Pierre,Eden is not a Greek Word.
Quote The shift from the secular to the religious sense appears more largely in the Greek Bible (LXX). “Paradeisos” is used there more than thirty times, especially in Genesis, where it means God's garden or Eden. The tendency to idealize grows in the apocryphal and pseudepigraphical writings (Dictionary of the Bible, Revised Edition, by Hastings, article “paradise”). here is my source.

Kerwinwhat I try to tell you is that paradise could be anything but for sure it is a favor place to those in God ,
just as the garden of Eden was because after sin man was separated from God and no longer in his favor, and thrown out of the garden of Eden ,

Pierre,I understand your point but Revelation 2:7 establishes the original Garden of Eden still exist with the tree of life in it. I asked you whether it is in heaven or on earth at the present time. I pointed out the 2 other mentions of a paradise in the New Testament.
For reasons I do not know there is no online Lexicon/Thesaurus for the LXX.

April 1, 2012 at 8:08 pm#289218mikeboll64BlockedNick,
Both Saul and David were already anointed by God when the Holy Spirit came upon them.
Why must you insist it was different in the case of Jesus of Nazareth, the Son and Christ of God? Why do you insist upon an understanding that is clearly refuted by the scriptures themselves?
April 1, 2012 at 8:30 pm#289226NickHassanParticipantHi MB,
You mean anointed as kings[both] and by the Spirit[David]?I do not think Jesus was a lesser god nor do I think he was anointed twice.

Where does scripture CLEARLY say the Nazarene was anointed twice?April 1, 2012 at 9:39 pm#289246mikeboll64BlockedQuote (Nick Hassan @ April 01 2012,14:31) Hi MB,
Where does scripture CLEARLY say the Nazarene was anointed twice?
Well, the angel in Luke 2 CLEARLY says Jesus was BORN the anointed one of God. That would take care of one of the anointings. And Acts 10 CLEARLY says he was anointed with Holy Spirit at the Jordan, so that would take care of a second anointing.
(Also, both Saul AND David were anointed BEFORE being anointed with Holy Spirit.)

Nick, you need to be like John and know the meaning of the WORD.

Mike,Jude 1
New American Standard Bible (NASB)24 Now to Him who is able to keep you from stumbling, and to make you stand in the presence of His glory blameless with great joy, 25 to the only God our Savior, through Jesus Christ our Lord, be glory, majesty, dominion and authority, before all time and now and forever. Amen.
Jude is speaking of giving glory, majesty, dominion and authority to God through Jesus in the past, present, and future. Your stumbling block is you do not see how Jude can give anything through Jesus before Jesus was created. I have no such problem as I understand how Jesus can have glory with God before he was created. God foreknew Jesus and prepared his position beforehand.
Note: I believe that the translators err in believing the ‘’be” is inferred since it does not make sense that Jude is either giving or asking his readers to give “glory, majesty, dominion and authority to God”.

Nick,We know Jesus is not a lesser god, which is no God at all, as Scripture declares the World to come will not be subject to angels.

Kerwin,You only pretend that you “understand” that nonsense. Jesus didn't ask God to give him the glory GOD FOREKNEW HE WOULD SOMEDAY HAVE, Kerwin.
If the PERSON Jesus said he had glory with God before the world began, then the PERSON Jesus had glory with God before the world began.
Once again, you try to change the very words your Lord spoke and replace them with your own words that fit better into your flawed doctrine. Yet you say you love, serve and believe your Lord?

You WOULD know that, were you to actually put the words of scripture over your own words, Kerwin. The FACT is that Jesus is a god. Can you argue this fact? Only if you want to argue with scriptures (which you quite often do).
And the FACT is that Jesus is not a GREATER god than his own God, or an EQUAL god to his own God, and so he has no choice but to be a lesser god than his own God.
