Quote (seekingtruth @ May 05 2010,03:52) terraricca,
I recently had my business, patent, savings, retirement, and equity in my home taken from me by an individual who used the courts as a weapon, and this was in spite that I had been faithful with him in all I did. This was a major blow to my whole family and it seemed wrong that this was my reward for doing right. But I knew the word and responded by praying for him. There were moments it would get to me and I would burn with anger, it was just so unfair and I could feel it eating me up inside. But then God would remind me to love my enemy and pray for him, once I did a peace would settle over me. As time went by the period of anger became less and less frequent to the point it has been months since my last one and it was minor. God caused me to reflect on the last couple of years, despite no saving or even a job we have survived, we truly feel blessed and it has been a time of growth in the Lord for the whole family even my adult son.I believe that God wants us to learn the power of love, I now truly do want this individual to repent knowing his value as an individual far exceeds all that was taken from us. If you have to have your whole world turned upside down to gain this understanding it is well worth it. I cannot even begin to touch on all that God has done for us over these last few years (it would take a book).
So to answer your question, do it for your sake, for all that God can accomplish. Remembering that we were once enemies of God. It helps keep things in perspective and in doing so we demonstrate the love of God.

SKTthanks and you are not alone ,i have a similar experience and lost all things exept the familly and our faith in the true God.
Jas 1:2 Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds,
Jas 1:3 because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance.
Jas 1:4 Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.as forour love our enemy;
Jas 2:24 You see that a person is justified by what he does and not by faith alone.Jas 2:26 As the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without deeds is dead.
Jas 3:10 Out of the same mouth come praise and cursing. My brothers, this should not be.
Jas 4:1 What causes fights and quarrels among you? Don’t they come from your desires that battle within you?
Jas 4:5 Or do you think Scripture says without reason that the spirit he caused to live in us envies intensely?
Jas 4:6 But he gives us more grace. That is why Scripture says:
“God opposes the proud
but gives grace to the humble.”
Jas 4:7 Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from youJas 4:4 You adulterous people, don’t you know that friendship with the world is hatred toward God? Anyone who chooses to be a friend of the world becomes an enemy of God.
Jas 2:12 Speak and act as those who are going to be judged by the law that gives freedom,
Jas 2:13 because judgment without mercy will be shown to anyone who has not been merciful. Mercy triumphs over judgmentJas 1:25 But the man who looks intently into the perfect law that gives freedom, and continues to do this, not forgetting what he has heard, but doing it—he will be blessed in what he does
Jas 1:27 Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.
the applied action of loving our enemy make us ,to ignore ourself as first but Gods will be first in our lives

look at Moses who became so humble he was more gentle than his sheep's,but because of it ,he could implore God in behalf the nation of Israel in the desert even do they ad sin and broken God s law,and so it was with Jesus who came to us even do we were sinners he begged us to repent to received live, any sinner is enemy of God but we preach the gospel so they may be saved.
this is what the love of God does trough the righteous.and this is the reason to love our enemy
