ParticipantHi KW,
You are welcome to your hope of eternal life in your current body.
I would prefer the new one.

ParticipantHi KW,
So who do you think the two witnesses of Revelation are?
December 9, 2015 at 4:44 pm#805911kerwin
ParticipantNick,
That has not been revealed to me yet, nor do I think their time is near. Things must get much worse that they are now if there is likelihood of all flesh perishing from the earth. John told us enough to be on the watch for them.

ParticipantNick,
Hi KW,
No-you claim he was raised to heaven in the body he was buried in.
flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom.
The flesh body is of earth and is corruptible.
Have you not read that the creature will be delivered from servitude to corruption? (Romans 8:21)

ParticipantHi KW,
So you expect them to be men?
Think spiritually.
Have you not heard of the new creation?
are you trapped in the old?
December 9, 2015 at 5:10 pm#805914kerwin
ParticipantNick,
The new creation is of the Spirit; the body is irrelevant.

ParticipantHi KW,
Paul did not think so.
When his tent was taken down he knew he had a new dwelling awaiting him.
December 9, 2015 at 6:45 pm#805916kerwin
ParticipantNick,
You are misquoting Paul as he used the word “if” and did not use the word “new”.
December 9, 2015 at 6:50 pm#805917NickHassan
ParticipantHi KW,
Pedantic approach.
Pauls’ tent was torn down
December 9, 2015 at 6:54 pm#805918kerwin
ParticipantNick,
Nerveless, you misquoted him.
The “new” is fine because the heavenly body is the new body but missing the “if” changes the meaning of his words.

ParticipantHi KW,
When I use quote marks I am quoting.
Legalism is distasteful.
December 9, 2015 at 7:31 pm#805920kerwin
ParticipantNick,
It is not your paraphrase that is the error it is changing the meaning. Paul did not testify the old body would pass away but instead said if it should then there is a body presently in heaven.December 9, 2015 at 9:13 pm#805921NickHassan
ParticipantHi KW,
And in 1cor 15 we are told that the perishable must put on the imperishable and this mortal must put on immortality.
December 9, 2015 at 9:16 pm#805922NickHassan
ParticipantHi KW,
The mortal will be swallowed up by life.

ParticipantHi KW,
Rom 7 24
Wretched man that I am! Who will set me free from the body of this death?
December 10, 2015 at 6:57 am#805924kerwin
ParticipantNick,
The mortal body puts on life when it is quickened by the Spirit and so that which was perishable puts on the imperishable.

ParticipantHi KW,
2 Cor 5 . 16
Therefore from now on we recognise no one according to the flesh;even though we have known Christ according to the flesh, yet now we know him in this way no longer. Therefore if anyone is in Christ he is a new creature, the old things have passed away, new things have come.
But you say Paul is wrong and the flesh is forever?
December 10, 2015 at 7:06 am#805926NickHassan
ParticipantHi KW,
You are wrong.
The new body is inherited.
It is waiting in the heavenlies.
December 10, 2015 at 8:52 am#805927kerwin
ParticipantNick,
Scripture does not say the new body is inherited. It instead states the body changes. (1 Corinthians 15:52) It tells us the dead will be raised imperishable as they have a body in heaven.
December 10, 2015 at 8:55 am#805928kerwin
ParticipantNick,
Spiritually those in Christ are a new creature though they are still living their mortal lives.
