Jesus told us men were called gods.
You would tell him they were false gods?
Nick…WRONG!, what i said was, they were GOD’S IN A “POSSEVE” SENSE OF THE WORD, JESUS NEVER SAID THEY WERE GODS, IN A SENSE THAT MEN ARE GOD BEINGS, HE SAID THEY WERE GOD’S IN A POSSEVE Sense. why do you think it says they were God’s unto whom the word of GOD CAME. Jesus was quoting scripture about their fathers, as God considered them his possesion. Why try to makr Jesus and God the Father out to be liars? You seem to understand those scriptures but not the sense they were given. It appears you need to LISTEN to the spirit yourself in order to get the CORRECT understand of what Jesus was really saying. Notice Jesus after saying that, he never said he was also a God, now did he, which would be exactly what he would say if the point was that they were God beings. But he told them, why were the upset with him then, saying he was a son of God, why, because that also meant, he was GOD’S POSSESION ALSO. That whole dialog was never about those people being any kind of GODS AT ALL. NO JEW WOULD ever say that then or now, not even JESUS , because if he did , that would make him a liar, because he said to GOD THE FATHER HE WAS THE “ONLY” TRUE GOD. Those men were not Gods of any kind, but if you know of a man God please name one, it would be very interesting to have you tell us you men God’s, or at least one can you?
We are told to properly devide the word of God, showing ourselves approved unto GOD As workmen not to be ashamed.

Nick has a point because it is not possessive. That is just a claim that comes out of your head. The only support you have fore that claim is that you claim it is so. That is not solid or valid evidence. Why should Nick or anyone else believe you?

The Koine Greek genitive form of a noun can be possessive the the words gods is not genitive. It is instead accusative. I do not know of any case when an accusative noun takes the possessive form. In short the spirit of your claim tests false. You can continue making it but that does not change the fact that it tests false. Instead it makes you look non-credible as a witness.

LOOK IF YOU AND NICK WANT THERE TO BE OTHER GOD’S, THEN HAVE AT IT, WE WILL SEE IN THE END WHO IS RIGHT OR WRONG. BUT I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW FROM EACH OF YOU IF YOU CAN JUST NAME “ONE” OTHER GOD, YOU KNOW OF, NOW THAT CAN NOT BE ASKING TO MUCH OF YOU BOTH, JUST ONE EACH, PLEASE NAME WHO ONE PRESENT GOD IS TO YOU PEOPLE. OWE THATS RIGHT WE ARE “ALL” “GODS” AFTER ALL JESUS DID SAY WE ARE “ALL’ GODS, EVEN THOUGH HE NEVER SAID HE WAS A GOD OF ANY KIND HIMSELF. IN FACT AS I RECALL HE SAID THEY WERE THE CHILDERN OF THE DEVIL, SEEMS YOU HAVE A CONFLICT AS TO WHAT JESUS REALLY DID SAY ABOUT THOSE PEOPLE, THAT IS AS TO WHAT THEY “REALLY” WERE.

Nick…..my obsession? So scriptures are not good enough, now it’s my obsession and me judging others. So, those scriptures do not altar on whit the fact that Jesus was not using a possessive when he stated “he called them gods to whom the word of God came”.
I will not claim that their is possessive there even if it supports my chosen doctrine as that claim is clearly untrue.
On the other hand Israel is God’s possession.
Seriously I don’t believe you guys are disagreeing on anything but semantics. There is only One True God and yes there were others called gods in-fact there are idols today called and even God said about Moses: Exodus 7:1 Then the LORD said to Moses, “See, I have made you like God to Pharaoh, and your brother Aaron will be your prophet.
This doesn’t mean Moses was a TRUE God any more than Jesus was a TRUE God because as it was written: Acts 2:22King James Version (KJV)
22 Ye men of Israel, hear these words; Jesus of Nazareth, a man approved of God among you by miracles and wonders and signs, which God did by him in the midst of you, as ye yourselves also know:
This simply means as humans we see things as Godlike when they reach our threshold of understanding as with Paul after the viper bit him:
Acts 28:6New International Version (NIV)
6 The people expected him to swell up or suddenly fall dead; but after waiting a long time and seeing nothing unusual happen to him, they changed their minds and said he was a god.
We all know and understand that Paul was in no way a god and this is the whole point of Gene that I agree with and you should all agree with, There IS NO GOD except GOD ALMIGHTY…..NO NOT ONE
