First, I want to thank our Lord Jesus for all of the things He has done for us. To let us live, up until this very moment is a blessing in itself so THANK GOD!
I’m a 22 year old mother. I love my son more than anything and I want to live a pure, clean life to show him which way to go. So much tragedy has fallen upon us as of late and we are coping to deal. In the midst of all of my troubles one of the most prominent things on my mind is the way that I continously fall into sin. Lust and temptation are the two big things I’m battling at the moment. Let me be more specific (long story short) My boyfriend of 8 years was shot in the head on New Years Eve. As bad as that sounds it was a blessing in disguise because I found the Lord and He gave me strength and wisdom to make it through some of the worst days of my life. We are still in the battle of recovery and its a daily struggle raising my now 3 year old son alone, taking care of my brain-injured, bed-ridden boyfriend, working and attending an online university…not to mention the fact that my family of about 25 people depend on me for everything from rides all over town to the occassional lending of money. It’s rough. But that’s not a complaint, it’s a testimony of how great our God is because in the very core of my troubles I have found peace that I know only comes from God Himself. So I’m grateful. I struggle with sin and it’s something that I desperately want to change. I want to please our Lord and let Him lead my life so that I can work according to His will.
If you have any advice or encouraging words for me please reach out. I will be using this as my “pick me up” when I feel like falling into the entrapment of sin.
Thank you all so much and God bless you for your kindness!

Sounds like rough times alright. Wow.
I heard a saying today. It was in Spanish originally, but came out something like:
“The good times give us happiness, the bad times give us experience.”
God has all of us experiencing both in our lives. Because we need to be happy, but we also need to suffer to be worthy too.
There is a season for all things.
You have encouraged me to share a testimony about myself now, so I will make a new topic on that asap and send you the link.
🙂

Hi Darling.
Scripture for you is He will never leave you or forsake you. Cast “all” your cares upon him, for he cares for you. All things work together for good, for those that love God. Remember, this is only a short time, and God has something better. For temptation and sin, it can be beaten. What used to help me was focusing on every word of the Lord’s Prayer when really badly tempted (a few times). It took my mind away to a different place, and the effects lasted, (so long as I stayed with him). It can help.

Keep the faith that all things happen for the good for those whose seek God and his righteousness. This is a world where we are often tested. May God bless you, your son, and your boyfriend in many ways.

This popped up on my Facebook Wall just now and thought I would share it with you. I can relate to this because I feel like this happened to me.
One day a farmer’s donkey fell down into a well. The animal cried piteously for hours as the farmer tried to figure out what to do. Finally, he decided the animal was old, and the well needed to be covered up anyway; it just wasn’t worth it to retrieve the donkey.
He invited all his neighbors to come over and help him. They all grabbed a shovel and began to shovel dirt into the well. At first, the donkey realized what was happening and cried horribly. Then, to everyone’s amazement he quieted down.
A few shovel loads later, the farmer finally looked down the well. He was astonished at what he saw. With each shovel of dirt that hit his back, the donkey was doing something amazing. He would shake it off and take a step up.
As the farmer’s neighbors continued to shovel dirt on top of the animal, he would shake it off and take a step up. Pretty soon, everyone was amazed as the donkey stepped up over the edge of the well and happily trotted off!
MORAL :
Life is going to shovel dirt on you, all kinds of dirt. The trick to getting out of the well is to shake it off and take a step up. Each of our troubles is a steppingstone. We can get out of the deepest wells just by not stopping, never giving up! Shake it off and take a step up.April 26, 2015 at 9:12 am#795713bodhithartaParticipantAmen! Awesome story
