Hi Is 1.18,
You ask in another thread.
“Where in scripture can we find the word “vessel” used in association with Yeshua? “
Yeshua is a man.Acts 2
22Ye men of Israel, hear these words; Jesus of Nazareth, a man approved of God among you by miracles and wonders and signs, which God did by him in the midst of you, as ye yourselves also know:He is like to us.
So every refernece to man as a vessel applies equally to him. Christ spoke to the Pharisees about them being whited sepulchres and told them to clean the inside of the cup. Women are the weaker vessels, Paul was said to be a vessel especially chosen by God and so on. All describe man as a container, a vessel. God speaks of Himself as a potter making pots. Men are said to be filled with the Spirit just as Jesus was said to be full of the Spirit in Lk 4. 2 tim2 speaks of vessels in the household and we are said to have treasure in earthly vessels. All describe man.
Christ is a man whom we follow.
ps 31
5Into thine hand I commit my spirit: thou hast redeemed me, O LORD God of truth.6I have hated them that regard lying vanities: but I trust in the LORD.
7I will be glad and rejoice in thy mercy: for thou hast considered my trouble; thou hast known my soul in adversities;
8And hast not shut me up into the hand of the enemy: thou hast set my feet in a large room.
9Have mercy upon me, O LORD, for I am in trouble: mine eye is consumed with grief, yea, my soul and my belly.
10For my life is spent with grief, and my years with sighing: my strength faileth because of mine iniquity, and my bones are consumed.
11I was a reproach among all mine enemies, but especially among my neighbours, and a fear to mine acquaintance: they that did see me without fled from me.
12I am forgotten as a dead man out of mind: I am like a broken vessel.

Can any man do miracles?
No it is the work of God within clean vessels that does these works.
God was IN CHRIST.December 17, 2007 at 8:59 pm#75141NickHassanParticipantHi,
God has also used His angels and even a donkey as a vessel for His work.
The Glory belongs to God.February 28, 2008 at 9:58 pm#82893NickHassanParticipantHi,
God can use any suitable vessel to accomplish His works.

20But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood and of earth; and some to honour, and some to dishonour.21If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master's use, and prepared unto every good work.

We are indeed vessels.
2 Corinthians 4:7
But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us.2 Timothy 2:20

Vessels, indeed. But not the way you interpret it regarding Jesus at the Jordan.
Perhaps you would like to share your theory about how God inhabited Jesus body that was prepared for him at the Jordan? Possibly I am mistaken about your ideas…
June 19, 2008 at 9:53 pm#93533NickHassanParticipantHi,
Jesus was a wondrous vessel for God as Spirit.
As vessels can be, he was emptied[Phil2] and then filled with the Spirit of God[Lk4].June 26, 2008 at 10:26 pm#94353NickHassanParticipantHi,
Men, serpents, pigs and donkeys can be shown in scripture to be vessels for either good or evil.June 26, 2008 at 10:35 pm#94356NickHassanParticipantHi,
God holds responsible the vessel as well as the evil contents.
Likewise men can be used as vessels for God and earn His blessing.2tim2

22Flee also youthful lusts: but follow righteousness, faith, charity, peace, with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart.

Man is just a vessel.
Used by evil till called to repentance.
Best be washed and ready for the blessing of the indwelling Spirit.January 30, 2009 at 9:34 am#119677NickHassanParticipantHi Jodi,
God can use vessels that are made clean.
Washing in the blood of the Lamb cleanses them in response to repentance and the plea of baptism.[Heb9. 1Peter3]

January 30, 2009 at 5:29 pm#119695GeneBalthropParticipantNick……….God can use anyone He wants, rather clean or unclean, why do you continue to limit what GOD can or can not DO. One would think you are GOD, Speaking this way. You need to realize you are about nothing compared to HIM. Question here is who makes the vessel clean is it the vessel it Self or GOD, Thats the issue Nick. You believe the vessel itself makes itself clean, we believe it is GOD who Makes it clean by the washing of His word. Which is SPIRIT (INTELLECT).

It is folly to try to develop doctrines from what we think God CAN DO.We are almost totally ignorant of what God can do so we must limit what we say He will do by what He has revealed about what He WILL do.
He never offers an amnesty to all oblivious sinners
January 31, 2009 at 12:43 am#119739GeneBalthropParticipantNick………Good advice take it. Don't limit what GOD can Do, thats what i have against you, saying GOD is going to barbecue his creation. When you don't even know if there is a literal lake of literal Fire. You don't Know what He will do , so why twist scripture to say what you want it to then. Ig his will is to have mercy on ALL who are you to contradict that.

Should men ignore the offer of mercy from God then what hope do they expect to have?Jn3
16For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.17For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
18He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
19And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.
20For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.
21But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.
