Keith, the martial law order has been set up and signed by the President of the U.S. himself – for cases of extreme emergency.  The President and his body of lawmakers, who actually run our country, are the ones who have made preparations for the highest ranking General of the military to run the show should the need arise.

So let's put martial law into Biblical terms, and see if you can understand the comparison.

In the event of a certain situation, the President of the United States of America has GIVEN ALL POWER AND AUTHORITY to ONE OF HIS SERVANTS.  That SERVANT will REIGN SUPREME over our country UNTIL THE ENEMIES HAVE BEEN SUBJECTED.  After the SERVANT WHO HAS BEEN GIVEN ALL POWER AND AUTHORITY SUBJECTS THOSE ENEMIES, THAT SERVANT OF THE PRESIDENT WILL THEN SUBJECT HIMSELF TO THE PRESIDENT AGAIN, SO THE PRESIDENT WILL BE ALL IN ALL – as far as leading the nation of the U.S.  In other words, the SERVANT will GIVE THE REIGN OF THE KINGDOM BACK TO THE RIGHTFUL HEAD OF THE KINGDOM AFTER THE MISSION IS ACCOMPLISHED.

Now think this out Keith.  The highest ranking General does not for a time BECOME the BEING OF the President.  He is not even EQUAL TO the President, but is acting on behalf OF the one he serves – the one who GAVE HIM THE POWER in the first place.  And when the situation is resolved and the General subjects himself to the President, it is not to say there was ever a time when the General wasn't still a servant of the President.  What it means is that the General was acting with the full power and authority OF the President, and then relinquished that power and authority back to him after the mission was accomplised.

Can you understand that the General was never the President of the United States himself, and that he was never even equal to him, but instead always remained a servant of him?
