To all……Mic 6:8……He has shown you O man what is good; and what does the LORD require of you, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and walk humbly with your God?
GRACE is ….UNMERITED pardon And favor shown us by GOD THE FATHER,
Rom 9:15-16…..For he says to MOSES, i will have mercy on whom I have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion. So then it is not of him that “WILLS”, nor of him that “RUNS”, but “OF” God that shows mercy.
peace and love to you and yours. ……………….gene
Jn 3:21 But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what he has done has been done through God
pay attention to the first few words of that scriptures and learn
Jn 4:24 God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in spirit and in truth.”
Jn 17:17 Sanctify them by the truth; your word is truth.
all those scriptures have one thing in common and that is the word “TRUTH”
February 24, 2015 at 7:23 am#789495NickHassanParticipantHi GB,
Where does your definition come from?
UNMERITED PARDON only?
Which theology?
February 24, 2015 at 9:55 am#789498kerwinParticipantT,
I am not following your comment as I do not see where what you said changes anything about what we are speaking about.
February 24, 2015 at 9:57 am#789499kerwinParticipantNick,
Natural man walks in his own light and does not know God’s opinion of his way.
Yes

DON’T WORRY ABOUT IT

Everything we are comes from God. Only our rebellion comes does not and it does not merit anything from God. It is therefore impossible for use to do anything to merit grace except do what God created us to do and we cannot do that using human effort. That is why the servant tells his Lord “I did only what I was told”.
I do know that Jesus did not lie when he promised those that hunger and thirst to be like God in true righteousness will hunger and thirst no longer. They clearly “merit” their reward because they hunger and thirst and yet God created them.
February 24, 2015 at 10:07 am#789502kerwinParticipantT,
As you say.
February 24, 2015 at 8:20 pm#789508NickHassanParticipantHi KW,
Grace is more than forgiveness.
It is everything to the elect.
February 25, 2015 at 5:22 am#789523GeneBalthropParticipantNick…….Did we merit, the forgiveness of our sins, THROUGH the death of JESUS?, NO we did not, it is given to us by the GRACE OF GOD, For it is by GRACE WE ARE SAVED, IT IS A “GIFT” OF GOD, to the end that no one can boast, for while we were yet in ou sins CHRIST JESUS, died for us. Therefore having been justified before God by his death, we shall all live with him , for it is by GRACE we “HAVE” (past tense) been saved. Not by the way law works, but by FAITH, IN THE SACRIFICE OF JESUS THE Christ of God.
That is where i get my definition of GRACE AS BEENING UNMERITED PARDON brother, and what ever else grace brings it still “WORKS” through love. IMO
What does grace of God mean to you Nick?
peace and love to you and yours. ………….gene
February 27, 2015 at 8:03 am#789640kerwinParticipantNick,
All things are connected but grace was available under the Law of Moses as well. I am looking to see what others think is the difference between the Law of Mosses and the covenant of Jesus Christ.
February 27, 2015 at 8:23 am#789641NickHassanParticipantHi GB,
We do not need your theological definitions that limit the meaning of grace
What does scripture say?
February 27, 2015 at 8:24 am#789642NickHassanParticipantHi KW,
Flesh contributes nothing.
All the works of God among men have always been of grace.
February 27, 2015 at 1:29 pm#789655GeneBalthropParticipantNick…..Those are you words not mine, please show where i limited GRACE, BY SAYING IT IS UNMERITED PARDON. In fact if you say it is not unmerited pardon you are yourself limiting GRACE to fit your theological dogmas.
Peace and love to you and yours. ………………gene
March 3, 2015 at 8:26 am#789816NickHassanParticipantHi GB,
Pardon only means forgiveness.
Do you think that is all that Jesus Christ brought from God?
“I can do all things through Him Who strengthens me”
March 4, 2015 at 9:55 am#789881kerwinParticipantNick,
As you say, God’s work are of grace. He showed grace to his servant King David, although the later committed murder, and promised that the Christ would be made of his seed according to the flesh.
March 4, 2015 at 10:04 am#789882NickHassanParticipantHi KW,
Do you not think all of the works done by the servants of God are by grace?
March 4, 2015 at 10:11 am#789883kerwinParticipantGene,
You seem to hold to a doctrinal definition of grace. In scripture is does not mean that. The word means that which gives pleasure. For example a gift. It can also be used mean the gift itself or for the thanks for that gift. The last is why it is said that those that give thanks for a meal are saying grace.
The doctrinal definition is only saying what the ones using it say the pleasure is.
March 4, 2015 at 10:28 am#789884NickHassanParticipantHi KW,
I have??
With great power the apostles continued to testify to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus. And God’s grace was so powerfully at work in them all
Now Stephen, a man full of God’s grace and power, performed great wonders and signs among the people.Acts 11:23
When he arrived and saw what the grace of God had done, he was glad and encouraged them all to remain true to the Lord with all their hearts.March 4, 2015 at 3:13 pm#789921kerwinParticipantNick,
I know the works done by God’s servant are by grace because there is no way to please God without God’s grace.
