Let me start me start off by saying that this thread was and shouldn't be made by anyone including myself into a thread where we prove or disprove any scripture. The sole purpose of this topic is to quote your favorite verse in the Bible and tell why you believe that to be so.
*I'll start…
John 3:16
16 “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
*This Bible verse is my favorite at this time because it highlights clearly and concisively that God loved us so much that he offered his Son as a sacrifice for us.

July 12, 2007 at 7:10 am#59299chosenoneParticipantMay I quote two of my favouites?
Ro.11:36
… seeing that out of Him (God) and through Him and for Him is all: to Him be the glory for the eons! Amen!Eph.1:11
in Him in Whom our lot was cast also, being designated beforehand according to the purpose of the One Who is operating all in accord with the counsel of His will,I believe that these two scriptures reveal that God is in complete control, as He says in Isaiah.46:10, Saying, “All” my counsel shall be confirmed, And all my desire will I do.
Can “God” be denied? Can anything thwart His plan? Many do not believe that God can accomplish all His Desires.July 11, 2010 at 5:53 pm#203175chosenoneParticipanttopical, to use Nicks expression.
July 14, 2010 at 8:50 pm#203860RokkaManParticipantI too love John 3:16…it breaks down all the previous pressumptions of who God is to us, and how he views us.
Early Jews and Gentiles believed God was angry with everything and hated everyone.
and that we were to try our best to please him.

This verse clearly illustrates however, that God is actually a loving God. Ready to forgive and forget, and receive us in his name.

I would have to say my all time favorite is the one I used for my signature below. But for some reason, I love it when God shows sarcasm, so I like Isaiah 44:16-17;
16 Half of the wood he burns in the fire;
over it he prepares his meal,
he roasts his meat and eats his fill.
He also warms himself and says,
“Ah! I am warm; I see the fire.”17 From the rest he makes a god, his idol;
he bows down to it and worships.
He prays to it and says,
“Save me; you are my god.”And I love Job 38:4-21, but I'll just post the last of it,
19 “What is the way to the abode of light?
And where does darkness reside?20 Can you take them to their places?
Do you know the paths to their dwellings?21 Surely you know, for you were already born!
You have lived so many years!I laugh every time I realize our sense of humor in general MUST have come from God – He sure has one!
peace and love,
