Ncik,
Quote What are the WORKS of the law you think Jesus failed in? Jesus did not fail in them as he did not even attempt to do them. Instead he did the works of the spirit. He was not declared righteous by the works of the Law but he was declared righteous by the works of the Spirit showing that God put his word within him and wrote it on his heart and mind.

You only say these things to support your inferential and unscriptural belief that Jesus was anointed before the Jordan. Can you accuse Jesus of failing here?
.Matthew 23:23
Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye pay tithe of mint and anise and cummin, and have omitted the weightier matters of the law, judgment, mercy, and faith: these ought ye to have done, and not to leave the other undone.
Nick,The Pharisees were doing what too many people that claim to be religious are doing today. The cherry picked the law obeying the commandments about tithing but disobeyed those pertaining to “judgment, mercy, and faith”. If Paul is to be believe he did all of them and yet still fell short of the glory of God.

So you say.
But Jesus had the best Father.
He was trained and disciplined and walked by the law .All God requires is a clean vessel to pour the Holy Spirit into.
We are shown that being done at the Jordan and the fruit was immediate being led into the desert by the Spirit.Jesus was clean as was Cornelius.
Jesus did not need the baptism of John but did it to fulfil all righteousness.

You confuse the WORKS of the law with the heart of the LawJune 9, 2014 at 9:44 pm#388057NickHassanParticipantHi KW,
.Psalm 119:174
I have longed for thy salvation, O Lord; and thy law is my delight.June 9, 2014 at 9:47 pm#388059NickHassanParticipantHi KW,
1 Timothy 1:9
Knowing this, that the law is not made for a righteous man, but for the lawless and disobedient, for the ungodly and for sinners, for unholy and profane, for murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, for manslayers,All men have the pure conscience as their law.

I do not know why you chose to quote Psalm 119:174 and 1 Timothy 1:9.
June 10, 2014 at 12:30 am#388108NickHassanParticipantHi KW,
The law was given to save men and it did.

Romans 2:29
New English Translation (NET)29 but someone is a Jew who is one inwardly, and circumcision is of the heart by the Spirit and not by the letter. This person’s praise is not from people but from God.

Yes a true faithful Jew who loved scripture.
