Y'shua siad the Pharisees sit in the seat of Moses literally like the king's thrown. He said, “so do according to Moses, because the Pahrisees “say”, but they do not do.” Nick are you listening?July 9, 2007 at 1:28 am#58797NickHassan

So they were authorised to teach, but their teaching was wrong.
Their yeast was of antichrist.July 9, 2007 at 1:49 am#58799kejonn

Havnt you?
Eph 2:19
Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellowcitizens with the saints, and of the household of God;
Uh, no. Ephesians 2:19 has nothing to do with becoming one of God's chosen people, the children of Israel. We are Gentiles, plain and simple. Our citizenship is in heaven (Phil. 3:20). Isaiah was written specifically to the Israelites. We are grafted in, not as children of Israel, but into the inheritance that was initially intended only for them alone: salvation.

KSo Israel has their Husband, (the Father) and the Church has theirs (Jesus)?

Simple answer? Yes. Scripture backs me up. Why else is the distinction made? Do you doubt scripture?July 9, 2007 at 1:59 am#58806kejonn

KSo none of the Hebrew scriptures that applied to Israel should apply to the church?

That is false reasoning.2 Timothy 3:16 – All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness;
You just have to understand who scripture was written to in order to understand whether the application is valid.

ParticipantNick,
The Pharisees were authorized by Rome to the priesthood. Originally, the Levites were appointed, and their appointment was by YHWH.
The Pharisees of then are the Orthodox Jews of today. I learned this froma former Pharisee, and he was raised this way from a child. His father, his father, his father, generation after generation of rabbis, decended from the Pharisees and study the same books. They have their own set of rules above and beyond what Scripture teaches. Many laws such as a hand washing ritual, the little cap on the head, what shoe to put on first etc.
All this man made crap made the Torah of no effect. All the laws made the Sabbath to hard to follow. Many Jews in Israel today do not follow the Sabbath, because under Pharisee tradition it is just, “too hard to follow”, and the Sabbath is no longer a delight. It was these laws that Y'shua came do do away with. He never contradicted the laws of His Father. No never!!

Hi L,
Christ explained the OT law to those who asked about them.
The RICH YOUNG MAN asked what he could DO. So since he was asking about works he was told about the LAW.
Mt 19
16And, behold, one came and said unto him, Good Master, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life?17And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments.
18He saith unto him, Which? Jesus said, Thou shalt do no murder, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness,
19Honour thy father and thy mother: and, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.””
But he wanted more.
“20The young man saith unto him, All these things have I kept from my youth up: what lack I yet?”
He was then told about the WAY OF CHRIST. he was offered the KINGDOM of heaven, the kingdom of God. Christ is the only one who perfectly fulfilled the Law.
“21Jesus said unto him, If thou wilt be perfect, go and sell that thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come and follow me.
22But when the young man heard that saying, he went away sorrowful: for he had great possessions.
23Then said Jesus unto his disciples, Verily I say unto you, That a rich man shall hardly enter into the kingdom of heaven.
24And again I say unto you, It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.
25When his disciples heard it, they were exceedingly amazed, saying, Who then can be saved?
26But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible. “
You need to be careful what you ask.

ParticipantWhen He was alive as a man, He asked that we follow Him, and keep the commands as He did.
You will see some day. Like I said elsewhere we will not understand untill we obey. No obey, no comprehend.July 9, 2007 at 2:26 am#58811kejonn
ParticipantQuote (WorshippingJesus @ July 08 2007,07:46) Kejonn BTW.
You quote…
Quote
John 3:17 – “For God did not send the Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world might be saved through Him.”
Romans 5:9 – Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from the wrath of God through Him.
Ephesians 2:18 – for through Him we both have our access in one Spirit to the Father.
Hebrews 7:25 – Therefore He is able also to save forever those who draw near to God through Him, since He always lives to make intercession for them.None of these scriptures say we “Exist through him”. Key words “We exist”.
Look again…
For both are given equal attributes in the verse. The Father “from whom are all things and we exist for Him”
Jesus “by whom are all things, and we exist through Him”
Yet we read in another place that “All things were made by him and for him” meaning Jesus!
I've lost track here…what are we talking about? Nevermind, I think I see your point.
KJV is one of the very few that use “by Him” versus “through Him” in many more others including NASB, NIV, AMP, NKJV, YLT, Darby, HCSB. In fact the Greek word is “dia” and is translated as “through” 241 times in the KJV versus 88 times as “by”. Indeed a very weak basis for your theology.
Quote Rom 11:36
For of him, and through him, and to him, are all things: to whom be glory for ever. Amen.Weak! No! Your response is weak!
Love you to my freind!

Love you too, WJ! Only through the love of God can we love one another, even when or viewpoints differ! That's the awesome love of God!Anyway, you really should not use Romans 11:36 as a proof text. Romans 11 uses “God” so therefore cannot be definitively used to defend the Trinity because you assert Yeshua is the true God, others do not. Therefore, not concrete and too much wiggle room.

GeneBalthropParticipantNick …> i think Laurel is right on what she is saying the laws i.e. commandments were never done away with they are spritual and are from the Father, even Jesus told the rich young ruler to keep the commandments, but I know where you are comming from and proely it comes from Romans or Galations, where Paul said by obedience to the law no flesh will be justified before God , and who so ever is under the law is undewr a curse,. go back and reread these scriptures and remove the definite articles (the) they are not in the Greek text. You will see Paul was speaking about how we are keeping the commandments is under the Operation of Law he wasn't talking about, if we should or should not keep the commandments , Paul knew full we should keep them, it's the way we keep them that was the issue not if we should or not keep them. Peace to you…..gene

Hi L,
One thing we should be sure about is that Christ is our righteousness if we are reborn into him. He said come to me you who are heavy burdened and there is no heavier burden than sin. Why anyone would urge we continue in sin when we are offered forgiveness? That is why Jesus died?
Did he not need to die, to carry our sin?Listen to him.

Try Firefox. It is a great browser and extremely stable. It also has all these tabs which keeps all you web pages in 1 browser window. Convenient when you have Biblegateway, Google, a concordance, and Heaven Net open. It currently has 15% of the browser market and climbing.

I haven't read any book written or about Isaac Newtown. I watched a video not long ago that went in to his life and it was very interesting.
Thanks for the info on John Calvin and his father. I didn't know that.
If he indeed did this, then it reminds me of this scripture:
John 16:2

ProclaimerParticipantI found this quote from Sir Isaac Newton @
http://www.newtonproject.sussex.ac.uk/texts….malizedBut to return to the prayers of the Saints: You heard how Gregory compared them for their sighs teares groanes & crying to a city broken up in war by an enemy. This was the face of the city at his installment, but with what inward greif they bare it afterward, he tells you thus.
By the greatness of their agony you may guess at the more then ordinary fervour & constancy of their secret prayers. Nor was it a wonder this change should afflict them so considering how much they abominated the religion of the invaders for they looked upon them coequal trinity a [100] as a doctrin of many Gods, as indeed it is in reality especially according to the language of the Greeks.

ParticipantNick,
We are all sinners. Before I learned that the law was a delight and a light in this dark world, I sinned, mostly because I didn't know I was sinning. Some commands are more in depth thatn they appear. When I realized the meaning of these sins that I had been doing, wow! I knew how aweful I had been. I really came to grips with reality. I saw how my sin hurt My Savior. I also saw Him saying to His Father, “Forgive them Father, they know not what they do.” This revelation I had caused me to look at the law in a whole new way. A way that was non-traditional for the churches. I now have this law written in my heart, in my mind and my soul. It has become a part of me. I have literraly taken up my cross. I will repent of my sin and do my best to remain free of it. I am now considered to be above the law. I follow the living Messiah who is the Son of the living Father. I am in my Father and my Father is in me. His Word is a light for my path. I walk in His path all the day long, from when I get up untill I go to bed.
May your heart be filled with His grace.July 9, 2007 at 3:42 am#58827NickHassan
ParticipantHi L,
Repentance by itself does not save us and needs to be associated with the forgiveness of God.Acts 2
“38Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.39For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the LORD our God shall call. “
Once you are in Christ then you still sin but have an intercessor to wash your feet.[Jn13]
1Jn 1
” 7But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.8If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
9If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
10If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.”

ParticipantHi,
This thread is meant to be on trinity.
But it is OK because there is none in scripture .July 9, 2007 at 5:00 am#58836
GeneBalthropParticipantto all I give you my opinion on the way i view the question of the trinity, through my years of studying and compairing scripture this what i think .
>…. Jesus only preexisted in the plan of God and that was at the very beginning of the world and at the proper time God created him and brought him forth through a vergin birth in which he manipilated the DNA in mary by overshadowing her by his spirit.
Jesus was an ordinary human being and learned as he grew up, he also obviously was taught by God because he had the spirit without measure he became fully aware of who he was, through his parents, scripture , and God the Father teaching him. he became fully aware of his destiny and his purpose and place in history and time.
God's Spirit the Spirit of truth was guiding him on everthing he was doing and he gave God the full credit never stealing the glory to himself.
he was the perfect Man an exact Image of the Father, But while reflecting the Fathers image never tried to make himself equal to the Father by taking what God was doing through him to himself, God put His words in Him and told him not only what to say but how to say it.
he was our example of what the Father wants us all the be like and with The Father's Spirit we can reach to the Full measure of Christ, just like it say's until we all come to the full unity of the Spirit. God is reconciling all the creation to himself through the Christos or Holy Spirit. There is nothing impossible for us through the Christos or holy spirit that has been given us through God.s sacrifice for our sins which was Jesus the annoited or christos, he was God's sacrifice offered for our sin's and not ours only but the sin's of the whole world.
he was quite unique, but still a human being like you and me he had no special advantage apart from God if God would not have been with him he would fared no better then any of us.
But God deminstrated his righteousness and power He could perform in a human being just like us.
we need to become Just like Jesus, it is the Father's will and when we do we will have grown to the full measure of our Brother Jesus and the Father will say we are his beloved childern in whom He is well pleased.
thats my take I believe it was all one God's work from start to finish.
peace to all and forgive me if I offended anyone… your brother in Christ……gene
