If an idol is something in the place of God that is not God, then of those who say Jesus is God, have they made Jesus an idol?
And is the word ‘idol’ always negative?
We often use that word to describe famous singers for example.

I took the dictionary meaning and pasted it. !, 2 and 4 would suit what your trying to say. number 4 would suit the image of Jesus that churchianity is serving up today.
Trinitarians say he is co eternal with God the father. but where do you hear or how much do you hear the supposed other partner venerated as much as jesus?

Romans 1.18f shows how God feels about how men have twisted His truth into idol worship.
They have received the punishment for turning His truth into a lie and worshiping instead what He created
