Hi BD,The one goat was killed and the other goat (the skapegoat) was driven into the wilderness to remain alive.
This “Shadow Picture” relates to Jesus because…
1) After Jesus “baptism” he was led by the HolySpirit into the wilderness.
(which is also another “Shadow Picture” of the Gospel of Jesus Christ)
2) As the first goat was killed for the sins of the people, so also was Jesus killed for the sins of the people.
3) And as the second goat was released alive, God The Father raised Jesus back to life (to never die again).God bless

InactiveI want to just quote how I heard a speaker speak about Jesus.I took notes cause it really touched me. hope you take the time to read to the end.)I posted it on a couple threads)
jesus came to this earth SINLESS, SINLESS BLOOD. He came as a mediator.(one who stands in the middle, Has to represent both partys) He had to represent God(He was God) and had to represent man(He was man) and everything Adam lost in the garden; Jesus gained. Adam lost fellowship with God, Adam lost the glory, and lost dominion. But now JESUS has dominion! over the atmosphere. He syas; “peace be still to the storm and it stops, dominion over sickness, He healed the sick, dominion over death(could raise the dead), dominion over gravity. WATER WONT SINK HIM; HE WALKS ON TOP OF IT! He fulfills everything written in scriptures, and after 3 1/2 yrs. he had to face the truth of why He came. it wasnt just to preach the gospel and to perform all those miracles, it was to face the cross! First we started with the garden of Eden and now Jesus is in the garden of Gethsemane. The last Adam (Jesus) is praying and the same curse that was pronounced in the garden , from the sweat of your brow, now He is sweating, but his sweat turns to drops of blood and that sinless blood IS GOING TO REVERSE THE CURSE OF SINFUL MAN. when He made His way to the cross He had to be beaten with 39 stripes, Had to have hands and feet nailed to the cross, had a crown of thorns on His head, and a spike in His side. He didnt come just to save you from your sin, he also came to save you from the affects of sin. Sin affects our health(thats why we get sick), your mind,(thoughts) your hands (our works) your feet(our walk) our
heart(inside)and Jesus paid for all of that with a crown,on His head, nails in His hands and feet and a sword in His side. He done the complete work. he hung on that cross for 6 hrs. and as he hung there He was battling the devil, death, all forces of hell until He screamed out;MY GOD MY GOD WHY HAS THO FORSAKEN ME? Do you know He was quotting Psalms 22? The psalms he gave to David. THE WORD IN THE FLESH WAS QUOTTING THE WORD THAT WAS WRITTEN. Thats what got Him threw.(he was quotting his own words) and before He died , He cried out IT IS FINISHED! AND THE EARTH QUAKED, AND THE VEIL WAS RIPPED INTO.That is what He is saying to us. it is finished, the battle has been won. He conqured every situation. no matter what you are facing; HE IS THERE. he loves us very much. He gave His life for us, and all you have to do is surrender to him. Hope this makes you think a little bit. I thank Him every day for what he done for us.
God Bless..

mikeboll64BlockedHi Katjo,
Very touching post. After reading it, I read Psalm 22 again and just soaked it in. All the ridicule, all the sneering, all the physical, mental and emotional pain Jesus must have felt brings tears to my eyes. What a sacrifice for him to make. And what a painful experience it must have also been for his Father and God to watch His beloved Son in such a state.
Are you a parent? Could you even imagine watching your own son go through that? I would much rather be the one going through it than the one watching someone I dearly loved go through it.
I do take issue with one thing in your post, though.
You said:
Quote He came as a mediator.(one who stands in the middle, Has to represent both partys) He had to represent God(He was God) and had to represent man(He was man) A mediator by definition cannot be one of the parties he is mediating between. So in this case, Jesus cannot be “all of mankind”, and he cannot be God Almighty. Scripture says he mediates BETWEEN us and God. Therefore, he is neither “us” nor “God”.
peace and love,

Inactivehello, i didnt quote he was one of the partys, I said he represented both. Scripture does tell us He is God Almighty. and the everlasting Father.

I didn't say Jesus was Killed I quoted that he was “killed” quotation marks indicate that it is not the thought of the individual but of who the individual is quoting just like me saying that you are a “witness” of YHVH it is your thought that is quoted thereJune 6, 2010 at 3:03 am#194377karmarie

Still mad about the scapegoat issue huh? Sorry the scapegoat never dies, why would you want to kill it?Pop Quiz:
If Jesus was alive today and killing him meant being forgiven for all your sins but not killing him meant relying on the mercy of God what would you do?
