Do not rob God of the glory.
Yes Nick. Let not pride rob God of the glory in us. Time is short. We need to be wise. Every hour is God’s grace to us. We need to love and we need to believe what God says and what is written. We cannot afford to add to God’s own words and change things to suit ourselves.
January 10, 2018 at 10:50 am#820689NickHassanParticipantHi,
Those who focus only on the human vessel have missed the message of God.
God saves.
January 10, 2018 at 12:39 pm#820705ProclaimerParticipantWho is focussing on the human vessel? Is it not you? We believe that Jesus is the Word of God. That he came in the flesh. The flesh is not the important thing here apart from it meaning he became one of us to save us. No it is the fact that he came from Heaven and was born holy and was baptised in the Father’s own Spirit. It is you and Gene who seems fixated with Jesus being this flesh thing. We teach him as the Word who became flesh as the son of God that God made all things through. Only in replying to your theology do we really speak such things because your words beg for this to be addressed.
January 12, 2018 at 7:11 am#820764NickHassanParticipantHi T8,
Prophecy goes over your head.
God sees the future as the present.
Acts 4.27
For truly in this city there were gathered together against your holy servant Jesus, whom You anointed, both Herod and Pontius Pilate, along with the gentiles and the peoples of Israel, to do whatever Your hand and your purpose predestined to occur.
A man made clean by obedience to the law and sanctified by the Spirit.
February 7, 2018 at 8:52 am#821154GeneBalthropParticipantT8….Your problem is your lack of understanding that JESUS HIMSELF, is not the Word that came to be “in” him, that WORD WAS GOD THE FATHER, HE CAME TO BE IN JESUS, WHEN JESUS WAS BAPTIZED, by John the baptist at the Jordan river. God is a spirit, the (christo’s) or anointing spirit, that came to be “in” Jesus and can be in us also. Remember what Jesus said, I am “in” the FATHER AND THE FATHER IS “IN” ME, HE also said we can be “in” him and him “in” us. The holy spirit of GOD IS THE COMMON DENOMINATOR THAT TIES US ALL TOGETHER. “ONE GOD “IN” ALL AND “THROUGH” ALL”.
T8. think about it.
Peace and love to you and yours. ……gene
February 21, 2018 at 10:38 am#821263ProclaimerParticipantHi T8,
Prophecy goes over your head.
God sees the future as the present.
Prophecy goes over my head because I believe that the messiah was born in Bethlehem as the scripture says? It says he is the Lord at the time of his birth too. Amen to the truth. Perhaps what is going over someone’s head is your own understanding of prophecy conflicting with clear scripture.
Luke 2:11
Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord. What doctor Luke declared appears to have gone so far over your head you cannot see it. Might be time to get the telescope out.
February 21, 2018 at 10:42 am#821264ProclaimerParticipantHi T8,
Prophecy goes over your head.
God sees the future as the present.
lols. You have just proved me correct then.
Indeed as I have said, he was the messiah and the Lord at birth.
You corrected yourself. Thank you for that.
Is there anything else you are having trouble with?
February 21, 2018 at 12:27 pm#821265NickHassanParticipantHi,
So preexistence is an idea that grew from the inability of natural men
to grasp the fact that the Spirit spoke through the anointed man Jesus.
February 21, 2018 at 12:33 pm#821266NickHassanParticipantHi,
God, after He spoke long ago to the fathers in the prophets in many portions and in many ways,
in these last days has spoken to us in His Son….
Heb 1.1-2
February 21, 2018 at 3:56 pm#821267NickHassanParticipantHi.
The first account I composed, Theophilus, about all that Jesus began to do and teach,
until the day he was taken up to heaven,
after he had, BY THE HOLY SPIRIT, given orders to the apostles he had chosen.
acts 1.1-2
February 21, 2018 at 4:54 pm#821268NickHassanParticipantHi,
Therefore the Jews were grumbling about him because he said
“I am the bread that came down out of heaven”
They were saying
”Is not this Jesus, the Son of Joseph, whose father and mother we know? How does he now say ‘I have come down out of heaven?”
Jesus answered and said to them
”Do not grumble among yourselves. No one can come to me unless the Father Who sent me draws him; and I will raise him up on the last day. It is written in the prophets
’And they will all be taught of God’
Everyone who has heard and learned from the Father comes to me. Not that anyone has seen the Father except the one who is from God; he has seen the Father. Truly truly I say to you, he who believes has eternal life. I am the bread of life…..”
It is the Spirit that raises men on the last day. It is the Spirit speaking. It is the Spirit that is the bread of life.
My words are spirit and life
Man cannot live life on bread alone but by every word that comes from the mouth of God.
Jesus tries to stop men thinking in the natural and continues speaking what is spiritual from the Spirit within him.
February 21, 2018 at 6:57 pm#821269NickHassanParticipantHi,
My teaching is not mine but His Who sent me.
jn 7.16
Still men do not listen to the teaching of God in Christ.
February 22, 2018 at 7:55 am#821270NickHassanParticipantHi,
As a result many of his disciples withdrew and were not walking with Him anymore. Jn 6.66
God is no respecter of persons.
He does not apologise for His teachings confusing natural men.
In fact He uses those teachings to sift out the true believers who first believe then seek understanding.
February 22, 2018 at 11:28 am#821271NickHassanParticipantHi,
..”You are not yet 50 years old and have you seen Abraham?”
and Jesus said to them
”Truly, truly I say to you, before Abraham was born I am”
The Spirit spoke through him.
The Spirit is of eternity.
Men still do not listen to the Spirit.
February 22, 2018 at 1:00 pm#821272GeneBalthropParticipantNick….Very well put brother. My hope is that all come to understand this, that God was “in” Jesus reconciling the world to himself. When God the Father sends his spirit into us we also become SONS AND DAUGHTERS OF THE LIVING GOD, WHO IS OUR HEAVENLY FATHER AND JESUS’ FATHER OUR GOD AND, JESUS’ GOD.
Blessed are all who understand this.
Peace and love to you and yours. ……gene
February 22, 2018 at 1:11 pm#821273NickHassanParticipantHi Ed,
2 Tim 1.8
Therefore do not be ashamed of the testimony of our Lord nor of me, his prisoner, but join with me in suffering for the gospel according to the power of God, Who has saved us and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to His own purpose and grace which was granted to us in Christ Jesus from all eternity, but now has been revealed by the appearing of our saviour Christ Jesus, who abolished death and brought life and immortality to light through the gospel.
Only those of earth and unfamiliar with the foreknowledge of God, revealed by the Spirit to Paul, could see this as meaning we were all preexistent beings.
February 22, 2018 at 3:30 pm#821274NickHassanParticipantHi Ed,
And you will testify also, because you have been with me from the beginning.
jn 15.27
You think this means the beginning of all things ?
February 22, 2018 at 4:06 pm#821275NickHassanParticipantHi Ed,
Jude 12
These are the men who are hidden reefs in your love feasts when they feast with you without fear, caring for themselves:
clouds without water, carried along by winds, autumn trees without fruit, doubly dead, uprooted;
wild waves of the sea casting up their own shame like foam;
wandering stars for whom the black darkness has been reserved forever.
Of course this refers to those prophetically who will suffer the second death, the lake of fire.rev 20.14
Nothing to do with any PREEXISTENCE
February 23, 2018 at 8:01 am#821276NickHassanParticipantHi Ed,
Jer 1.5
Before I formed you in the womb I knew you
(the foreknowledge of God)
And before you were born I consecrated you
( consecrated in the womb)
Spoken specifically to the prophet but you think it can be applied to many more people?
By which authority?
February 23, 2018 at 10:45 am#821277NickHassanParticipantHi T8,
You said about your interpretation.
”Amen to the truth”
hmmm.
Other amens than your own might carry some weight.
