James 1:1   James, a servant of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ, to the twelve tribes which are scattered abroad, greeting.

WAS THIS LETTER JUST FOR THEM BACK THEN?  OR IS IT FOR US TODAY ALSO?
AT THE TIME OF THE LETTER, DID IT REACH CHINA, RUSSIA, INDIA, OR THE USA WHICH WAS NOT EVEN DISCOVERED UNTIL 1492?  OR AUSTRALIA NOT DISCOVERED UNTIL TILL THE 1600'S OR EVEN ICELAND NOT DISCOVERED UNTIL IN 874.

LETS NOT KID OURSELVES.  WE KNOW THOSE APOSTLES WHO WERE FIRST CHOSEN BY CHRIST WERE ISRAELITES, AND THEIR DISCIPLES WERE ISRAELITES WHO WENT OUT OF ISRAEL, AND BECAUSE THEY FOLLOWED THE TEACHINGS OF JESUS CHRIST, THEY WILL TAKE PART IN THE FIRST RESURRECTION, ….AND ARE NUMBERED WITH THE SAINTS, NOT AMONGST THE TRIBES…..BUT DID THEIR WORD REACH THE ENDS OF THE EARTH AT THE TIME OF THIS LETTER?
NO, IT HADN'T EVEN REALLY STARTED TO SPREAD.  THIS DID NOT HAPPEN UNTIL 1611, WHEN GOD MADE SURE, WE GENTILES HAD HIS VERY OWN WORD IN ONE BOOK, AT OUR DISPOSAL.

OK, IT SAYS THE 12 TRIBES WHO ARE “SCATTERED ABROAD”, SO THIS COULD JUST MEAN TURKEY, GREECE, ROME OR ANTIOCH, OR AS FAR AS THEY REACHED, AND THIS CAN BE DEBATED – BUT WHAT CANNOT BE DEBATED IS THAT THE LETTER IS ADDRESSED TO THE 12 TRIBES.

IF THE LETTER TO THE 12 TRIBES WERE FOR ISRAELITES ONLY, THEN WHERE DO THE GENTILES FIT IN?
    THEY DON'T.
SO WHY DID YOU AND I, THE GENTILES GET THIS LETTER ALSO, IF IT WASNT ADDRESSED TO US?  DO WE IGNORE THE LETTER, OR DO WE HOLD ON TO IT TIGHTLY?

SCRIPTURE TELLS US THAT ISRAEL REJECTED THE TEACHINGS OF CHRIST, AND THE NEW COVENANT WENT OUT TO THE GENTILES INSTEAD, BECAUSE ISRAEL DID NOT ACCEPT THE SON OF GOD OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST AS MENTIONED THROUGHOUT THE WHOLE NEW TESTAMENT.
SO THESE 12 TRIBES COULD NOT BE REFERRING TO PHYSICAL ISRAEL. IT DOES NOT EVEN SAY THE 12 TRIBES “OF ISRAEL” BUT JUST “12 TRIBES”

THERE WERE 12 TRIBES OF ISRAEL, THERE IS NO DOUBT IN THAT.
BUT OUT OF THOSE TRIBES OF ISRAEL IN REV 7, ONLY 12,000 WERE SEALED OUT OF EVERY TRIBE.  THIS TOTALS 144,000 SEALED ONES OUT OF ALL THOSE TRIBES.

AND WHO ARE THESE SEALED ONES?

Revelation 7:3   Saying, Hurt not the earth, neither the sea, nor the trees, till we have sealed the servants of our God in their foreheads.
Revelation 7:4   And I heard the number of them which were sealed: and there were sealed an hundred and forty and four thousand of all the tribes of the children of Israel.
Revelation 14:1   And I looked, and, lo, a Lamb stood on the mount Sion, and with him an hundred forty and four thousand, having his Father's name written in their foreheads.
Revelation 14:4   These are they which were not defiled with women; for they are virgins. These are they which follow the Lamb whithersoever he goeth. These were redeemed from among men, being the firstfruits unto God and to the Lamb.
Revelation 14:5   And in their mouth was found no guile: for they are without fault before the throne of God.

To follow the Lamb, one must know him.
To be without fault, one must know the will of God contained in the scriptures.  So he will know his scriptures.
To teach error, one will be in fault, for the devil has corrupted and twisted the scriptures, and there must be a line between truth and error, because God takes pride in his Word, that it is true, faultless, dependable and gives life
….And those who declare this are a testimony for the glory of God and the Lamb, that his word is true.
I believe the 144,000 of the last days were not sent out into the world to witness Christ, for all have heard, and others used to declare his name…but these were sent to the brothers, so the honest ones, will see how important it is to feed, and know the prophesies, so they can be prepared for what is coming, and the more they feed on the Word of God, and get into the solids, the stronger their faith will be, to survive and get through what is coming.

BUT IN THESE LAST DAYS, THE MOST EVIL OF DAYS SINCE THE BEGINNING OF TIME, IT HAS SURPASSED THE WICKEDNESS OF THE FIRST WORLD DESTROYED BY THE FLOOD, AND EVEN SURPASSED THE WICKEDNESS OF SODOM AND GOMORRAH.

SO THESE ARE VERY HARD TIMES.

NO WONDER THE 144,000 ARE SPECIAL.  THEY ARE IN THE THICK OF IT.  TO FOLLOW THE LAMB IN SPIRIT AND IN TRUTH DURING THESE EVIL DAYS WHEN LOVE HAS WAXED COLD, AND ABOMINATIONS HAVE REACHED NEW HEIGHTS, WOULD BE A TOUGH MISSION ON THEIR BEHALF.

I BELIEVE THESE SCRIPTURES IN JAMES ARE ESPECIALLY FOR THE 144,000 WHO FOLLOW CHRIST. WHETHER JEW OR GENTILE IT MAKES NO DIFFERENCE.  THEY ARE OF THE LAST GENERATION AND WILL WITNESS AND DECLARE BEFORE HAND ALL THAT GOD HAS REVEALED, AND WILL BE TREATED AS OUTCASTS, JUST LIKE THE PROPHETS WERE, AND THE APOSTLES.  SO THIS LETTER IS TO THEM, AND NOT ONLY THE BOOK OF JAMES, BUT ALL THE EPISTLES.  THERE ARE TOUGH REQUIREMENTS HERE, THAT ALL CHRISTIANS ARE NOT OBSERVING.  GOD IS REMINDING THEM, THAT THEY ARE GOING TO LOSE THEIR COOL, BECAUSE OF THE OPPRESSION OF THE ENEMY, WHICH IS IN THEIR OWN HOUSE. …BROTHERS AGAINST BROTHERS, AND TO STAY STRONG AND KEEP THE BOND OF LOVE.

     James 1:2   My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations;
James 1:3   Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience.
James 1:4   But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.
James 1:5   If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.
James 1:6   But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed.
James 1:7   For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord.
James 1:8   A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.
James 1:9   Let the brother of low degree rejoice in that he is exalted:
James 1:10   But the rich, in that he is made low: because as the flower of the grass he shall pass away.
James 1:11   For the sun is no sooner risen with a burning heat, but it withereth the grass, and the flower thereof falleth, and the grace of the fashion of it perisheth: so also shall the rich man fade away in his ways.
James 1:12   Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him.
James 1:13   Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man:
James 1:14   But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed.
James 1:15   Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death.
James 1:16   Do not err, my beloved brethren.
James 1:17   Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.

James 1:18   Of his own will begat he us with the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures.

James 1:19   Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath:
James 1:20   For the wrath of man worketh not the righteousness of God.
James 1:21   Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and recei
ve with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls.
James 1:22   But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.
James 1:23   For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass:
James 1:24   For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was.
James 1:25   But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.
James 1:26   If any man among you seem to be religious, and bridleth not his tongue, but deceiveth his own heart, this man's religion is vain.
James 1:27   Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world.

    Hi J42,
Indeed the Word is the seed and when heard it grows all by itself in good soil producing the ear and then the corn in the ear.

    Hi J42,
Indeed they will know him because now the Lord is the Spirit which was poured on them and they will follow the Spirit according to the Word

That seems to contradict mt 24.14 and rev 14.6

    Hi J42,
The gospel of salvation in Jesus Christ is rarely preached anywhere.
False prophets and false teachers have far bigger followings.

“Knowing the prophecies”is the feeding ground for the intellectuals.

    Hi Nick

    Yes true,

Hebrews 12:1   Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,

Philippians 2:16   Holding forth the word of life; that I may rejoice in the day of Christ, that I have not run in vain, neither laboured in vain.

    Hi J42,
Yes the gospel is more important than understanding the prophecies

My post is to primarily show that the letter of James is to the 144,000, so that they can achieve being  “that kind of firstfruits” .
They are the ones that will take note of these scriptures.  This is called feeding on the flesh of Christ. Obeying EVERYTHING.
This is what obeying the commandments is all about.  Keeping strong, knowing that your faith will be tried, but it will produce patience, be quick to hear (keep your ears pricked at all times), but slow to speak (think before you speak) and slow to wrath (vengeance is mine saith the Lord)
receive with meekness, the engrafted word (receive it humbly, take no offence when hearing),
be doer's of the word, not hearers only.
If anyone seems religious (holy) and can't control his own tongue, then this man's religion (belief) is in vain.  It is of no benefit to anyone, especially himself.
So we have to watch everything, our conduct… this is called practising our faith, and these words are to encourage everybody, but the 12 tribes will take note of these scriptures to be prepared at all times, because they are going to get into all types of situations and conversations, and need to be on guard with these guidelines given.

James 1:4   But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.

So now you are moving on to a different topic from the main one, and what I said is that the 144,000 are not sent out into the world to preach Christ, others have done that over the years.  The name of Christ has been spread throughout the whole earth “as a witness”, (everybody has heard of Christ now), so up to them to get a bible and start reading, and God will lead them,.. but God is using these 144K for the brethren already in Christ to sharpen them, encourage them.  They will not be popular, but will be hated, because Christ warned us already.  The world love their own.

Luke 21:17   And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake.

John 15:18   If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you.

What do you find so contradicting?

Matthew 24:14   And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.

Revelation 14:6   And I saw another angel fly in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach unto them that dwell on the earth, and to every nation, and kindred, and tongue, and people,
Revelation 14:7   Saying with a loud voice, Fear God, and give glory to him; for the hour of his judgment is come: and worship him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters.
Revelation 14:8   And there followed another angel, saying, Babylon is fallen, is fallen, that great city, because she made all nations drink of the wine of the wrath of her fornication.

When the 7 angels with the trumpets start, the punishment on  Babylon is final.  All who are living and have not come into the ark, will have to survive the flood now, and that is everyman who has the mark of the beast.  Who did not know what it is all about, and did not want to hear the warning to come to Christ, so he could be given a chance to learn and to exercise his faith.  Judgement starts when the first angel blows.

That angel with the everlasting gospel is giving the last warning. He is not preaching himself, for God sent out men to do this over the years until now to “declare the gospel of Christ”. God is just showing us that there's a final warning, so this warning is to our generation now, for we know it's real close.

    Hi ,
Reading the bible is not the way of salvation.
    It is a new gospel
    Gal 1

    SEEK YE FIRST THE KINGDOM

    There is only one gospel

Faith alone does not save-even the demons believe

These scriptures I gave are not from any new gospel?
They are all contained in the gospel of the holy bible.  You can check them out yourself.

We are discussing scriptures here on this forum, scriptures of the holy bible, and WORDS make up verses, and these verses given to us are called scriptures.
So we are analysing the words in the scriptures.  Combing these words carefully, seeing if we have missed any small details. These words are life, so it is the way to salvation if we follow these guidelines, which are the commandments (flesh of Christ) and we must exercise them.

James 1:25   But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.

seek ye first the kingdom of God
If you had listened you would be telling others too.

What do you think we are doing?  playing starwars?
seeking the kingdom is seeking the scriptures.
For everything about the kingdom is in these scriptures.
    How else would we know?
If we are not abiding by these scriptures then we are not in the kingdom.  Do you understand?

    for example;
1 John 2:9   He that saith he is in the light, and hateth his brother, is in darkness even until now.

Jpurney and Nick……….We are told to rightly divide the word of God, but how could we if we did not hear it or read it or both, We would not even know the Gospel even existed if someone was not sent to preach it some way, either by word or mouth. But i  do believe hearing only does not but you in the Kingdom of God it take understanding given by the spirit of God , because Jesus Plainly said we can't even go to him unless the Father Draw us to him. So human effort along can never inter us into the Kingdom of God.

for the Kingdom of God comes not with “observation” (human words, or speeches, or Just preaching of scriptures) “IT IS “WITHIN” YOU we are told,  and again, Jesus said  the Revealed Knowledge into our minds from God, was the “ROCK” he would build the church on. Unless the Spirit of God is actively at work “IN” us , no amount of preaching or knowledge of the word  will get us into the Kingdom of God. The kingdom of God is spiritually perceived and Spiritually sustained. we must be Kept by God the Father forever. IMO

I think you both know this already.

peace and love to you both……………………………..gene
