Dear Kerwin, you are right that we should strive to master what can be mastered, and to attain what is attainable, even to realize that which can be realized, then our spiritual work will bear fruit.
You are right that to walk the straight and narrow path requires discipline, but let us not become too down on ourselves or others when we realize we…[Read more]

Dear Mia,thanks for sharing and you keep on doing what you are doing if that is helping you.I too had a surgery not long ago and was down for eight weeks.I prayed at this time to know the real Jesus and like you I never prayed or talked to Jesus either but only prayed to the Father in Jesus name as I was taught, even as a trinitarian. For some…[Read more]

Dear Carmel, you do have a great theological mind,in your grasp to put what seems such fragmented ideas together, not unlike St.Origen who although he was later condemned is still held in honor among many even if just discreetly.
God bless you and thanks for sharing!

But only if we’ve baptized of course!!
AndrewAD replied to the topic John 18:5-6 in the forum Truth or Tradition 10 years, 11 months ago
Some interpret being born again with being physically resurrected and if that’s the case then none has been born again except Jesus who is the “firstborn of the dead”which clearly means resurrected.Or if he was just spiritually resurrected then maybe the rest of us are just”born again”when we die and go to heaven.

Of course I know that Kerwin, but I was answering Bods question as to whether I would agree on Jesus being crucified. If that were Jesus will and I believed him I would say okay do what you will.
AndrewAD replied to the topic Bloodless atonement in the forum Faith 10 years, 11 months ago
I suppose if I was convinced at the time I would say okay Jesus “thy will be done” but if i didn’t know I would be like St.Peter and say “be it far from thee”.

Kerwin,
It is written “they who worship God should worship in spirit and in truth” we don’t need to go to the”holy land”be it Jerusalem,Samaria,Rome,Mecca or Salt Lake City.Jesus is king over a heavenly, spiritual kingdom that is”not of this world”.If God is literally ruling over this world now then so is Jesus. But many believers don’t even…[Read more]

Kerwin, that’s good to hear because i’ve heard the teaching that Jesus is not yet a king by dispensationalists and was taught this as a new believer. It is such confusion! And I’ve noticed that most now don’t even teach this controversy anymore unless they are committed dispensationalists of one type or another.Of course they-dispensationalists,…[Read more]

If Jesus is not now a king then neither is he Lord,or the Christ. For the Christ is King of the Jews and over the nations. He is exalted to God’s right hand as Psalm 2,Acts 2:30-36.If David was ever a real king then Christ is much more so!
But this applies only if you believe in the resurrection of Jesus.

A good question is why God needs blood, flesh, flour, incense,or money? Is not honest trust and repentance enough? I can’t escape the fact that some verses do seem to relate this, but the religious business needs more than that.
AndrewAD replied to the topic PROOF of Jesus' eternal past existence in the forum Truth or Tradition 10 years, 11 months ago
Carmel does make some very good theological points here imo.For how is it that in Matt 28 Jesus says”all authority is given to me in heaven and on earth”? If he has all authority in heaven, how is that?Isn’t heaven God’s domain? and maybe even earth for that matter?
Whereas in St. John’s gospel it appears he has this authority from the Father…[Read more]

“God does not want us to focus on ourselves and concentrate on becoming sinless. We can become self absorbed focussing on striving to be sinless.”These are good words from Nick.
Many a group has come up with doctrines of “sinless perfectionism”but this leads to two things imo, either an heir of superiority, thinking they are above all others or can…[Read more]

Paul’s sins are under the blood and Cain’s sins are under the flood but all are washed away! Praise God!
AndrewAD replied to the topic what does this mean "WE BEING DEAD TO SIN" MEAN, what say you? in the forum Scriptural Teachings 10 years, 11 months ago
Yes Bod Paul’s sins were a bit different from Cain’s since Cain was supposedly the first naturally born human and Paul came from generations of sinners. But yet they were all just venial since God blessed them both anyway.

That’s great news Kerwin that you really believe you’re perfect and always led of the spirit. But Paul in Philippians didn’t consider himself perfect and I don’t consider myself perfect either.Call me a sinner and damn me to hell,I’m okay with that but do you damn Paul who didn’t sin but only the sin that dwelt in him did.Let’s not damn Paul but…[Read more]

The point is none of us are perfect are we? some think they are but others might not agree with them. When Paul says he still has sin in his flesh what does that mean? Paul says in Philippians that he is not yet perfect but is still striving to attain that.He doesn’t think he has yet attained it and I agree with him.

Did I say Paul or myself is a blatant sinner with no good works? of course not!
The righteousness that comes by faith is the new man which is what I was saying also.
