Hi,
Jesus was raised in his original flesh and bone body to fulfil the sign of Jonah.
But he has been changed and that is our hope too.
Phil 3.20f
For our citizenship is in heaven, from which also we eagerly wait for a Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ,
who will transform the body of our humble state into conformity with the body of his glory,
by the exertion of the power that he has even to subject all things to Himself.
January 17, 2018 at 8:54 am#820821GeneBalthropParticipantNick….Jesus still has his original body, because it would have been wrong to take it from him, HE NEVER SINNED, so the sole that sinneth shall parish, does not apply to him as others. Adam and Eve could have lived for ever in their original bodies created for them by GOD, HAD THEY NOT SINNED. Do you think GOD the Father was tricking them by some how giving them inferior bodies?, or haven’t you read where it says if they ate from the tree of life they would never die, so God blocked the way to it. No where does say the tree of life changes the body, but transforms it (our bodies) from mortal to immortal.
NO scripture say Jesus’ “boby” was changed to a different body. His body never saw corruption in the grave, he still has it to this very day, he never sinned so no reason for it to parish.
Preaching a different body is like saying GOD THE FATHER, didn’t get it right the first time. When we wittness “the redemption of “OUR” bodies”, IT IS “OUR” BODIES (the ones we have) THAT IS BEING REDEMMED NOT A DIFFERENT ONE. WHEN God caused Sampson’s body to be strong enough to kill 1000 soliders with a jawbone of a ass, i think he can do the same with any of our bodies even now or in the future.
Peace and love to you and yours. …..gene
January 17, 2018 at 11:24 am#820823NickHassanParticipantHi Gene,
Did not Jesus carry the curse for us by hanging on a tree?
Do you ignore the promise of a new body like his glorious one?
January 18, 2018 at 4:53 am#820870GeneBalthropParticipantNick…scripture says Jesus’ body never saw corruption. Psa 16:10, Acts 13:35
If God’s intention was to give us bodies meant to die and perish, then it would have been a deception to tell us that sin would cause us to die and see corruption, if He originally gave us a perishable body in the first place. God said, what he created was good, and i believe him. His creation was perfect in every way and that included the bodies he gave us. It was sin that caused our bodies to see corruption, untill it is restored to us again at the resurection of our “bodies”, just as it says. God is able to resurect our bodies and restore them to perfect health and glory and eternal life. Is this not your hope, do you not “hope for the reserection that will witness the “redemption” of our “bodies” , brought about by our Heavenly Father Nick?
Peace and love to you and yours. …….gene
January 18, 2018 at 6:28 am#820872NickHassanParticipantHi Gene,
John says we do not know what we will be like.
But you do?
January 18, 2018 at 6:34 am#820873NickHassanParticipantHi Gene,
“ In the days of his flesh..” Hebrews speaks of a period of time but you think that the old body is immutable?
”We no longer speak of Christ according to the flesh” says 2 Cor 5.16 , But you do.
Then there is the promise you ignore in 1Cor 15.50 f.
It seems Scripture cannot convince you so I will not try as it is your ideas that are immutable.
January 18, 2018 at 10:55 am#820878GeneBalthropParticipantNick….1 Cor 15:42… So also is the ‘resurection” of the dead, (IT) is sown in coruption; (IT) is raised in incorruption: 43, (IT) is sown in dishonor; (IT) IS RAISED in glory: (IT) IS SOWN IN WEAKNESS; (IT) IS RAISED IN POWER. 44, (IT) IS SOWN a natural body, (IT) is raised a spritual “BODY” , there is a natural “BODY”, and there is a sptitual “BODY”
NICK…PLEASE EXPLAIN TO US WHAT THE WORDS (IT) MENTIONED SEVEN TIMES IS REFERING TO? IS THE IT SOWN IN WEAKNESS NOT THE SAME ITS RAISED IN POWER? WHERE DID SCRIPTURE CHANGE THE ONE IT TO ANOTHER IT?The word spritual, does not mean a spirit body as you supose, but OUR RESURECTED AND THEN SPIRITUALLY SISTAINED “BODIES”.
Peace and love to you and yours. …….gene
January 18, 2018 at 11:13 am#820879NickHassanParticipantHi Gene,
A seed does not remain a seed but it changes in the ground so that it can become a plant.
It is sown a natural body and raised as a spiritual body.
But someone will say
”How are the dead raised?
And with what kind of body do they come?”
You fool!
That which you sow does not come to life unless it dies; and that which you sow, you do not sow the body which is to be.
1cor 35f
January 18, 2018 at 12:12 pm#820883GeneBalthropParticipantNick…..The body that was sown died and from it’s exact DNA was generated a exact new body just like the one where the seed came from, it did not produce a different “kind” of body then what it came from, JUST A NEW ONE EXACTLY LIKE THE BODY THAT WAS BEFORE, the only difference is the new body is spritually generated. Go read Ezk 37:1-14, and come and tell us what you think.
God did not make a mistake in giving us our bodies which could have lived for ever, had man been allowed to take of the tree of life, just as God said. ‘Look man as become as we are to know good an evil, now lest he put forth his hand and take of the tree of life and “NEVER DIE”. SO, GOD THE FATHER BLOCKED THE WAY TO PREVENT MAN FROM LIVING FOR EVER, JUST THE WAY HE WAS, why?, Because he had sinned, but it was never about, he could not have lived forever with the body God had originally given him.
Nick you seem to have some kind of evil view about our flesh bodies, it’s sin that dwells in our bodies thats the problem, not the bodies themselves. I really think you may not be viewing this right brother.
Peace and love to you and yours. …..gene
January 18, 2018 at 12:31 pm#820884NickHassanParticipantHi Gene,
So you can define a spiritual body according to natural things like DNA.
Stop making stuff up.
January 18, 2018 at 12:33 pm#820885NickHassanParticipantHi Gene,
We are told we will be like the angels.
What sort of DNA do they have?
January 18, 2018 at 12:34 pm#820886GeneBalthropParticipantNick…I just thought of something that might help., you quoted it above….”that which you sow does not come to life (UNLES”, IT DIES) ” so (IT) the body does come to life, if (IT) the body dies. What comes to life if it DIES?, (IT DOES). Get it? IT’S THE SAME KIND OF BODY JUST A NEW ONE GENERATED BY SPRIT. SAME AS THE SEED EXAMPLE. A SPITITUAL GENERATED BODY, NOT A BODY REGENERATED BY A MAN AND WOMEN HAVING SEX, BUT A SPRITUALLY GENERATED CLONE BODY OF THE ONE YOU HAD BEFORE. IT IS NOT THE EXACT SAME BODY THAT DIES BUT A SPIRITUALLY REGENERATED BODY EXACTLY LIKE THE ONE THAT DIED, ONLY SPIRITUALLY SUSTAINED.
Peace and love to you and yours. …..gene
January 18, 2018 at 12:53 pm#820887NickHassanParticipantHi Gene,
Your reliance on logic prevents the truth coming through to you.
Dig beyond your own resources.
January 18, 2018 at 2:02 pm#820889NickHassanParticipantHi Ed,
Do you not realise yet that it is a foolish question?
January 19, 2018 at 4:26 am#820899GeneBalthropParticipantNick…We are already only a “little” below angels, BECAUSE we are subject to death, they arn’t, what makes you think they don’t have their own DNA. WHY DO YOU THINK THEY EAT FOOD FOR? Just for the fun of it?, SPIRITS DON’T EAT FOOD DO THEY?
NICK YOU MAY BE THE ONE NOT LETTING THE SPIRIT of TRUTH SPEAK, sense you preach angels “are” spirits. WHILE angels do have spirits in them placed in them by God, they also have bodies as we do. You view of angels is that they are vastly and completely different then we are, but scriptures says, we are just a “little” below them. No scripture even hints we are to be turned into spirits as far as i can see.
Peace and love to you and yours. ……gene
January 29, 2018 at 5:13 pm#821021NickHassanParticipantHi Gene,
Jesus Christ appeared to Saul on the road to Damascus.
No sign of his battered old body there.
January 30, 2018 at 4:47 am#821032GeneBalthropParticipantNick….Nothing said there about a different body either, even Moses face shined so bright he had to use a vail over it. NO SCRIPTURE SAYS WE WILL NOT RETAIN OUR SAME DNA NICK, EVEN if “IT” (OUR BODIES) have been raised from the grave and glorified by the spirit. Jesus showed clearly it was his body he died with that was resurected, HE never sinned, therefore HE never saw corruption of his original body, as scripture says. “THOU WILL NOT SUFFER THY HOLY ONE TO SEE CORRUPTION” , so Jesus “never” saw coruption of his body Nick, he still has it, no matter how glorified it is now. IMO
peace and love to you and yours. . . . gene
January 30, 2018 at 6:13 am#821033NickHassanParticipantHi Gene,
DNA is not mentioned in the bible but flesh is.
We no longer speak about Christ according to the flesh.
Now the Lord is the Spirit.
January 30, 2018 at 7:37 am#821035NickHassanParticipantHi Gene,
The body of Jesus did not see corruption.
Neither will yours if you are alive in Christ when he returns.
The new body will be put over the old.
January 31, 2018 at 4:58 am#821049GeneBalthropParticipantNick…The spirit ‘regenerates’ our existing BODIES with continual life it also repairs every defect, when we partake of the tree (that which produces from self) life , into our bodies, then our bodies become spiritually regenerated. IS THAT NOT WHAT A RESURECTION OF OUR “BODIES” IS ALL ABOUT. IF OUR OLD DEAD BODIES WERE NOT REGENERATED THEN THERE WOULD BE NO NEED FOR ANY RESERECTION WOULD THERE BE? TO RESURECT MEANS RAISE UP FROM ONE STATE TO ANOTHER. THERE WHEN WE DIE TO SLEEP UNTIL WE ARE AWAKEN AND THEN WE RISE UP, OR EXPERIENCE A RESURECTION. Again a resurection is to wittness the redemptions of “OUR BODIES”. Rom 8:23 ….wating for the adoption, to wit the redemption of “OUR BODY”.
Peace and love to you and yours. …….gene
