    Seeking the truth, excellent post, no one could not have laid out the message any clearer. Now keeping with the spirit of the message.(that is the scriptures) I would like to add a text and a comment. The text is I corinthians chapt 2 vrs 10-12. I have posted this before but I think that your post has created a spirit that it may be heard now. [10) but God has revealed it to us by his Spirit. The Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God. 11) For who among men knows the thoughts of a man except the man's spirit within him? In the same way no one knows the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God. 12) We have not received the spirit of the world but the Spirit that is from God, that we may understand what God has freely given us.] Without the Spirit we will never understand what God has freely given us (Christ Jesus). Now the text is clear, in the same way our spirit works within us so does the Holy Spirit work with the Father. I also believe that just as our spirit is a part of us,In the same way, the Holy Spirit is a part of God or we would not have been given this example of relationship in corinthians.The verses you listed do not in anyway speak for or against a trinitarian point of view. I thessalonians chap 5 vrs 23 says that your whole spirit,soul,and body be sanctified through and through (that is your total being.) we are three parts with each of our parts having a differnet function. hebrews chap 4 vrs 12 says that only the word can seperate between soul and spirit and I believe it so. The scriptures differntiate between the two quiet clearly and their roles. In the same way, the word gives us an example in corinthians, how our spirit and Gods Spirit work with in us both. Also how the Fathers Spirit works with our spirit for spiritual discernment. May God bless everyone here (as he is blessing me) through our disscussions by giving us a hunger for the word, even if we do not agree on some points, atleast were in prayer and the word so he can speak to us. Again Blessings.

    CB;

    When you say that Christ is the Mighty God, do you mean that he is the God that revealed himself to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob as the Almighty God?

    Steven

    Mr Steve.

    What I am saying is that Christ is Jehovah God. He did reveal Himself to the Patriachs.

    Jer 32:18  Thou shewest lovingkindness unto thousands, and recompensest the iniquity of the fathers into the bosom of their children after them: the Great, the Mighty God, the LORD (Jehovah) of hosts, is his name,

    Isa 10:21  The remnant shall return, even the remnant of Jacob, unto the mighty God.

    Isa 9:6  For to us a Child is born, to us a Son is given; and the government shall be on His shoulder; and His name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.

                             ………….and the Word was God………. John 1:1

    2Pe 3:16  as also in all his letters, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which the unlearned and unstable pervert, as also they do the rest of the Scriptures, to their own destruction.  :O

    Gene good point, we are 3 fold beings,body soul and spirit. I totally agree with this.

    God has a Spirit, and man has a spirit. According to trinitarians, the Holy Spirit is the 3rd Person of the trinity. Using their convoluted logic, one could conclude that man’s spirit is a person, which means that there would be another “person” dwelling within each person. Obviously, this is ridiculous!

    Many will  cite the word “Comforter” as referring to a person. Of course, this is ridiculous. A comforter on your bed is obviously not a person. It is called such because of what it does, the same being true of the Holy Spirit.

    Can a person be distributed? The obvious answer is no. However, the Holy Spirit can be. “And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance” (Acts 2:4).

    On the Day of Pentecost, many were filled with the Holy Spirit. This marked the beginning of the New Testament Church. If the Holy Spirit were a person, this miracle could not have taken place, as it is not possible to be filled with a person. Also make note again here that many believe that one either has the Holy Spirit or does not—the amount cannot vary. If this is the case, all Christians in every age would have to be filled with the Spirit. Acts 6:3 and Matthew 25:8 (“gone” there should be translated “going”), among others, reveals the fallacy of this thinking.

    Do not allow an intellectual trinitarian response to this such as “the Holy Spirit is God, so normal rules do not apply” to confuse you. On such a basis, no Bible passage could be found because every passage came from God.

    In verses 17-18, Peter, quoting Joel 2:28-29, said, “And it shall come to pass in the last days, says God, I will POUR OUT of My Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams: and on My servants and on My handmaidens I will POUR out in those days of My Spirit; and they shall prophesy.”

    Can a person be poured out? Are Christ and the Father ever referred to as being poured out?

    Also consider that, at baptism and conversion, Christians are given a “measure” of the Holy Spirit (Eph. 4:7). Can a person receive a measure of a person? No, but they can receive a measure of power, which must be continually exercised in order to grow. Paul wrote, “For I know that this shall turn to my salvation through your prayer, and the supply of the Spirit of Jesus Christ” (Phil. 1:19). A Christian is one who has been given a supply of the Holy Spirit. If it is not constantly replenished, that Spirit will run out, potentially until it is completely gone (Heb 6:4-6).

    As Matthew 25:14-30 shows, those who do not exercise God’s Spirit and “bring forth much fruit” (John 15:5, 16) will not be given eternal life in God’s kingdom. II Corinthians 4:16 shows that through enduring trials and sufferings, a Christian increases his supply of the Holy Spirit: “For which cause [being “always delivered unto death for Jesus’ sake” – vs. 11] we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the INWARD man is renewed day by day.”

    The Holy Spirit is something that needs to be renewed: “Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Spirit” (Titus 3:5). This verse is referring to the Holy Spirit at work inside a Christian’s mind. To renew something is to keep it active or current.

    In Matthew 12:31-32, Christ stated, “Wherefore I say unto you, All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men: but the blasphemy against the Holy [Spirit] shall not be forgiven unto men. And whosoever speaks a word against the Son of Man, it shall be forgiven him: but whosoever speaks against the Holy [Spirit], it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this world, neither in the world to come.”

    To speak against the Holy Spirit (often called “the unpardonable sin”) is to knowingly deny the power of God. Notice the context of Christ’s warning. He had just cast out a demon (vs. 22)—and the Pharisees accused Him of performing this miracle by the power of Satan (vs. 24). They recognized that Christ was from God, yet accused Him anyway. Notice John 3:2: “[Nicodemus] came to Jesus by night, and said unto Him, Rabbi, we know that You are a teacher come from God: for no man can do these miracles that You do, except God be with him.”

    Nicodemus said, “we know.” He was referring to himself and the other Pharisees. Since these leaders were well aware of the power by which Christ performed miracles, He warned about blasphemy against the Holy Spirit behind them.

    The other way in which one can commit blasphemy against the Holy Spirit is by allowing it to be quenched after having received it.  “For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy [Spirit], and have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come, if they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put Him to an open shame” (Heb. 6:4-6). Being enlightened (understanding the truth) can only happen when one has received the Holy Spirit (John 14:17; 15:26; 16:13; I Peter 1:22).

    CB;

    What you are concluding CB is that Jehovah God came himself, he did not sent his Son. In making such a conclusion you are contradicting what Christ taught. Jesus said his Father (Jehovah) sent him into the world. The Father did not come himself. Can you see that your doctrine changes the entire message of Jesus. The Father sent his Son and the Father remained in heaven according to Jesus. However, the Father was with Christ spiritually that is true. You could say that the Father came to us through his Son. Paul said that God was in Christ reconciling the world unto himself. If you look in the Gospels you will find that Christ is most often referred to as the Son of God. That is why I believe that the title Son of God is so important to the message of the Gospel. The term God in the New Testament is almost always used in relation to the Father, not the Son. The primary message is that God sent his Son who existed with the Father before the foundation of the world.

    Seeking the Truth;

    Very nice post. This is why it is important to understand God's work in Christ, so we can understand his work in us. He is bring many sons unto perfection (or maturity). When the Lord returns as a thief in the night without a trumpet, those which are faithful stewards will be given authority over all his goods. These are they that will do exploits during the tribulation time. Those who are ready will ascend to the hill of the Lord and rule in Zion (spiritually). The woman will be given wings to go to a wilderness place as seen in Revelation 12. Her child (the manchild) will be caught up to the throne of God and begin to rule with Christ with a rod of iron. The rebellious church will be as Lot, and will have to endure the tribulation or be martyred therein for the cause of Christ. Christ gave more parables regarding this event at his coming than any of his other teachings. It's absolutely amazing, yet very few are hearing the message of being ready for his return.

    Hello seeking truth, in response to your post I would like to say. I am 3 parts but I think I am one. To say that I am not 3 things is to say that the scripture is in error. Because it is extremely clear that there is a spirit,soul,and flesh relationship within us. Now our flesh is temporary and will be made imperishable after judgement. (There have been a few people who got to avoid the sting of death when God came for them but only 2 to my knowledge.) Everyone else has flesh that is mortal. Everyone of us has a soul that is the very breath from God breathed into the clay to make it a living soul.This was passed down from the first adam who recieved this to us who have not by his seed. Man also has a spirit which is reborn at baptism. John chap 3 vrs 5-6 [5) Jesus answered,”I tell you the truth, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless he is born of water and the Spirit. 6) Flesh gives birth to flesh,but the Spirit gives birth to spirit. Now the only reason something needs to be reborn is because it is dead. If we go back to my earlier post in corinthians we see that YWHW's Spirit works with our spirit to teach us his ways. Now even though I have been reborn I am still here. (but now I have a conscience that is more concerned with what the Fathers will is, than what I can do to gratify my worldly desires down here.) If you read all of chapter 2 in first corinthians it clearly defines how Gods Spirit speaks with our spirit to bring about that renewing of our minds. Now this chapter also shows that it is our spirit that is communicated with by the Father's Spirit not our soul or our flesh. Our spirit communicates the spiritual truths and spiritual words for they are spiritually discerned from the Holy Spirit. Without the rebirth of our spirit it is foolishness to us because we cannot discern it. Example: (our arms are important, so are our legs, they have different functions but they are still part of the body. We could exist without them but they do exactly what they are told when they are told. That is why I can write this very long post because my arms are doing my will.) They serve me but are still very much a part of me. I would not do without them or any other body part, for that matter, but yet still I am one. Paul says later in first corinthians chapter 14 vrs 14-15 [14) For if I pray in a toungue, my spirit prays but my mind is unfruitful. 15) so what shall I do? I will pray with my spirit,but I will also pray with my mind; I will sing with my spirit but I will also sing with my mind] This shows that our spirit clearly has a function that our soul and flesh do not. So even though there is a differnce in function I.E. leg and arm there is no seperation from the body that is me. Just differnet parts of the total. My earlier post is showing how just like the Holy Spirit works with God so does our spirit work with us. The scripture says [/B]same way[B] not me.

    Hi Steve,

    Didn't Jesus say that no one has ascended into heaven?
    Not Enoch or Moses or Elijah or John.

    Everyone dies a physical death.
    For 300 years Enoch walked with God while he lived.
    And then he was not any longer because God took him.
    God took him means that Enoch died. Just as we all will die.

    Enoch died just like all humans must die.
    Just because God at one point in time moved Enoch out of harms way so that he wouldn’t see death at that time, people preach that he never saw death.

    Carefully read Hbr 11:1 thru Hbr 11:13.
    You will find that
    -by faith Abel offered God a more excellent sacrifice
    -by faith Enoch was translated (moved) out of deaths path
    -by faith Noah prepared an ark
    -by faith Abraham obeyed when he was called
    – by faith Sara became with child

    And then Hbr 11:13 clearly says
    “These ALL died in faith….”

    All of these people (including Enoch) died in faith.

    I'm not sure what your point is here. In any case, the Mighty God and the Almighty God are both God.

    The words Mighty God is attributed to Jehovah as well as to Jesus who is Jehovah. See the following.

    Jer 32:18  Thou shewest lovingkindness unto thousands, and recompensest the iniquity of the fathers into the bosom of their children after them: the Great, the Mighty God, the LORD (Jehovah) of hosts, is his name,

    Hi IM4Truth.

    Here is conclusive proof that Jesus is the Almighty God.

    Rev 1:8  I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, .the Almighty.

    Here it states that the Alpha and the Omega is the Almighty.

    Rev 1:11  Saying, I am Alpha and Omega, the first and the last:

    Now it states that the Alpha and the Omega  is the first and the last:

    Rev 1:17  And when I saw him, I fell at his feet as dead. And he laid his right hand upon me, saying unto me, Fear not; I am the first and the last:
    Rev 1:18  I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death.

    Now it states that “the first and the last” was living, then dead, and now alive for evermore obviously refering to Jesus.

    Isa 44:6  So says Jehovah, the King of Israel, and His redeemer Jehovah of Hosts; I am the first, and I am the last; and besides Me there is no God.
    And here it says that the first and the last is Jehovah.

    It is easy to see that “the first and the last”, “Alpha and Omega”, “the Almighty”, and Jehovah are one and the same person JESUS

    You see, my friend, I am showing you the truth from scripture, that Jesus is Jehovah God.

    Mr Steve.

    Again you put the “twist” on my words as well as the scripture.

    So that you know who the Son is.

    Isa 9:6  For to us a Child is born, to us a Son is given; and the government shall be on His shoulder; and His name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.

    Joh 1:1  In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
    Joh 1:14  And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us,

    JOHN 5:17-18 But Jesus answered them, My Father worketh hitherto, and I work. (18) Therefore the Jews sought the more to kill him, because he not only had broken the sabbath, but said also that God was his Father, making himself equal with God.

    MATTHEW 1:23 Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.

    1Ti 3:16  And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.

    Compare
    Psa 45:6  Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: the sceptre of thy kingdom is a right sceptre
    With
    Heb 1:8  But unto the Son he saith, Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever:a sceptre of righteousness is the sceptre of thy kingdom.

    With
    MICAH 5:2 But thou, Bethlehem Ephratah, {though} thou be little among the thousands of Judah, {yet} out of thee shall he come forth unto me {that is} to be ruler in Israel; whose goings forth {have been} from of old, from everlasting.

    JOHN 5:23 That all {men} should honour the Son, even as they honour the Father.

    JOHN 20:28 And Thomas answered and said unto him, My Lord and my God.

    John 8:58  Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am
    Exo 3:14  And God said unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM: and he said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I AM   hath sent me unto you.

    MARK 2:5-10 When Jesus saw their faith, he said unto the sick of the palsy, Son, thy sins be forgiven thee. (6) But there were certain of the scribes sitting there, and reasoning in their hearts, (7) Why doth this {man} thus speak blasphemies? who can forgive sins but God only?

    CB;

    So you believe in Oneness. You make Christ a liar because he said he made it crystal clear in scripture that he was not the Father.

    Hi Cultbuster,

    Your conclusive proof only prooves that God is the Alfa and Omega, the first and last.

    Jesus always said that the words he spoke were the Father's not His.
    Even in the first verse of Rev. it is stated that the words are from God the Father who gave them to Jesus.

    Rev 1:1 ¶ The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave unto him, to shew unto his servants things which must shortly come to pass; and he sent and signified [it] by his angel unto his servant John:

    Doesn't it seem obvious that it is God who is saying that He is the Alpha and Omega, and He is saying it through Jesus.That is what
    Rev 1:1 tells us.

    Timothy VI;

    CB believes that the Son and the Almighty are the same person. CB believes that the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are all Jehovah. CB believes that the Almighty that spoke to Abraham was Jesus. CB believes that when Jesus said “I am” that conclusively proves that he is the Almighty God. Which is the same God which spoke to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, and Moses. I've been going around in circles with CB on this issue and he has posted the same answer in just about every response. The only way to understand the reasoning is to believe in Oneness. Good trinitarians even know the difference between the Father and the Son. By the way, if CB tries to state otherwise there are hundreds of his posts that confirm what I am saying is true.
