to all….. if i were to ask, what is Spirit, what would your answers be. Mine would be intellect in our minds is the spirit in us, because it's what moves us to do or speak things and guides our wills. And I believe Holy Spirit is intellect God which gives us our sense of truth and reality, with out which we have no true awareness of truth and reality. Jesus said satan was a lier and thief in the beginning and abode not in the truth (Because) the truth was not in him., but we are given the Spirit of Truth to be in us, thereby we have reality of what is true and what is a lie in us. Satan is a deciever and he himself is decieved because ithe truth is not in him.

Hello all, just coming in to the conversation I have been following little bits and pieces of the conversation. (First time at site last 3 days trying to catch up) In response to the latest comment on my screen. Would first corinthians chapter 2 vrs 6 on not say that there is a direct link between the spirit of man knowing his thoughts similiar to the way the Holy Spirit knows the thoughts of God.

It is a pleasure to discuss this with you Nick I have been reading differnt excerpts from this site for a couple of days and I sincerely respect and wish to hear your opinion on something.Nick In all the material I have read so far on this site I would like to just ask one thing. How are we created in the image of God? What are your thoughts on the tri une nature of man? ( spirit,soul,body ) Vrs the Tri une (not trinity ) nature of God. Is man 3 parts Created in the image of a 3 part God. The scripture I quoted earlier in conrinthians plus the one in thessalonians and in hebrews make it clear that the soul and spirit are different with in us. Romans chap 5 says that adam was created in the pattern of the one to come. What are your thoughts on that relating to Genisis 1:26-27

We are made in God's image according to the inner man as God is not flesh.

God is not triune.
God is one.
God has a son whom he sent into the world and filled with His Spirit making them one.

deny God is a Father and

Now I want you to realize that the head of every man is Christ, and the head of the woman is man, and the head of Christ is God.

God, Jesus, Man, Woman are all different identities, even if we have nature in common.

But is God really 3 parts? Well the following teaches against such a thought.

1 Corinthians 8:5-6
5 For even if there are so-called gods, whether in heaven or on earth (as indeed there are many “gods” and many “lords”),
6 yet for us there is but one God, the Father, from whom all things came and for whom we live; and there is but one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom all things came and through whom we live.

John 17:3
Now this is eternal life: that they may know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent.

Ephesians 4:4-6
4 there is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called to one hope when you were called
5 one Lord, one faith, one baptism;
6 one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all.

My Husband has given me good advice some time ago and I would like to share that with you.
He never starts a bible study without asking God for wisdom first and his Holy Spirit for guidance.
James 1:5 ” If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraided not; and it shall be given him.
Luke 11:13 “If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask Him!”

We have to realize that without God's Holy Spirit, no man will understand the things of God.

You are blessed to have a believing husband and one that prays and studies with you. My husband is supportive of my Bible study time, and he likes to hear what I have learned, but he has not yet taken his rightful spiritual place in our home. You are very blessed.

I am very encouraged by all the men here. So many families that I know – the women are the spiritual leaders – not because they want to be, but because their husbands do not step up for whatever reason. Anyway, God bless all the brothers who seek after God and lead their families!

Thank you brothers and sisters in christ. I was recommended to go to this site from a friend because he knows that I love and seek the Lord with all my heart. The current parallell bible that I have with 4 translations I know adequately enough but I have never stepped outside of those words. And having not stepped outside of this cannonical scripture I am a Firm believer in the triune nature. But as I post and hear about the way the spirit is leading other believers I have started investigating the cannon and reading books that were excluded like the book of enoch for example. I am clinging to the pre existence of yashua as he is called here but am now praying and reflecting on his relationship to the father. Even in my ingrained trinitarian belief I have always considered nothing above or in place of God. That everything even the other parts of him were subject to him because without him there is nothing and through the father and his will is everything. If there is time I would like to go through what I believe with other sincere believers to see if my iron needs sharpening. I am humble enough to listen but maybe to stubborn at times to change as easily as others I test the things of scripture and God extremely seriously but once I have spritual peace with a message I am not ashamed of it. Please be patient with me for I am sincerely seeking but I could see where it may get frustrating going back over old ground just because someone is not up to speed. So I appeal to your mercy and patience with me for I am A Trinity believer but I do not believe I know it all and am always open to what the spirit would teach so I will keep posting here and My prayer is that if there is something in me which needs to be exposed that the father through his word and spirit will guide me into all truths for I stand at the door and am knocking.:D

I also just wanted to say to Gene, I like your expression of the Set-apart Spirit. I believe that it does exist in our mind and soul, and everywhere Elohim wills it to be.

Just want to let you know that many times we disagree on this post and at times we get a little carried away. Hopefully we regret any words of our own that may hurt one another. Never the less we keep moving forward as a team. I think we are all important to eachother, each one having Spiritual gifts that will help us grow to the fullness of His grace.

Laurel…..> I do agree thet the Holy Spirit is a set apart spirit that the Father has given us. I would like to add aslo the word in Hebrew as well as Greek inplies a invisible force like the wind, remember when Jesus said born of Spirit was like the wind. you cant see wind but you can feel and see its force. I believe they used the word for wind becaues it best describes how the Spirit is an invisible force that efects us. thanks gene

Laurel….> I forgot to say also words are derived from invisible forces in us also, that why we are to try the spirits to see if they are of God. This takes (the set aside) Spirit to do acurately, peace to you…gene.
