Hi,
So the letter is addressed to the saints who are in the church of God, sanctified in Christ Jesus.2Unto the church of God which is at Corinth, to them that are sanctified in Christ Jesus, called to be saints, with all that in every place call upon [1941]the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, both their's and our's:
Number 1941
Transliteration:
epikaleomai {ep-ee-kal-eh'-om-ahee}
Word Origin:
middle voice from 1909 and 2564
TDNT:
3:496,*
Part of Speech:
verb
Usage in the KJV:
call on 7, be (one's) surname 6, be surnamed 5, call upon 4, appeal unto 4, call 4, appeal to 1, appeal 1Total: 32
Definition:
to put a name upon, to surname
to permit one's self to be surnamed
to be named after someone
to call something to one
to cry out upon or against one
to charge something to one as a crime or reproach
to summon one on any charge, prosecute one for a crime
to blame one for, accuse one of
to invoke
to call upon for one's self, in one's behalf
any one as a helper
as my witness
as my judge
to appeal unto
to call upon by pronouncing the name of Jehovah
an expression finding its explanation in the fact that prayers addressed to God ordinarily began with an invocation of the divine nameSeems odd that anyone could mistake this group for the sinners of the world.
But, of course, that is what this false doctine is founded on.
The abuse of scripture.June 24, 2008 at 4:54 am#93867chosenoneParticipantNick.
Ro.15:15-16, read for yourself. Or is this another scripture that should be eliminated? (in “Nicks Gospel”)Blessings.

What did you read in ro.15:15-16? Take the blinders off, read all scripture in context, don't just pick out a few words and get stuck on them only, read it all!Blessings.

Here Paul is talking about the Gospel preached to Gentiles.June 24, 2008 at 10:07 am#93914NickHassanParticipantHi GM,
Where?
I assure you CO I have read it all many times.
Nowhere have I read that all men will be forgiven and saved.June 24, 2008 at 10:25 am#93919gollamudiParticipantNo No my friend I am not saying these words, but I was only quoting from Rom 15:15-16. I never told that all will be forgiven or saved.
June 24, 2008 at 6:56 pm#93969NickHassanParticipantHi GM,
Rom15
12And again, Esaias saith, There shall be a root of Jesse, and he that shall rise to reign over the Gentiles; in him shall the Gentiles trust.13Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost.
14And I myself also am persuaded of you, my brethren, that ye also are full of goodness, filled with all knowledge, able also to admonish one another.
15Nevertheless, brethren, I have written the more boldly unto you in some sort, as putting you in mind, because of the grace that is given to me of God,
16That I should be the minister of Jesus Christ to the Gentiles, ministering the gospel of God, that the offering up of the Gentiles might be acceptable, being sanctified by the Holy Ghost.
17I have therefore whereof I may glory through Jesus Christ in those things which pertain to God.
So Paul confirms in thise letter to the saints that he has an appointed role of preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ to the gentiles.
That gospel is the same gospel of Jesus Christ first spoken to the Jews and not a new gospel.

Nick.
If I wrote you a letter for your whole family and friends, but of course I addressed it to you, would you not let your family and friends see it? Of course you would, same as Pauls writings, they were addressed to his friends, the saints,in the various locations. But as I showed you numerous times in scripture, his writings were for “the nations”. Please don't ignore what scripture says, read ALL scripture, not just the ones that you can show agree with “Nicks Gospel”.Blessings.
June 24, 2008 at 10:47 pm#94011NickHassanParticipantHi WJ,
Are all in the family of God?
God does not seem to think so.
John 8:44
Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.WE all must repent. Acts 17

June 24, 2008 at 11:03 pm#94014NickHassanParticipantHi,
Universalism believes all men have been justified by the death of the Lamb.
A fine fantasy.God does forgive but that forgiveness is found in Jesus.
June 24, 2008 at 11:21 pm#94018GeneBalthropParticipantNick…….So the scriptures that say Christ died for the sins of the (whole world) is no true then. and where God said He has concluded (ALL) under sin, in order that He might have mercy on (ALL) is not true either. And where God said He is not willing for any to Parish, and where it says God works (ALL THINGS) after the council of His Own Will doesn't mean that either. We better hop that it not God's WILL any Parish, and he can do what he said he can do , “I will take out of you the stony heart and give you a heart of flesh , and i will write my laws on your inward parts and i will be unto you a God and you shall be unto me a people. You better hope He actually can do that,or there will be (NO) hope for (YOU) or anyone else either.

Yes all are invited to the wedding feast.
Some refuse having higher priorities.June 25, 2008 at 1:26 am#94023GeneBalthropParticipantNick……where do you see all are invited to the wedding feast at. If God has mercy on all, He has mercy on All, who gave you the right to limit that. Doe you honestly think God is incapable of Saving (ALL), If He can and does change minds to think right He can and will save ALL. You limit Him not knowing His powers.

You read between the lines of scripture
and miss what is written.Jesus is the door of the sheep.

June 25, 2008 at 4:37 am#94045NickHassanParticipantHi GB,
God still extends His merciful offer to all.
Do not stand in the doorway and preventing some from responding.Matthew 23:13
But woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye shut up the kingdom of heaven against men: for ye neither go in yourselves, neither suffer ye them that are entering to go in.June 25, 2008 at 5:55 am#94080chosenoneParticipantNick, Still useing scripture that is for “the lost sheep of the house of Israel”. We of the “nations”, Gentiles, were not even included by God in that era. See Eph.2:11-12. 11 Wherefore, remember that once you, the nations in flesh — who are termed 'Uncircumcision' by those termed 'Circumcision,' in flesh, made by hands —
12 that you were, in that era, apart from Christ, being alienated from the citizenship of Israel, and guests of the promise covenants, having no expectation, and without God in the world.
But alas! You would probably not include these verses in “Nicks version” of the bible.Blessings.
June 25, 2008 at 7:26 pm#94127NickHassanParticipantHi CO,
You should not cast aside the teachings of Jesus because they were spoken first to Israel.
You should abide in them.
The written teaching words of Paul do not belong to the ignorant masses, his preaching does. - AuthorPosts
