Interesting. I always thought they were endemic to Australia, so I googled it. This is what I found:
The birds called magpies in Australia are, however, not related to the magpies in the rest of the world (see Australian magpie).
Australian fauna is amazing. They seem to have the equivalent animal elsewhere, but are not related whatsoever.
For example, there are marsupials that are basically mice, but they hop.

T8…..yeah, our magpies are apsolute and destinct, white and black, a very pretty bird, their stool is messy and stinky, so they are not caged very offen here, while yours seems more gray and mixed white, our are different.
