Although there are a lot of words that describe love, I think it is hard to define because it is pure and not the result of a combination of things.
If I had to define orange, I could say it is the combination of red and yellow. But if I had to define red, that would be difficult because it is a primary colour.
Love is also primary and many attributes of God's character are all combined with love somewhere in the mix.
Perhaps love is best described as God's most intimate nature and character.
Heres a good one.

Love is the characteristic of a giver not a taker, this is why God is love he gives first to recieve in return a simple thanks from our hearth with our love for him,if we do not say thanks then that mean we are not givers but takers,and this breaks all requests for receiving live from God.

To all……………. You have presented many aspects of Love but what is the bottom line of Love. Love and Hate, love saves hate kills. “God so loved the world he gave his uniquely begotten son that whosoever believes on him should not parish”. All who call on the name of the Lord shall be saved. Love holds on to, while hate rejects. That is what love does it holds onto and saves, it is the opposite of Hate which rejects and kills. GOD IS LOVE

The bottom line is if you don't have LOVE, your probably not living a life for GOD. You are probably in a pool of darkness.
I can say this, cause I know from experience. I'm coming out “HEAD FIRST” of a pool of darkness right now.
LOVE is the GLUE that keeps you in your walk with GOD. If you don't believe that, go around hating, and being mad, and upset at everything you see or hear. You'll find out real quick.
You need LOVE. If you don't have it, pray for it. Cause it will make your life a lot easier.

This is the whole nut shell.

This song is so good for so many reasons. The haunting violins, the message, lines like, “If I give to a needy soul, but don't have love, then who is poor? It seems all the poverty is found in me.”
But in the middle of the song, the guy does a monologue, paraphrasing the passage from Paul that Gene just posted……….

1 If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. 2 If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. 3 If I give all I possess to the poor and surrender my body to the flames, but have not love, I gain nothing.……….and it is powerful with that background music.

it seems that God once more shows the way ;JN 3:16 “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.David was a man that add Love ;2SA 24:24 However, the king said to Araunah, “No, but I will surely buy it from you for a price, for I will not offer burnt offerings to the LORD my God which cost me nothing.” So David bought the threshing floor and the oxen for fifty shekels of silver.

To all………….Paul did not separate Love from the action he separated the reasons for what was causing the ACTION. It is what is behind that action that counts. True love will aways produce an action , Love is Patient , kind, long suffering, believes all things are possible with God, slow to anger, forgiving , always ready for a new beginnings of friendships and relationships , feels sorrow for others and is easily entreated. IMO

GLove in Gods world is not the same than in men 's world ,
if God has shown his love to us by sending his son to pay for our sins ,so that we may be saved from the curse of dead ,how can we has men show him our love in return
