December 25, 2018 at 6:01 am#839601JodiParticipantGood Morning All.
John 3:14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his GLORY, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) FULL of grace and truth….. 16 And of his fulness have all we received, and grace for grace. 17 For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ.
John 2:11 This beginning of miracles did Jesus in Cana of Galilee, and manifested forth his glory; and his disciples believed on him…..23 Now when he was in Jerusalem at the passover, in the feast day, many believed in his name, when they saw the miracles which he did.
John 3:2 The same came to Jesus by night, and said unto him, Rabbi, we know that thou art a teacher come from God: for no man can do these miracles that thou doest, except God be with him.
Acts 2:22 Ye men of Israel, hear these words; Jesus of Nazareth, a man approved of God among you by miracles and wonders and signs, which God did by him in the midst of you, as ye yourselves also know:
37 This is that Moses, which said unto the children of Israel, A prophet shall the Lord your God raise up unto you OF YOUR brethren, like unto me; him shall ye hear.
Isaiah 55:4 Behold, I have given him for a witness to the people, a leader and commander to the people. 5 Behold, thou shalt call a nation that thou knowest not, and nations that knew not thee shall run unto thee because of the LORD thy God, and for the Holy One of Israel; ….11 So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.
When the Spirit of God descended upon Jesus like a dove, it was then that Jesus was filled with the Spirit of God able to perform signs and miracles, heal the sick, turn water into wine, control the wind, multiply food, walk on water, raise the dead, speak God’s word. The people beheld his glory the glory as of the only man begotten of the father FULL of grace and truth. Multitudes believed in him, believing that God was in him, because of the signs and wonders that he performed and the truth that he had spoken. At the river Jordan Jesus had been begotten by God, given the fullness of God’s Spirit and power and then he was SENT.
God had promised David that his son God would become a father to, that God would take David’s son and make this son into His firstborn Son. God had promised that He would anoint a servant from among the people CALLING him into righteousness, God would take a man and beget him with His Spirit, and with that anointing people declared him to be the Son of God.
Luke 1:32 He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David:
Luke 4:3 And the devil said unto him, If thou be the Son of God, command this stone that it be made bread.
Folks Jesus had just been begotten of the Spirit given powers, God was at that time a Father to Jesus leading him with His Spirit, causing him to follow not the will of man but the will of God. The adversary calls Jesus the Son of God not according to his birth, but according to the POWERS he received at the river Jordan, when the Spirit descended upon him, where he was then given the capability to make stones turn into bread.
Matthew 16:16 And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.
John 1:49 Nathanael answered and saith unto him, Rabbi, thou art the Son of God; thou art the King of Israel.
John 11:27 She saith unto him, Yea, Lord: I believe that thou art the Christ, the Son of God, which should come into the world.
Thou art the ANOINTED -Chrio/Christos, the Son of God
Luke 4:18 The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,
John 11:28 And when she had so said, she went her way, and called Mary her sister secretly, saying, The Master is come, and calleth for thee. 29 As soon as she heard that, she arose quickly, and came unto him. 30 Now Jesus was not yet come into the town, but was in that place where Martha met him. 31 The Jews then which were with her in the house, and comforted her, when they saw Mary, that she rose up hastily and went out, followed her, saying, She goeth unto the grave to weep there. 32 Then when Mary was come where Jesus was, and saw him, she fell down at his feet, saying unto him, Lord, if thou hadst been here, my brother had not died. 33 When Jesus therefore saw her weeping, and the Jews also weeping which came with her, he groaned in the spirit, and was troubled, 34 And said, Where have ye laid him? They said unto him, Lord, come and see. 35 Jesus wept. 36 Then said the Jews, Behold how he loved him! 37 And some of them said, Could not this man, which opened the eyes of the blind, have caused that even this man should not have died? 38 Jesus therefore again groaning in himself cometh to the grave. It was a cave, and a stone lay upon it. 39 Jesus said, Take ye away the stone. Martha, the sister of him that was dead, saith unto him, Lord, by this time he stinketh: for he hath been dead four days. 40 Jesus saith unto her, Said I not unto thee, that, if thou wouldest believe, thou shouldest see the glory of God? 41 Then they took away the stone from the place where the dead was laid. And Jesus lifted up his eyes, and said, Father, I thank thee that thou hast heard me. 42 And I knew that thou hearest me always: but because of the people which stand by I said it, that they may believe that thou hast sent me. 43 And when he thus had spoken, he cried with a loud voice,Lazarus, come forth. 44 And he that was dead came forth, bound hand and foot with grave clothes: and his face was bound about with a napkin. Jesus saith unto them, Loose him, and let him go. 45 Then many of the Jews which came to Mary, and had seen the things which Jesus did, believed on him.
They BELIEVED Jesus was the CHRIST-the anointed, because of his POWERS, by being the Anointed One he is called the Son of God, the ONLY begotten of God FULL of grace and truth.
After he was baptized washed clean, the Spirit of God was begotten in Jesus, where God would lead him, be a Father to him.
Luke 4:14 And Jesus returned in the power of the Spirit into Galilee: and there went out a fame of him through all the region round about.
People CALLED Jesus the Christ and the Son of God according to the signs and miracles that he performed through the power of the Spirit that he had received at his baptism.
Matthew 21:9 And the multitudes that went before, and that followed, cried, saying, Hosanna to the Son of David: Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord; Hosanna in the highest….15 And when the chief priests and scribes saw the wonderful things that he did, and the children crying in the temple, and saying, Hosanna to the Son of David; they were sore displeased
Matthew 22:42 Saying,What think ye of Christ? whose son is he? They say unto him, The Son of David. 43 He saith unto them,How then doth David in spirit call him Lord, saying, 44 The LORD said unto my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand, till I make thine enemies thy footstool? 45 If David then call him Lord, how is he his son?
The answer is that Jesus is the son of David, but he is the firstborn over all creation, being the firstborn of the dead having eternal life, fulfilling God’s plan and promise God had made before the foundation of the world. He is the son of David but he is master, he is before David, in that he is firstborn into eternal life over all of creation.
Romans 1:1 Paul, a servant of Jesus Christ, called to be an apostle, separated unto the gospel of God, 2 (Which he had promised afore by his prophets in the holy scriptures,) 3 Concerning his Son Jesus Christ our Lord, which was made of the seed of David according to the flesh; 4 And declared to be the Son of God with power, according to the spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead:
God’s Son is Jesus the seed of David ANOINTED with the Spirit. God’s Son is not a pre-existing Son being morphed into a human. Clear as day, HIS SON is Jesus the ANOINTED, Jesus became the Son of God according to the Spirit of Holiness which he received at the river. This son of David had been begotten by God’s Spirit and then was sent out into the world with power, people beheld his glory.
This Son of God was perfected by learning obedience through suffering, God gave him over to death to save the world.
God did not send a pre-existing son from heaven to die for our sins. God anointed David’s son with the fullness of His Spirit and became a Father to him, God, “called thee in righteousness, and will hold thine hand, and will keep thee, and give thee for a covenant of the people, for a light of the Gentiles”.
The Son of man in order to save us from our sins had to FIRST learn obedience and be perfected in order to be the Lamb of God.
John CALLS Jesus before he is even baptized the Lamb of God, he was not yet perfected. John declared he was the Lamb of God knowing that Jesus was to fulfill God’s prophecy spoken by Isaiah. Same as the angel and Simeon declaring the infant a savior.
December 25, 2018 at 6:31 am#839602JodiParticipantThank you Gene!
When people take the name Jesus the Christ and say it is speaking not of the human anointed with God’s Spirit at the river, but speak of him as a pre-existing son, they are not going to read the passage according to truth.
This is exactly what t8 has done with Philippians 2.
5 Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:
The passage is talking about the mind of a man who had received the Spirit of God in full measure and power, the anointed Jesus.
The passage is not referencing a pre-existing son, but the child born of Mary born of the seed of David, NAMED Jesus. That is the WHO in the verse below, the child that grew in grace and wisdom and then had the Spirit descend upon him, being given the Spirit and power of God in full measure. The WHO is the man that had been GIVEN the power to raise the dead.
6 Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: 7 But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: 8 And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. 9 Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: 10 That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; 11 And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
The CHRIST, the anointed MAN made himself of no reputation when he had been begotten of the Spirit full of grace and truth having all the powers of the Spirit. HE humbled himself, HE became obedient unto death. We confess Jesus the anointed is Lord, is master, because of the glory the Father gave him, the people beheld that glory, it came to Jesus at the river and people were witnesses to it thereafter.
Acts 2:36 Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath made that same Jesus, whom ye have crucified, both Lord and Christ.
Jesus is the Son of Man, the seed of David. He WAS MADE Lord and Christ through God’s Spirit, not because he pre-existed and humbled himself becoming a human being.
How the word of God is destroyed when people change WHO Christ is.
t8 wants to say that Christ is a pre-existing son who humbled himself by becoming flesh.
He can’t even DEFINE the very word CHRIST according to what it means, ANOINTED by God.
The truth is that the anointed Jesus, a human being given the great powers of the Spirit, HE HUMBLED himself.
December 25, 2018 at 6:49 am#839603NickHassanParticipantHi Gene,
Heb 5.7
In the days of his flesh, when he offered up both prayers and supplications with loud crying
and tears to Him Who was able to save him from death, and who was heard because of his piety.
These are not the days of his flesh.
December 25, 2018 at 8:27 am#839604GeneBalthropParticipantNick……Is that all you have to offer for somekind of proof? JESUS SAID HE WAS NOT A SPIRIT, but flesh and bone, after his resurection, and until you can show me where that has changed, you have no ground to stand on, Jesus Said the son of man , would come to reign on this earth, even in revelations he said he was of or from the root and offspring of King David, thats a physical person, no scripture say he is now not the a son of man, Jesus did not change in to something else after his resurection, he was a human being then and is still a human being, how be it with the fullness of the spirit of God in him. He is still viewed as a slain Lamb Of GOD , who has the seven spirits of God, with the seven horns powers of God on his flesh body even now.
You offer another view but fail to describe it clearly Nick. Because there is no scripture that changes Jesus from a Son of man into a spirit being as you persume.
Jodi said it just as it is soundly written, defining Jesus clearly and accurately. If you love the truth then you should open your ears and heart to what she is saying, I completely agree with her on this brother.
Peace and love to you and yours. ……gene

So explain Hebrews5.7, then we can move on.
Now the Lord is the Spirit.
December 25, 2018 at 11:56 am#839608NickHassanParticipantHi Gene,
So if you did not see Jesus Christ enveloped by a new imperishable heavenly body
it did not happen?
December 25, 2018 at 1:15 pm#839618GeneBalthropParticipantNick….Heb 5: 7….says nothing about Jesus being changing into a spirit or anything else, you are forcing the text to say what it does not say Nick. The word flesh there means, human natured “body”, before his reserection to a spritual natured “body.” That live forever. Verse 10, CALLED of God an high priest after the order of MELCHISEDEC, (A HUMAN FLESH MAN).
We “only” Know What Jesus did in the past when he was in his flesh and blood natured body, we don’t know what happened after he was raised into the heavens we have no wittness of any activity after he rose from earth before the apostles in his resurected physical body of flesh and bone. There is no change of that resurected body written in scriptures after his resurection.
We know longer know him in the flesh, why because he is not here, yet. He has not returned to set up his kingdom on this earth yet. We are waiting for that to come Nick.
Peace and love to you and yours. …….gene
December 25, 2018 at 2:04 pm#839619NickHassanParticipantHi Gene,
It says IN THE DAYS OF HIS FLESH, not DURING THE TIME HE WAS ON EARTH.
Ths was before his death on the cross which he was praying to God about?
December 25, 2018 at 2:47 pm#839620NickHassanParticipantHi Gene,
So NOW is not included in THE DAYS OF HIS FLESH.
December 26, 2018 at 10:54 pm#842115Ed JParticipantEDJ…..Your have taken the broad way that lead to destruction, that many go in threat there of, but you need to seek the narrow gate, the straight way that leads to life.

December 26, 2018 at 10:59 pm#842116Ed JParticipantHi All
And it had been revealed to him by the Holy Spirit that he should not see death before he had seen the Lord’s Messiah. And inspired by the Spirit he came into the temple and when the parents brought in the child Jesus, to do for him according to the custom of the law, he took him up in his arms and blessed God and said, “Lord, now let your servant depart in peace, according to your word for mine eyes have seen Your salvation. (Luke 2:26-30).
Show any scripture that references Jesus as the Messiah before his anointing at the Jordan river.

December 27, 2018 at 4:51 am#842120GeneBalthropParticipantNick…..Heb 5:7, the word flesh there means when Jesus was in the flesh of all humans before he died on the cross , that flesh was subject to death, but after his resurection his flesh and bones were no longer subject to death any longer brother.
With you mind set, about the flesh beings, it is easy for you to get the wrong understanding from that scripture, but if you do a word search on the word used for flesh there, you can see with it is really speaking about, it was referencing his flesh that could die, not after his resurection at all Nick.
Peace and love to you and yours ………gene
December 27, 2018 at 7:19 am#842121NickHassanParticipantHi Gene,
So to bolster your weak case you ADDED the words OF ALL HUMANS to scripture?
It is not a good idea to ADD TO scripture.
December 27, 2018 at 8:40 am#842122JodiParticipantHi Nick,
Hebrews 2:15 And deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.
Hebrews 5:7 Who in the days of his flesh, WHEN he had offered up prayers and supplications with strong crying and tears unto him that was able to save him from death, and was heard in that he feared;
When Jesus was RAISED from the dead he NO LONGER feared death, he no longer felt in bondage, he would not cry ever again finding himself asking God, “take away this cup from me”.
When Jesus was RAISED from the dead he was no longer living as before he died, in the days of his flesh WHEN HE was a MORTAL man he cried in fear. In those days of his flesh he feared, in these days of his flesh he has no fear because he WAS RAISED incorruptible.
Luke 24:39 Behold my hands and my feet, that it is I myself: handle me, and see; for a spirit hath not flesh and bones, as ye see me have.
1 Corinthians 15:20 But now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the firstfruits of them that slept.
Romans 6:5 For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness OF HIS RESURRECTION.
We are not RAISED from the dead into the likeness of some change that happened with Jesus AFTER he was raised from the dead Nick, but in likeness of HIS RESURRECTION.
Acts 2:31 He seeing this before spake of the resurrection of Christ, that his soul was not left in hell, neither his flesh did see corruption.
32 This Jesus hath God raised up, whereof we all are witnesses.
35 But some man will say, How are the dead raised up? and with what body do they come?…
42 So also is the resurrection of the dead. It is sown in corruption; it is RAISED incorruption:
Hebrews 5:7 is not saying anything about Jesus no longer being flesh Nick, the verse is specifically talking about WHEN he was in flesh that feared death and cried.
Here is a true statement,
When after his resurrection when in his incorruptible flesh and bones body he said, “O fools, and slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoken: Ought not Christ to have suffered these things, and to enter into his glory?” 27 And beginning at Moses and all the prophets, he expounded unto them in all the scriptures the things concerning himself.
1 Corinthians 15:43 It is sown in dishonour; it is raised in glory: it is sown in weakness; it is raised in power: 44 It is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body. There is a natural body, and there is a spiritual body.
The spiritual body does not fear death, there is no bondage but freedom to serve God.
Nick, Jesus was RAISED incorruptible, in GLORY, in POWER, having now a flesh and bones SPIRITUAL BODY.
1 Peter 1:21 Who by him do believe in God, that raised him up from the dead, and gave him glory; that your faith and hope might be in God.
36 For David, after he had served his own generation by the will of God, fell on sleep, and was laid unto his fathers, and saw corruption: 37 But he, whom God raised again, saw no corruption. 38 Be it known unto you therefore, men and brethren, that THROUGH THIS MAN is preached unto you the forgiveness of sins: 39 And by him all that believe are justified from all things, from which ye could not be justified by the law of Moses.
Nick, THROUGH the MAN who God RAISED WHO saw no corruption, is preached the forgiveness of sins, and we will be RAISED from the dead given the body that he was raised from the dead with, a body of glory, a body of power, a spiritual body.
2 John 1:7 For many deceivers are entered into the world, who confess not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist.
Was not Jesus risen from the dead and came to many to be a witness that God gives eternal life to the dead? Did he NOT COME in the FLESH when he appeared to many? Do we not preach through Christ is the resurrection of the dead, and we shall be like he is?
The CHRIST that we preach was RISEN from the DEAD and he came after he was risen IN THE FLESH.
ROMANS 10:9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
1 Thess 4:14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.
Nick, how did Jesus COME when he was raised from the dead? He CAME IN the FLESH. He came in his glory, having been raised with his spiritual body.
December 27, 2018 at 9:03 am#842123JodiParticipantHi Ed J and ALL,
John the baptist before Jesus was baptized called Jesus the Lamb of God.
In order for Jesus to be the Lamb of God he had to be MADE perfect first, once he was made perfect then he could be the sacrifice, the lamb.
John CALLED Jesus the Lamb of God, even though he was NOT yet the Lamb of God, he was not yet made perfect. Just the same as the angel and Simeon called Jesus the Christ, even though he was not yet MADE the ANOINTED one.
December 27, 2018 at 9:34 am#842124JodiParticipantTo Ed j and ALL,
Read Isaiah 42, the servant God would anoint, He would call him to righteousness. Jesus said to John that he needed to be baptized in order to fulfill all righteousness. God said in Isaiah 42 that upon the anointing He would hold his hand and keep him for a covenant for the people.
“Romans 11:26 and in this way all Israel will be saved. As it is written: “The deliverer will come from Zion; he will turn godlessness away from Jacob. 27 And this is my covenant with them when I take away their sins.”
Jesus had to be baptized and become the ANOINTED (Chrisitos) and with that anointing God called him into righteousness, He held his hand keeping him for a covenant, MAKING him into a perfect lamb which occurred through suffering.
10 In bringing many sons and daughters to glory, it was fitting that God, for whom and through whom everything exists, should MAKE the pioneer of their salvation perfect through what he suffered.
9 and, once made perfect, he BECAME the source of eternal salvation for all who obey him
18 For you know that it was not with perishable things such as silver or gold that you were redeemed from the empty way of life handed down to you from your ancestors, 19 but with the precious blood of Christ, a lamb without blemish or defect.
Just as Jesus was called the Lamb of God before he was MADE into the Lamb of God, likewise Jesus was called the Christ and Lord, before he was MADE the ANOINTED (Christos) and made a master.
John, Simeon, and the angel all referred to Jesus according to the prophecies he was going to fulfill.
The baby Jesus was the person of prophecy who would be the anointed servant called into righteousness. With that anointing he BECAME the only begotten of the Father full of grace and truth and the people witnessed his works which he was able to perform because the Spirit had descended upon him like a dove in full measure with POWER, he was THEN SENT out to heal the sick, raise the dead, speak God’s word with authority.
Jesus was NOT ABLE to do these things according to his BIRTH, but according to his anointing (Christos) at the river. As Gene said, there is no passage that exists where we see Jesus performing the works of a Messiah until after the river.
Luke 4:1 Jesus, full of the Holy Spirit, left the Jordan and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness, ..14 Jesus returned to Galilee in the power of the Spirit, and news about him spread through the whole countryside. 15 He was teaching in their synagogues, and everyone praised him…18 “The Spirit of the Lord is on me, BECAUSE he has anointed me.
Jesus declares WHEN he became the Messiah, WHEN he was SENT.
Prior to the ANOINTING (Christos) at the river Jesus was not full of the Spirit.
34 For he whom God hath sent speaketh the words of God: for God giveth not the Spirit by measure unto him.
18 The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, 19 To preach the acceptable year of the Lord.
There is no pre-existing Son that was SENT, the bread of life that came from heaven Jesus said was his FLESH, it was his anointed flesh, he was a servant who God anointed and then he was sent out into the world to preach the gospel.
That anointed flesh God would perfect through suffering holding his hand all the way with the power of His Spirit and make him into a perfect lamb.
December 27, 2018 at 11:26 am#842127ProclaimerParticipantJohn CALLED Jesus the Lamb of God, even though he was NOT yet the Lamb of God, he was not yet made perfect. Just the same as the angel and Simeon called Jesus the Christ, even though he was not yet MADE the ANOINTED one.
Jesus was not said to become Christ or will be called Christ, but that he IS THE CHRIST. Scripture teaches us differently to you, that’s a fact. You have to concede this fact if you are to be taken seriously.
Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord.
And:
And it was revealed unto him by the Holy Ghost, that he should not see death, before he had seen the Lord’s Christ.
What did he see? A man after his baptism or an infant child? You would have to argue that he didn’t see the Christ because you say he was not the Christ when he was in the City of David. This is troublesome for you, not us. It’s not really a debate, just a matter of showing Scripture and believing it or not.
