So you can't baptise yourself?
July 3, 2007 at 8:57 pm#57831NickHassanParticipantHi ACC,
Is it ever written that way?
The eunuch found water on the side of the road but was helped by a servant of God.
It is a joyful service for God's servants.July 3, 2007 at 8:58 pm#57832acertainchapParticipantI've been baptised after I was born. I have sense become a Christian.
July 3, 2007 at 9:00 pm#57835NickHassanParticipantHi ACC,
Make sure it was by your consent after you had repented.
Make sure the evidence is written in heaven[1Jn5-not KJV- with additions]July 3, 2007 at 9:01 pm#57836acertainchapParticipantJuly 3, 2007 at 9:10 pm#57838NickHassanParticipantHi Acc,

July 3, 2007 at 9:35 pm#57843NickHassanParticipantHi ACC,
Is your name yet written in the book of life?July 4, 2007 at 5:05 am#57962chosenoneParticipantIs this book available for us to see?
July 4, 2007 at 7:13 pm#58023NickHassanParticipantHi CO,
You will need to enter through the gate of the kingdom if you wish to see.July 5, 2007 at 6:15 am#58082chosenoneParticipantI have, still no “book of life”. Have you seen your name there?
July 5, 2007 at 7:39 am#58096NickHassanParticipantHi CO,
Since the book is in heaven it is not surprising that no one here has seen it.Luke 10:20
Notwithstanding in this rejoice not, that the spirits are subject unto you; but rather rejoice, because your names are written in heaven.Philippians 4:3
And I intreat thee also, true yokefellow, help those women which laboured with me in the gospel, with Clement also, and with other my fellowlabourers, whose names are in the book of life.
Revelation 22:19
And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.July 5, 2007 at 10:44 am#58098TimothyVIParticipantThere is no literal book.
Jesus is the book of life.Tim
July 5, 2007 at 11:53 am#58100acertainchapParticipantThere is a literal Book of Life and the angels write our name in it when we turn from our sins and realize that Jesus died for us.

Hi Chap,What is the book of life? JESUS CHRIST IS THE WALKING, TALKING, LIVING BOOK OF LIFE. The Father has given His son LIFE, and Jesus can not give that same LIFE to anyone He desires. People don't have their names written on a page in a literal book, and then later have an angel come with a bottle of white-out and remove it. Those who are not walking, talking, and living the life of Christ in them are CONTINUALLY BEING BLOTTED OUT OF LIVING BOOK OF CHRIST. Life is not in a book, but in CHRIST WHO IS THE LIVING BOOK.

Hi Chap,“And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him [Satan, the dragon, the devil, the serpent], whose names are not written in THE BOOK OF THE [‘the’ is in the Greek manuscripts] LIFE OF THE LAMB [THAT IS CHRIST] slain from the foundation of the world” (Rev. 13:8)!
Oh how much we lose when translators both translate and interpret wrongly. It was wrong of them to leave out the article “the” in this verse, as it is IN the Greek manuscripts. It is not merely “the book of life … of the Lamb,” but rather, “the book of … the life of the Lamb!” What a difference a simple three letter article makes in the meaning of this most profound verse! This book is not merely a list of the names of the saints in alphabetical order. The “book of life” is the book of SOMEONE’S life—Jesus Christ’s LIFE!So being written in the book of life is really the new, converted, believer’s life “IN Christ.” And when God comes to judge the world, we will have no fear of judgment for we are being judged now “IN Christ.”
Hope this helps you understand my reasoning.
You are free to continue to believe that it is a literal book if you wish. I guess there would be no real harm done. But consider that almost nothing in Rev. was literal.Tim

In essence the people who do not worship Satan or receive his mark will be saved, correct?July 5, 2007 at 2:59 pm#58114TimothyVIParticipantQuote (acertainchap @ July 06 2007,01:31) Quote (TimothyVI @ July 06 2007,01:15) Quote (acertainchap @ July 06 2007,00:49) Idk. Please defend your reasoning.

Hi Chap, the inference is that what you say is true, although scripture says the converse. It says that all of those not written in the book of the life, worship satan. However that was not the point that I was trying to make.
What I wanted for you to see was that the book of life is in fact the book of the life of Jesus. The book of life is Jesus.Tim
July 5, 2007 at 5:26 pm#58128LaurelParticipantHi everyone,
I'd like to start a new thred on obedience. It's a topic that deserves it's own space. There's too much involved and would be a good starting point for new believers who come to this website. Look for it. I'll call it “obedience through faith, children of the promise.” There I will tie the two covenants together and show you that even before Messiah was born, they too had to believe on Him to be saved. - AuthorPosts
