Hi barley,Won't you come join Gene and I in the Phil 2 thread? We're getting down to the crux of that scripture. Bring your “ears to hear” and “eyes to see” with you, okay?

Mikeboll,Since you are not satisfied with the answers I gave, how would you answer your questions?
Quote I wonder why then that Jesus stated that sentence as a contrast to the ones he was speaking with? Would they not ALL have “seen things in the Father's presence” if what you say is true?
Why did Jesus single himself out and away from them by saying “the things I have seen in the Father's presence” as opposed to the things they learned from “their fathers”?
What insight do you have regarding your questions?

I'm bailing from this thread. It was a mistake to post it because it is very weak as far as proving a pre-existence.
Paul said he was “in the presence of God” while he was on earth, and although I don't think that's what Jesus meant in this verse, I can't prove it.
Why haven't you come to see me in Phil 2 like I requested? Bring your thinking cap, because your brother Gene is getting all frazzled now that we're to the crux of the passage.
I also look forward to seeing you in my new one: “Root and Branch”.
