    Jn 3:19 This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but men loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil.
    Jn 3:20 Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that his deeds will be exposed.
    Jn 3:21 But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what he has done has been done through God.”

    John talks about three things here ;

    the love of darkness'
    hate of the light'
    live by truth'

    those are making the verdict.so what you think?

    is this on going ? and if yes till wen?

    and what does it really means ??

    While it was not the mission of Christ to condemn, yet, being the Light, He exposed the darkness. The priests and Pharisees were judged by their hatred of the Light.

    Hi Pierre:

    I believe that the scripture states: “This is the condemnation” rather than “this is the verdict”, and it means that when the gospel was preached to them they did not repent, but continued to practice sin wilfully.

    Verdict is reaching a conclusion, a decision. Jesus reached a conclusion that man loved darkness (evil) more than light (truth).
    I think the answer to your question, “is this still going on”, is obvious; it will be going on until Christ will rule the world.

    No, it applies to all of humanity to whom the gospel has been preached.

    Quote
    John 12:46I am come a light into the world, that whosoever believeth on me should not abide in darkness.

    47And if any man hear my words, and believe not, I judge him not: for I came not to judge the world, but to save the world.

    48He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day.

    hi

    but we can go one step further ;

    that the VERDICT means the judgement that is done to the fact that men had chosen darkness(devil) and not light (christ)

    and that we do not need any other judgement than this one for this alone separate all human kind ,into two sides,

    sheep and goats, weath and weeds , good and bad seeds , believers and unbelievers ,in Christ and not in Christ ,with God and without God ,blessed and non blessed, ect…

    this is why Jesus says ;Jn 3:16 “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.ALL OTHERS ARE EXCLUDED

    Terricca…….it is not written, “shall not” , it is “should not” there is a difference.

    Scripture also say God is not willing that even the evil should parish, but that all would come to repentence.

    EZK33:11… SAY UNTO THEM, AS I LIVE, SAYS THE LORD, I HAVE NO PLEASURE IN THE DEATH OF THE WICKED, BUT THAT THE WICKED TURN FROM HIS WAY AND LIVE: TURN YOU, TURN FROM YOUR EVIL WAYS; FOR WHY WILL YOU DIE, O HOUSE OF ISRAEL? God loves us all even the wicked or he would not have said that brother.

    peace and love to you and yours………………..gene

    Terricca…….Our wills have liberty to exercise itself, the way it wants to. But what is driving that will is the cause and that will is hardly free ITSELF.
