Nick;
I'm not sure why you do not accept II Thes as authoritative here.
Paul says the literal coming of the Lord will not come until the Son of Perdition is revealed, he sits in the temple and declares he is God, he opposes all and exalts himself as God. Paul says that this man is a prelude to the coming of Jesus Christ and the resurrection.
After the woman brings forth the manchild and is caught away to a wilderness place for 42 months in Rev 12, the antichrist is described in Rev 13 performing the same as described in II Thes. It's all there.
The saints that are not caught away, (the foolish virgins) are then persecuted by the antichrist for 42 months. Those are the saints that are alive and remain (the ones that aren't killied) until the coming of Christ in glory.

Those who sit in temples and declare they are god are not necessarily rulers.February 18, 2008 at 8:42 pm#82069Mr. SteveParticipantNick;
He persecutes the saints. The son of perdition. He proclaims he is God. Even Hitler didn't do that.

November 12, 2009 at 3:01 am#156144GeneBalthropParticipantMr. Steve……….The man of sin is a false image of Jesus as a GOD, He is the (ONLY) one to Sits in the temple of GOD being displayed as a GOD. Remember It say it is a (LIE) and those given a deluding Spirit would believe THE LIE, because they did not recieve the love of Truth. THE LIE is that Jesus is a GOD Being. as taught by trinitarian Christianity. There is NO REAL man of SIN, it is a LIE about JESUS>
peace and love……………………gene

You seemed keen to offer your thoughts on these matters.
not so?November 13, 2009 at 12:44 am#156333georgParticipantQuote (acertainchap @ Aug. 07 2007,00:43) Are “The Hour of Tribulation” and “The Great Tribulation” one in the same?
chapThere is no tribulation called “the great tribulation”, in Rev. 7:14 it says; “these are they which came out of great tribulation”.
The hour of temptation I believe, is for our time, it says, “because thou hast kept the word of my patience”. We as believers have not given up on God's promise, waiting patiently for the return of Christ, keeping in his word. This temptation which shall come upon the whole world, is God's wrath.Georg

He will lead them to springs of living water.

After the millennium, when Satan will be loosed out of his prison, there will be one final test for all mankind; any one that follows Satan will be destroyed, but it is not a tribulation.
Also, Jesus will merry his bride/church before the millennium, they, the saints, will reign with Christ.Georg

Hi T,
You assume too much.The book is not necessarily always sequential describing the same events many ways.
