AndrewAD,
He clearly plays to his audience. Some of may come off false and to many of those who object to giving money to a church would object to giving money to just about anything. Hopefully he is seeking God’s righteousness and kingdom and not his own sinful interests.
October 20, 2015 at 1:57 pm#804018NickHassanParticipantHi KW,
You say
“Scripture tells us to judge less we be judged.”
Odd
Scriptures says “Judge NOT lest you be Judged”
??
October 20, 2015 at 3:41 pm#804019kerwinParticipantNick,
Your need to read my whole post as Scripture does teach us to Judge lest we be judged for it teaches us to judge our life and doctrine less we be condemned.
It is a lesson how the same words can be interpreted to be interpreted to mean different things.
Here is an example of the same lesson from Scripture.
Proverbs 26:4-5Authorized (King James) Version (AKJV)
4
Answer not a fool according to his folly,
lest thou also be like unto him.5
Answer a fool according to his folly,
lest he be wise in his own conceit.October 20, 2015 at 4:35 pm#804020NickHassanParticipantHi KW,
Where does it say we should judge those of the world?
October 20, 2015 at 5:16 pm#804021NickHassanParticipantHi KW,
Do unto others as you would like done to you.
Do you like being judged?
October 20, 2015 at 5:39 pm#804022kerwinParticipantNick,
So you fail to understand the lesson of Proverbs 26:4-5.
What other lessons do you not understand?
October 20, 2015 at 5:41 pm#804023NickHassanParticipantHi KW,
Why do you oppose the teachings of Christ?
October 20, 2015 at 5:45 pm#804024kerwinParticipantNick,
You oppose the teachings of Christ because you do not understand them. If you did then you would understand it necessary to have the listen to the Spirit in order to understand the words of God.
The letter of Scripture can be interpreted in different ways but the Spirit is the way to truth.
October 21, 2015 at 8:24 am#804025NickHassanParticipantHi KW,
To boast of your understanding when you say what you do is a bit rich.
Why would anyone bound to Christ turn back to walk with the schoolmaster who led him there?
October 21, 2015 at 9:33 am#804026kerwinParticipantNick,
I see no boasting; just disappointment that one that claims to be a brother did not understand that basic point. Cast off that which obscures your sight.
October 21, 2015 at 10:16 am#804027NickHassanParticipantHi KW,
You claim to see but look backwards?
October 21, 2015 at 11:27 am#804028NickHassanParticipantHi KW,
Are you a brother?
October 27, 2015 at 9:58 am#804222ProclaimerParticipantNick, it is still true that we need to receive him and believe in his name, so we have the right to become children of God. Of course not all will exercise that right, but it is true that you need to start with believing in him, receiving him, because he is the messiah. If you do not do that, then you have no right to become a child of God.
It is not wrong to preach that we need to believe upon the Lord Jesus and receive him. If it were wrong, then you need to criticize John and Paul in the least and you would have to claim that you are correcting their supposed error.
October 27, 2015 at 10:35 am#804231kerwinParticipantt8,
What Jesus does Comfort teach us to believe in?
October 28, 2015 at 3:45 pm#804279ProclaimerParticipantAs far as I know he preaches Jesus Christ of Nazareth who is the messiah and the son of God. However, he also preaches that he is God and this is what I have a problem with. I have corrected him couple of times and will probably do it again. It might make him think about it if I word it with scripture and not my own understanding.
October 28, 2015 at 6:47 pm#804284kerwinParticipantt8,
Considering the length of time he has studied Scripture he already know that Jesus is not God but is in denial. Denial is a tough thing to handle.
October 29, 2015 at 11:02 am#804285ProclaimerParticipantYes. Although, when most who repent and believe are also taught about the Trinity in the early stage of their faith, it is not often challenged. But I believe if people are true, when the truth is revealed to them, they will know in their heart that this is either true or worth checking out.
Hopefully my challenge is even noticed by him. It seems to me that he goes to all the trouble of preaching to sinners, only to fall over a hurdle when he says that God became a man.
October 29, 2015 at 8:18 pm#804293Lox1ParticipantThe Lord God spoke ” The Word ” and Jesus came into being.
Jesus is the very essence of God, whom is called ” The Son Of God”.
In laymen’s terms : God gave man 3 chances to realize his sinful way.
First was the Abrahamic Covenant ( about 613 laws ),then the Mosaic Covenant ( 12 laws ) Then God sent Jesus ( the essence of Gods very being ) to try to get into our thick heads that we must believe upon
God ( witch is Jesus) and repent. When Jesus ascended to heaven
God would never leave us alone, so he sent his spirit ( Holy Spirit ) to
dwell within us. A spirit comes from a being, hence the name ” spirit ”
God had so become a man, to be able to relate to man. Everything
Jesus went through here on earth, temptation , hunger, thirst , etc.
was so man couldn’t say, ” how does he know what lonely feels like he’s
God “.
And YES God is the “only” way to salvation
John 14:6 Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through meOctober 29, 2015 at 8:19 pm#804294Lox1ParticipantIm sure that will get a raging response , but just think about it for a minute !
October 30, 2015 at 8:53 am#804305kerwinParticipantLox1,
The Abrahamic covenant had fewer laws that you credit it with and the Law of Moses more.
The 613 laws are 3rd Century Jewish interpretation of the Law of Moses.
