“Herd Immunity” I think they call that t8. Bad idea imo.
I had a personal health scare this morning unrelated to Covid-19 and I could not get through to Healthline, was cut off they were so overwhelmed with calls. Made me realize we need to take our health into our own hands if able. Stop any unhealthy habits now.
March 24, 2020 at 10:13 am#850809ProclaimerParticipantAnd therein lies another problem. When you have a genuine emergency, the resources for treatment may not be there. Yes, it is always a good idea to live a healthy life.
March 24, 2020 at 10:44 am#850812ProclaimerParticipantHow does COVID-19 compare to other recent viruses?
Experts say Wuhan is milder than other illnesses in the COVID-19 family, such as severe acute respiratory syndrome (sars) and Middle East respiratory syndrome (mers). But it is still deadly dangerous. COVID-19 has an estimated mortality rate of 3.4% but it could be a lot lower than that as milder cases of infection are not likely tested.
The main problem with fighting COVID-19 is its infection rate which is estimated to be higher than the other recent viruses. COVID-19 has two or three times the transmission rate compared to the flu and the case fatality rate for COVID-19 is around 30 times higher than the flu. Here’s how it compares to other more serious viruses:
Infection rates
COVID-19 has the highest infection rate, however it could also be much lower due to milder cases of COVID-19 infection going unreported. This stat will become more accurate over time. The graph shows that it is similar to sars.
Mortality rate of recent viruses
Look at Mers, I never realised how deadly that was.
Imagine if the first reported cases in China were not suppressed by the regime. It could have been contained like mers.
Mortality stats by age for Covid-19
Like all initial stats, as time progresses we will get more accurate data on COVID-19 which could change what is currently being reported. For this reason, I also didn’t bother quoting the sources for the data.
March 24, 2020 at 11:28 am#850821ProclaimerParticipantCould China’s response have worked better?
Epidemiologists say China’s mammoth response had one glaring flaw: it started too late. In the initial weeks of the outbreak in December and January, Wuhan authorities were slow to report cases of the mysterious infection, which delayed measures to contain it, says Howard Markel, a public-health researcher at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. “The delay of China to act is probably responsible for this world event,” says Markel.
A model simulation by Lai Shengjie and Andrew Tatem, emerging-disease researchers at the University of Southampton, UK, shows that if China had implemented its control measures a week earlier, it could have prevented 67% of all cases there. Implementing the measures 3 weeks earlier, from the beginning of January, would have cut the number of infections to 5% of the total.

A 52-year-old man who contracted the coronavirus and said he spent days in the ICU unable to breathe said good-bye to his wife and children on Friday night as he prepared to die. Then a friend sent Rio Giardinieri news of the drug hydroxychloroquine working on coronavirus patients, prompting Giardinieri to contact an infectious disease doctor who warned him it was still incompletely tested, but acceded to his request and prescribed it for him. According to Giardinieri, the next morning he felt normal.

March 29, 2020 at 4:04 pm#851058MiiaParticipantAs I said on FB today. So what’s next. Government economic panic induced improperly tested worldwide covid-19 vaccines with serious, serious delayed unknown side effects? Just a thought. 🤔
March 29, 2020 at 4:13 pm#851059MiiaParticipantPublic will be outraged at those who don’t have the vaccine, they will be imprisoned for public safety. Because even though the majority have the vaccine they have no proof how long immunity lasts.

That seems accurate for today. If you say abortion is murder, like Donald Trump, agree that Socialism is bad, then you are mad according to the brainwashed masses.
March 30, 2020 at 2:27 pm#851099MiiaParticipantRegards to video “Is China profiting from virus”.
Here’s a thought. Imagine if China engineered this virus (which my dad believes but I don’t /didn’t), Right. And China finds the vaccine, and markets the vaccine (dangerous thought right there). And this is all a setup? Just a thought.
March 30, 2020 at 5:11 pm#851102ProclaimerParticipantIf that is not the case, it could certainly be on the cards in the future.
