Hi,
Scripture tells us Christ means messiah and it also means anointed. God does not need to be anointed and has none greater to anoint him. Scripture says Jesus was anointed with the Holy Spirit and power. This means of course before that anointed he did not have such blessings. So it was not Almighty God who came in flesh as an infant and in His own power but these were given him by a greater Being, God, his Father.February 28, 2007 at 10:56 pm#43294NickHassanParticipantHi,
Acts 2
36Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath made the same Jesus, whom ye have crucified, both Lord and Christ.God made Jesus His Christ.

Acts 10
” 38How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.”
God anointed Jesus with His spirit.March 1, 2007 at 10:12 pm#43380NickHassanParticipantHi,
If Jesus was not anointed by God then he is not the Christ.March 1, 2007 at 11:32 pm#43384PhoenixParticipantHi Nick
This is Baptism? Or God did this at another period of time?

Trinity teaches that God came in the flesh and thus as none can anoint God or give Him any more grace than He already has as He is the source of all grace Jesus was not anointed. Thus Christ could not be Christ as he was anointed.March 2, 2007 at 1:27 am#43398NickHassanParticipantHi,
Christ was anointed with the Holy Spirit and power according to scripture. Thus before that anointing he had neither of these things.April 13, 2007 at 2:54 am#48810NickHassanParticipantHi,
The messiah or Christ is not also the God Who sent him and empowered him.
First the vineyard owner sent his slave\prophets and nobody thought they were God.
Why should the beloved Son be confused with the God Whose message of salvation he brought?May 5, 2007 at 9:55 pm#51454NickHassanParticipantHi,
If Jesus was our God then we still need to wait for Christ.
Christ is not our God.December 11, 2007 at 7:53 pm#74502NickHassanParticipantHi gene,
You may wish to add to this thread.
Scripture tells us Christ means Messiah.
Jesus was the anointed one, the one anointed with the fullness of the Holy Spirit of God.March 18, 2008 at 9:44 pm#84232NickHassanParticipantHi,
Scripture shows that the proof Jesus is the Christ is that he was raised from the dead.Acts 17:31
because He has fixed a day in which He will judge the world in righteousness through a Man whom He has appointed, having furnished proof to all men by raising Him from the dead.”August 2, 2008 at 9:43 pm#99947NickHassanParticipantHi,
False christs, we were warned about, those who claim the anointing of God
but have another source of understanding and even power.Matthew 24:24
“For false Christs and false prophets will arise and will show great signs and wonders, so as to mislead, if possible, even the elect.Mark 13:22
for false Christs and false prophets will arise, and will show signs and wonders, in order to lead astray, if possible, the elect.August 3, 2008 at 2:29 am#99961GeneBalthropParticipantNick….right many appear Godly but in truth are only imitators and have not the spirit of GOD in them at all, but only appear religious and come quoting Scriptures and are very good at it but lack the knowledge of truth and are decieved and the deceivers of many and using the word of God as there cloak of righteousness but inwardly are not converted at all. Anyone that does not have the same purpose of God in them are simply not of God. If God will all to be saved and non parish and anyone who does not desire and will that, simply does not have the love or Spirit of God in them.
August 3, 2008 at 2:47 am#99964GeneBalthropParticipantTo All….Jesus came to save the WORLD not to CONDEMN it or anyone, In fact He said he judged no man. Our purpose must be the same as His purpose . If the spirit that was in Christ be in you, and the Spirit of Christ was Gods Spirit and God WILL is, that non parish and All come to repentance, if we say we have that Spirit in us then that WILL will be ours also. Just as it says He who condemns another condemns himself. So let us not judge or condemn judges each other anymore.
Peace to you ALL………gene
August 3, 2008 at 4:12 am#99971NickHassanParticipantHi GB,
Indeed he came not in judgement but in the mercy of God.
But when he returns as judge then he wil divide the flock of man into sheep and goats.August 3, 2008 at 4:13 pm#99992GeneBalthropParticipantNick…….Yes he will divide the (NATIONS) and separate them one from another, the sheep from the goats . Some nations have given more to others then other have, but the principle does apply to people individually also i believe. Like the parable of the good Seminarian . If we have compassion on others GOD will have compassion on us also.
Peace……….gene

To others?
To him.August 4, 2008 at 9:16 am#100056gollamudiParticipantA question to all; was the Christ of God preexisted prior to Jesus?
