Quote (mikeboll64 @ May 27 2014,04:49) Quote (Wakeup @ May 25 2014,19:29) AND HE (JESUS) SHALL BE A FATHER TO THE INHABITANTS OF JERUSALEM.
“A father”? Or “THE Father”?Which does the KJV say in Isaiah 22:21, Wakeup?
Also:
Isaiah 22
20 And it shall come to pass in that day, that I will call my servant Eliakim the son of Hilkiah:21 And I will clothe him with thy robe, and strengthen him with thy girdle, and I will commit thy government into his hand: and he shall be a father to the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and to the house of Judah.
This passage is about Eliakim, who later became King of Judah…….. not about Jesus.
So what does it mean that Eliakim will be “a father to the inhabitants of Jerusalem”?
What does the word “father” mean in that context, Wakeup? “Benefactor”? “Protector”? “Instructor”?
What do YOU say the word “father” means in that verse?
The Word of God is a father to them that are His.
God is now the father.
But when all is finished and done.
God and His Word will be our Father.Undestand?God's woman in heaven is mother Zion.
Jesus's woman on earth is the daughter of Zion.
Our Mother now is the daughter of Zion and Jesus is a father to us; He is bringing us up to maturehood. But when all is done; we will all be under Mother Zion
And God will be our father, and Jesus's Father also. You must first understand all these things.
wakeup.

Wakeup,In what way was ELIAKIM a “father” to the house of Judah and the city of Jerusalem?
Did ELIAKIM literally beget Judah and Jerusalem?
Or was he a “father” in a METAPHORICAL way?

Following the Master
John 4:32
But He said to them, “I have food to eat that you do not know about.”
.John 4:34
Jesus *said to them, “My food is to do the will of Him who sent Me and to accomplish His work.
.John 6:27
Do not work for the food which perishes, but for the food which endures to eternal life, which the Son of Man will give to you, for on Him the Father, God, has set His seal.”May 28, 2014 at 2:26 am#384894WakeupParticipantQuote (mikeboll64 @ May 28 2014,12:53) Quote (Wakeup @ May 26 2014,22:51) Quote (mikeboll64 @ May 27 2014,04:49) Isaiah 22

Eliakim is also of the root of David.
Sometimes Jesus is called David; son of David
Son of man,son of God.
One needs to read the whole context.wakeup.
May 28, 2014 at 2:58 am#384915mikeboll64BlockedThat STILL doesn't answer the question, Wakeup.
We KNOW from scripture that the passage is about the LITERAL “Eliakim, son of Hilkiah”.
In what way was that LITERAL Eliakim a “father” to Jerusalem?
What does the word “father” mean in Isaiah 22:21?

Mike B.What does the word father mean to you when you address your dad?
Read:
Isaiah 22:20 And it shall come to pass in that day, that I will call my servant Eliakim the son of Hilkiah:Isaiah 22:21 And I will clothe him with thy robe, and strengthen him with thy girdle, and I will commit thy government into his hand: and he shall be a father to the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and to the house of Judah.
Isaiah 22:22 ***And the key of the house of David will I
lay upon his shoulder***;***so he shall open, and none shall shut***;
***and he shall shut***, ***and none shall open***.Isaiah 22:23 And I will fasten him as a nail in a sure place; and he shall be for a glorious throne to his father's house.
Isaiah 22:24 And they shall hang upon him all the glory of his father's house, the offspring and the issue, all vessels of small quantity, from the vessels of cups, even to all the vessels of flagons.
Isaiah 22:25 In that day, saith the LORD of hosts, shall the nail that is fastened in the sure place be removed, and be cut down, and fall; and the burden that was upon it shall be cut off: for the LORD hath spoken it.
The rest is too hard for you to take.

May 29, 2014 at 1:02 am#385252mikeboll64BlockedOkay Wakeup,
I'm not going to argue with you about “Eliakim” being “Jesus”, or whatever.
Let's try this one:
Job 29:16 KJV
I was a father to the poor: and the cause which I knew not I searched out. What does it mean that Job was “a father” to the poor, Wakeup?
What does the word “father” mean in that verse?

My dad was a father to me and family.
Job was a father to his family ,and he cares and looks after the poor. He employs many servants and looks after them,
an their families. The pope is a father to the catholics.
wakeup.
May 29, 2014 at 1:37 am#385269mikeboll64BlockedYou are correct, Wakeup……….
Job was a “father” to the poor in the sense that he cared for and looked after the poor.
And one who cares for and looks after someone is called their “benefactor”, or “protector”.
So I only have two simple questions:
1. Is Jesus someone who cares for and looks after us? YES or NO?
2. Will Jesus be doing that forever? YES or NO?
