    Hi Wakeup,

Are you suggesting that you will not have
God's divine nature until you are resurrected?

    Ed,

The teaching Jesus gave to Nicodemus is about being born of something other than flesh in order to see or enter the kingdom of heaven.

This must be a LITERAL rebirth of spirit, and not flesh.

Don't confuse this with the metaphorical “born again” that comes from giving your fleshly life over to serving God and His Christ.

Wakeup is talking about the LITERAL “born again”, and not the METAPHORICAL one.

    Hi Wakeup,

Do you also believe as Wakeup does that “Born Again” means Resurrection?

    EdJ.

You believe that born again is at baptism in water.yes.

And then Jesus will spue them so called born again;out of His mouth.

And you believe that angels are 50% spirit and 50%
flesh. What other strange doctrine do you have on your plate?
    Jesus is also 50-50.

Sorry; No flesh can enter heaven.
The flesh of Christ and his blood is what we eat,and drink.
Spiritual food and drink. We are not encouraged to cannibalize.

Jesus was truly human with the spirit in Him.
We are truly human with the HS in us.
There is the terrestrial body and the celestial.
    The heavenly, and the earthly.
There is no 50/50. nor earthly/heavenly.

Satan and his angels are not flesh and spirit.

    Hi MB,
    You say
“Ed, you can be metaphorically “born again” when you accept Jesus Christ as your Savior and King.”

Where is this rebirth spoken of?

Intellectual ACCEPTANCE of the fact that Jesus Christ IS Lord of all changes nothing

This is the “born again” Peter speaks of in 1 Peter 1:23, Nick.

This is a different “born again” than the one Jesus taught to Nicodemus in John 3.

Jesus was speaking about a LITERAL rebirth of spirit and water in order to enter into the kingdom of heaven….. because flesh cannot enter that place.

Peter was not speaking literally – which should be obvious from the fact that Peter was still a flesh being when he said those words.

Really? I thought Kerwin was the ONLY one in the world who believed angels were flesh beings. :)

Consider Matthew 22:30, Ed. Do you suppose Jesus is talking about those who are resurrected to a life on earth? Or only about those who are resurrected to heaven?

I believe the latter, since those who will dwell on earth after the resurrection will continue to marry and produce flesh offspring. This is something the heavenly have never done, but the fleshy will continue to do.

    What say you?

    Yes, Ed.

I believe Jesus was teaching Nicodemus about a LITERAL rebirth that was required before a human being could enter into heaven.

I don't think Peter was talking about a literal rebirth when he considered himself to be “born again” while he was still a flesh human being.

You say you can “see the Kingdom of God” but you also say that you are not “Born Again”??

This teaching of yours (and I guess Mike also) is in stark contradiction to Jesus words in John 3:3, will you please try to explain why YOU are right and Jesus is (according to you) wrong?

    Slow down there, Sunshine. :)

I have never claimed to be able to see the kingdom of heaven. I can “see it” in my mind's eye, but I don't suppose I will ever literally be able to see it unless I am one of those chosen to be born again of spirit and water instead of flesh.

Christ in his flesh was filled with spirit, as all flesh human beings are. He also had the added pleasure of being given God's Holy Spirit without limit – which none of us have (without limit).

But he wasn't “half God/half man”, Ed.

God being Adam's ONLY parent didn't make Adam 100% God, right? So God being the direct Father of Jesus didn't make Jesus 50% God.
