    Hi CO,
    Of course you need to discern between those in Christ and the unsaved heathen nations.
    The heathens have no inheritance in Christ.

    They are vessels of wrath fitted for destruction while those in Christ find mercy

    Rom9
    22What if God, willing to shew his wrath, and to make his power known, endured with much longsuffering the vessels of wrath fitted to destruction:

    23And that he might make known the riches of his glory on the vessels of mercy, which he had afore prepared unto glory,

    Hi CO,
    Indeed.
    Correctly cutting the word of truth first demands context.
    Applying verses to the unsaved that do not belong to them could cause them not to repent.

    The blessings of Christ arte not made to any outside of the new covenant of circumcision.

    Col2 [to the saints]
    8Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.

    9For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.

    10And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power:

    11In whom also ye are circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, in putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ:

    12Buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead.

    13And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses;

    I think that we must agree to disagree, this discussion is going nowhere. We will know the truth at the consummation. See you then…we will all be there.

    I hope you find the truth.
    Making assumptions is unhelpful.

    Hi,
    There are teachings about the OT law given by Jesus to the Jews.
    Gentiles have never been under the OT law so they do not apply to us.

    But Jesus also preached and taught a great deal about the kingdom of God and these do apply to all who are invited into the body of Christ to be one with each other, with him and with God.

    I've heard many christians say, “we are not under law, but under grace.” This, in itself, is a true statement. The problem comes when believers accept the idea that they can do anything and God winks at their sin and they are in the kingdom because they said a few magic words. All I have to say to this is that it is harder [for the flesh] to walk in the Spirit than it is for it to walk in legalism… Actually it is impossible for flesh to walk in the spirit, but the pharisees perfected legalism in their flesh. Are they in the kingdom?!

    Here is what I'm talking about:

    Matt 5:21-22

    21 “You have heard that it was said to the people long ago, 'Do not murder, and anyone who murders will be subject to judgment.' 22 But I tell you that anyone who is angry with his brother will be subject to judgment.
    NIV

    Matt 5:27-29

    27 “You have heard that it was said, 'Do not commit adultery.' 28 But I tell you that anyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart.
    NIV

    Matt 5:43-45

    43 “You have heard that it was said, 'Love your neighbor and hate your enemy.' 44 But I tell you : Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, 45 that you may be sons of your Father in heaven.
    NIV

    Matt 5:47-48
    48 Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect.
    NIV

    The law dealt with the actions of the people.. Jesus is dealing with the motive of their heart… If the root is rotten, the whole tree is rotten…

    Love sums up the law.. sin is selfishness… selfishness is opposite of love. It is a LOT harder to have self-sacrificial, all-consuming love than to follow some rules… If the love is there, you don't have to worry about following the law. You will fulfill the law.

    I do not believe that Israel is under law anymore.. If they are followers of Messiah, they are under the Spirit.

    Hi,
    There is one body made up of those who were Jews and gentiles.
    The same gospel was preached to both groups, the chosen people and the strangers.

    Eph2
    11Wherefore remember, that ye being in time past Gentiles in the flesh, who are called Uncircumcision by that which is called the Circumcision in the flesh made by hands;

    12That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world:

    13But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ.

    14For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us;

    15Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace;

    16And that he might reconcile both unto God in one body by the cross, having slain the enmity thereby:

    17And came and preached peace to you which were afar off, and to them that were nigh.

    18For through him we both have access by one Spirit unto the Father.

    19Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellowcitizens with the saints, and of the household of God;

    20And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone;

    21In whom all the building fitly framed together groweth unto an holy temple in the Lord:

    22In whom ye also are builded together for an habitation of God through the Spirit.

    Now by the election and transforming grace of God they are one.
    1Peter, an apostle of Jesus Christ, to the strangers scattered throughout Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia, and Bithynia,

    2Elect according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, through sanctification of the Spirit, unto obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ: Grace unto you, and peace, be multiplied.

    3Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,

    1Peter 1

    Now that the gentiles are grafted into the olive of true Israel they are among the chosen people.

    1Peter2
    4To whom coming, as unto a living stone, disallowed indeed of men, but chosen of God, and precious,

    5Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.

    6Wherefore also it is contained in the scripture, Behold, I lay in Sion a chief corner stone, elect, precious: and he that believeth on him shall not be confounded.

    7Unto you therefore which believe he is precious: but unto them which be disobedient, the stone which the builders disallowed, the same is made the head of the corner,

    8And a stone of stumbling, and a rock of offence, even to them which stumble at the word, being disobedient: whereunto also they were appointed.

    9But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light;

    10Which in time past were not a people, but are now the people of God: which had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy.

    Christ is not divided

    1 Corinthians 1:13
    Is Christ divided? was Paul crucified for you? or were ye baptized in the name of Paul?

    Shania……….Grace (God's influencing on the heart) is never against the law, it's the way to fulfill the law. No true Christian would every think He has a license to break God's laws because he is under GRACE. IMO

    Love and peace to you and yours…………..gene
