So where does scripture say the Son of God is an angel or have you stuck what you see as inferences together with logic glue and offer that as evidence?
Was Jesus less than the angels and is he now greater than them?
How then can he BE one?

Nick, was Jehoiachin not an exiled king in Babylon since he was listed as separate from that group?

It seems he was “greater than” the exiled kings, so how then can he be one?

Yes to all, Nick.

But human prophets are “malakim” in the Hebrew, and “aggelos” in the Greek.  So are spirit messengers of God.

The word simply means “messenger”, Nick.  So consider this scripture translated as it should be:

Hebrews 1:4
So he became as much superior to the messengers as the name he has inherited is superior to theirs.

Nick, how can Jesus BE a messenger and be superior to them at the same time?

Surely the word “OTHER” is implied, right?  As in “superior to the OTHER messengers”?

Just like in the 2 Kings scripture I just quoted for you.  Which is why many translators have added the word OTHER into that verse, since that is what is clearly implied.
