You do not hear a message you do not understand. Paul used reason in spreading the message and those who came to believe the message used reason in order to seek to properly understand it.

The Spirit is necessary for reason to be successful and faith is necessary for the effect of reason to take hold. God is always in charge.

Reason and Scripture go together to teach and train believers in righteousness. The Spirit uses our reason to teach us.

on the other hand ;

for it is the wellspring of life.
Pr 5:12 You will say, “How I hated discipline!
How my heart spurned correction!
Pr 6:14 who plots evil with deceit in his heart—
he always stirs up dissension.
Pr 6:18 a heart that devises wicked schemes,
feet that are quick to rush into evil,

it seems that we have two possibilities here one to do good and one to do wrong ;so your conclusion is wrong but seems right if we kill the other scriptures ;
