Quote (kerwin @ Nov. 08 2013,00:16) Man is the glory of God so Jesus being a male human would in the same way be the glory of God.
So then Jesus was saying, “Even though I've existed every second of my life with the glory of God, I'm for no reason at all going to make a point of telling you all that when I come back, it will be with that same exact glory of God with which I've lived every second of my life” ?Get real, Kerwin. When Moses asked to see God's glory, do you think Moses was asking to see any old man, who is “God's glory”?
You are being obstinate on purpose, and wasting my time in the process.

This is the only one that speaks of God showing his glory to Moses.
Deuteronomy 5:24
Authorized (King James) Version (AKJV)24 and ye said, Behold, the Lord our God hath shewed us his glory and his greatness, and we have heard his voice out of the midst of the fire: we have seen this day that God doth talk with man, and he liveth.
There are some that speak of the glory of the Lord.
Exodus 16:7
Authorized (King James) Version (AKJV)7 and in the morning, then ye shall see the glory of the Lord; for that he heareth your murmurings against the Lord: and what are we, that ye murmur against us?
Exodus 16:10
Authorized (King James) Version (AKJV)10 And it came to pass, as Aaron spake unto the whole congregation of the children of Israel, that they looked toward the wilderness, and, behold, the glory of the Lord appeared in the cloud.
Exodus 24:17
Authorized (King James) Version (AKJV)17 And the sight of the glory of the Lord was like devouring fire on the top of the mount in the eyes of the children of Israel.
Exodus 24:16
Authorized (King James) Version (AKJV)16 And the glory of the Lord abode upon mount Sinai, and the cloud covered it six days: and the seventh day he called unto Moses out of the midst of the cloud.
Exodus 40:34
Authorized (King James) Version (AKJV)34 Then a cloud covered the tent of the congregation, and the glory of the Lord filled the tabernacle.
Leviticus 9:6
Authorized (King James) Version (AKJV)6 And Moses said, This is the thing which the Lord commanded that ye should do: and the glory of the Lord shall appear unto you.
Leviticus 9:23
Authorized (King James) Version (AKJV)23 And Moses and Aaron went into the tabernacle of the congregation, and came out, and blessed the people: and the glory of the Lord appeared unto all the people.
Numbers 14:21
Authorized (King James) Version (AKJV)21 but as truly as I live, all the earth shall be filled with the glory of the Lord.
I think you are speaking of when God passed in from of Moses and Moses saw his backside.
November 11, 2013 at 12:37 am#361672kerwinParticipantMike,
Here it is.
Exodus 33:12-23
Authorized (King James) Version (AKJV)12 And Moses said unto the Lord, See, thou sayest unto me, Bring up this people: and thou hast not let me know whom thou wilt send with me. Yet thou hast said, I know thee by name, and thou hast also found grace in my sight. 13 Now therefore, I pray thee, if I have found grace in thy sight, shew me now thy way, that I may know thee, that I may find grace in thy sight: and consider that this nation is thy people. 14 And he said, My presence shall go with thee, and I will give thee rest. 15 And he said unto him, If thy presence go not with me, carry us not up hence. 16 For wherein shall it be known here that I and thy people have found grace in thy sight? is it not in that thou goest with us? so shall we be separated, I and thy people, from all the people that are upon the face of the earth. 17 And the Lord said unto Moses, I will do this thing also that thou hast spoken: for thou hast found grace in my sight, and I know thee by name. 18 And he said, I beseech thee, shew me thy glory. 19 And he said, I will make all my goodness pass before thee, and I will proclaim the name of the Lord before thee; and will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, and will shew mercy on whom I will shew mercy. 20 And he said, Thou canst not see my face: for there shall no man see me, and live. 21 And the Lord said, Behold, there is a place by me, and thou shalt stand upon a rock: 22 and it shall come to pass, while my glory passeth by, that I will put thee in a clift of the rock, and will cover thee with my hand while I pass by: 23 and I will take away mine hand, and thou shalt see my back parts: but my face shall not be seen.
It seems that God also calls his glory, his goodness.
November 11, 2013 at 12:42 am#361673kerwinParticipantMike,
Here is another passage that may be relevant.
Exodus 34:29-35
Authorized (King James) Version (AKJV)29 And it came to pass, when Moses came down from mount Sinai with the two tables of testimony in Moses’ hand, when he came down from the mount, that Moses wist not that the skin of his face shone while he talked with him. 30 And when Aaron and all the children of Israel saw Moses, behold, the skin of his face shone; and they were afraid to come nigh him. 31 And Moses called unto them; and Aaron and all the rulers of the congregation returned unto him: and Moses talked with them. 32 And afterward all the children of Israel came nigh: and he gave them in commandment all that the Lord had spoken with him in mount Sinai. 33 And till Moses had done speaking with them, he put a vail on his face. 34 But when Moses went in before the Lord to speak with him, he took the vail off, until he came out. And he came out, and spake unto the children of Israel that which he was commanded. 35 And the children of Israel saw the face of Moses, that the skin of Moses’ face shone: and Moses put the vail upon his face again, until he went in to speak with him.
November 12, 2013 at 12:43 am#361761mikeboll64BlockedYes. That last one is the one I was talking about. But tell me, were ANY of the scriptural examples you listed referring to the regular old glory of any human being?
Or did “glory” refer to something much greater in those cases?
November 13, 2013 at 12:49 am#361811kerwinParticipantMike,
Most of them seem to speak of pyrotechnics. God's miracles, God's representative, or God's goodness.
Note: the cloud or fiery pillars are what I am referring to as representatives.
November 13, 2013 at 1:47 am#361828mikeboll64BlockedThen perhaps, since Jesus is obviously coming back with a GREATER glory than his everyday glory as a man, he is also talking about “pyrotechnics”, and other awesome signs and wonders.
It is the only logical conclusion, Kerwin. Which means he will NOT be coming back with the regular old glory of any regular old human being.
But you believe what you want, okay? I've determined a long time ago that you're not really here after truth. You are here to see how much twisting and denying it will take to make your own preconceived “truth” fit into the scriptural words.
You most often fail in your attempts, and cause people like me to roll our eyes and laugh at your silly attempts.

K2. a brilliant and dazzling display, as of eloquence, wit, virtuosity, etc
is this the way you see it when you use the word ;pyrotechnics

Mike,Yes, I have said there will be some pyrotechnics as there is a class of symbols and some other things.
There will be more than that as the city of new Jerusalem will descend with him.
Jesus is and will be the glory of God, just as Adam was before the Fall but that glory is not what Scripture speaks of when the Son of Man comes in the cloud.

T,I did not know of that definition. I was going as a brilliant display of special effects of which one is almost always light.

kI TELL A SECRET ;GOD GLORY IS HIS REAL POWER ,WHAT CAN NOT BE SEEN BY MEN OR HE WILL DIE,MOSES SAW A REDUCED POWER OF GOD ,SO HE COULD SEE AND NOT DIE FROM IT ,
THE CURIOSITY OF MOSES WAS EQUAL TO HIS HUMBLENESS ,KNOWING THE GREATNESS OF HIS GOD ,AND SO DID CHRIST ,IF YOU CAN UNDERSTAND WHAT I AM SAYING
November 13, 2013 at 11:02 pm#361893kerwinParticipantT,
The AKJV states God's goodness passed before Mosses. It also states that God's glory passes before him in another statement.
