I would like to dedicate this thread to those who are seeking, have questions, or whatever:)
June 8, 2016 at 10:44 pm#814661MiiaParticipantFirst question.
What do you believe we are here for?
June 9, 2016 at 12:53 am#814663Ed JParticipantFirst question.
What do you believe we are here for?
Hi Miia,
“be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you
a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear” (1 Peter 3:15)So for me, it’s my ability to provide others with the proof that God exists so that
they can in turn answer this all important question to the Agnostic and Skeptic alike. As you probably already know personally testimony means absolutely nothing to the skeptic,
therefore I’ve documented Proof that God exists so that anyone can answer 1 Peter 3:15.____________

June 9, 2016 at 1:49 pm#814681MiiaParticipantWhat do you believe we are here for?
Hi Ed, I think you might have misunderstood my first question.
I didn’t mean on this forum. I meant “HERE” as in this life.
June 9, 2016 at 2:36 pm#814682Ed JParticipantHi Miia,
For me the answer is the same. However if you mean collectively:
you, everyone else, which would include me and possibly even
exclude Jesus (depending on what you mean by the question)I will answer it this way: To make an open showing in this life before the angels and God,
to show as to whether we follow what God says or what satan says by how we live our life.I hope this answers the intent of your question.

Ed JJune 9, 2016 at 8:51 pm#814687kerwinParticipantMiia,
I do not think I know because it is spelled out in Scripture. It is the whole reason that the book of Ecclesiastes was written. The writers answer to your question is:
Ecclesiastes 12:13Authorized (King James) Version (AKJV)
13 Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.
June 10, 2016 at 11:51 pm#814701MiiaParticipantI think it would include those two answers, but I think we’re also here to learn, to grow in strength, to change, and to help others.
June 11, 2016 at 12:02 am#814705MiiaParticipantAre you both lost, or seeking 🙂

June 11, 2016 at 2:43 am#814710kerwinParticipantMiia,
Those words from Ecclesiastes would cover love as love is the sum of the Law but God’s definition of Love is not the same definition this world uses.
June 11, 2016 at 3:54 pm#814713MiiaParticipantGuess
Guess.
‘You’ would say ‘no’.

I agree Kerwin!
How do you believe God’s definition of love is different to the worlds definition?
June 11, 2016 at 4:18 pm#814715kerwinParticipantmiia,
To start with godly love hates evil and it never fails.
June 11, 2016 at 5:05 pm#814717Ed JParticipantHi Miia,
I declare I have found. And you declare you are seeking.
Yet when I show you, you reject it; and you wonder
why your relationship with God is at a lose.“My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge:
because thou hast rejected knowledge” (Hosea 4:6)As the saying goes: “you can lead a horse to water, but you can’t make him drink”

June 11, 2016 at 6:22 pm#814720MiiaParticipantKerwin, yes. Godly love never fails. Worth bearing that in mind.
June 11, 2016 at 7:01 pm#814722kerwinParticipantMiia,
A common situation I see in the world is to define what is evil as good and condemn those that hate it for being evil.
Another ones are that “love” seems to melt away with the first hot rays of the sun or or a spattering of rain.
There are exceptions to that even among those of the world though they indulge in other violations.
June 11, 2016 at 8:00 pm#814723MiiaParticipantYour first paragraph reminds me of this quote, “A time is coming when men will go mad, and when they see someone who is not mad, they will attack him, saying, ‘You are mad – you are not like us.’” (St Anthony).
Your 2nd paragraph:
Love doesn’t always melt away in the sun; some love can grow in the heat and rain, and the pests will become manageable!June 12, 2016 at 2:46 pm#814741Ed JParticipantYou are very annoying Ed. Could you please go and post on another thread?
Hi Miia,
No – if you don’t like what I say, it is you that must run not me – as James 4:7-8 declares:
“Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye
sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded.” (James 4:7-8)This is a public forum and a permanent record, so I would urge caution
on your part, as we must all give an account to God FOR EVERY WORD.“But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak,
they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment. For by thy words
thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned.” (Matt 12:36-37)“The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof,
but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so
is every one that is born of the Spirit.” (John 3:8)
That means I can come and go as I please.____________
God bless
