The beast which was and is not and goes on to destruction is Satan, spoken of while he is locked in the pit for 1000 years.
He is said to BE one of the seven earthly kings so he manifests in a king, a man.
That is why he is spoken of AS a man in Is 14.

Look up Daniel 7, and you find out what a “beast” is.

Satan is not a “beast”, he is the power behind the beasts.

It is the adversarial Spirit (INTELLECT)working in the children of disobedience (mankind) that is controlling this world to the limit GOD allows. All intellects in Man that is contrary to GOD'S Will is considered an Adversary of GOD, That is what the word SATAN means , look it up. We have all been satans at times in our lives just like Peter and the Pharisees, But with the Holy Spirit of GOD we are able to overcome it , Just as Jesus Did. Jesus overcame HIS SELF in the wilderness, when He put his WILL to DEATH by the HOLY SPIRIT of GOD. Nick can't you see when a person Himself is resisting the Will of GOD he (IS) an Adversary or a Satan. Trying to put the blame on some unseen or unknown Begin of some kind is a cop-out and an excuse for our Own wrong Behavior, we can say the devil made me do it , so therefore i am not at fault. We must understand when we resist the will of GOD (WE) are at fault, not some Spook going around taking control of Peoples minds. WE need to come out of MYSTERY Religions, and think sober. We (ARE) at fault for what we DO and (ARE) Held accountable for (OUR) sins. If it were some other beings fault then why would we need the Blood of Christ for (OUR) Sins.

What you are doing is taking the Spirit or intellect IN a MAN that is causing Him to Sin and saying that force is a (SEPARATE) BEING, when in fact it is Not a Being But the Intellect that is (IN) the Being (MAN)> That represent who the Man himself REALLY (IS).
When Jesus told Peter to get behind me Satan , he was holding Peter responsible for His actions not some unseen spook. IMO
