    Hi,

    Acts 22.15

    Now why do you delay?

Get up and be baptised, and wash away your sins, calling on his name.

    Hi Ed,

    Jn 8.51

Truly, truly I say to you, if anyone keeps my word he will never see death.

The Word is of the Spirit.

To accept and treasure the living word is to take in the Spirit of eternal life.

Even though he dies he lives.

    Hi Ed,

Lk 9.1 and parallel verses in Lk9 and Mt 16 continue the teaching that real life is in the Spirit.

Abraham Isaac and Jacob too are alive to God.

And real death is not physical but is the second death after the Judgement.

    Hi,

    Acts 8.16f

As they were going along the road they came to some water; and the Eunuch said

    ’Look !Water!

What prevents me from being baptised?’

    and Philip said

’If you believe with all your heart, you may’

    And he answered and said

’I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God’

And he ordered the chariot to stop and they both went down into the water,Philip as well as the Eunuch, and he baptised him.

Philip had been with the Eunuch on his chariot teaching him about the scriptures and preaching Jesus to him.

It is obvious that the importance of baptism in the name of Jesus had been discussed as it was the Eunuch that requested it.

    Hi,

    1Cor 2.13

    Has Christ been divided?

Paul was not crucified for you, was he?

Or were you baptised in the name of Paul?

    Rom6.3

Or do you not know that all of us who have been baptised into Christ Jesus have been baptised into his death.

Therefore we have been buried with him through baptism into death, so that as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, so we too might walk in newness of life. For if we have become united with him in the likeness to his death, certainly we shall also be in the likeness to his resurrection..

We must be baptised in the name of Jesus Christ.

There is no other name under heaven by which we can be saved.

No trinity, no church, nothing else is relevant.

    Hi,

    Acts 16.27f

When the jailer awoke and saw the prison doors opened, he drew his sword and was about to kill himself, supposing that the prisoners had escaped. But Paul cried out with a loud voice, saying

’Do not harm yourself, for we are all here!’

and he called for lights and rushed in, and trembling with fear he fell down before Paul and Silas, and after he brought them out , he said

’Sirs, what must I do to be saved?’

    They said

’Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved, you and your household’

And they spoke the word of the Lord to him together with all who were in his house. And he took them that very hour of the night and washed their wounds, and immediately he was baptised, he and all his household. And he brought them into his house and set food before them, and rejoiced greatly, having believed in God with his whole household.

Believe in God, Believe also in me.

Baptism in the name of Jesus Christ follows repentance and belief.

    Acts 4.12

‘And there is salvation in no one else; for there is no other name under heaven that has been given among men by which we must be saved.’

Not in the name of a trinity.

    Hello All,

    Baptize –wash clean

Ephesians 4: 4 There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling; 5 One Lord, one faith, one baptism, 6 One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.

Romans 6: 3 Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death? 4 Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. 5 For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection:

We are washed clean of our sins through the Anointed One’s death.

There is one Lord, one faith, one baptism, and one hope.

The One Lord is the ANOINTED, the One faith is in the true Gospel, the good news that upon Jesus’s baptism he received God’s Spirit without measure, and through that anointing he was made perfect, and thus was able to be the sacrifice without blemish or spot to cleanse us from our sins.

Through the One baptism, the baptism of Jesus becoming the Christ and thus our savior, we have been freed from the penalty of our sins. Through this One baptism we are all through his death baptized ourselves (washed clean).

Jesus died without sin he was clean, and for this reason he had to be raised from the dead, he could not be held to the penalty of sin, which is death. We too shall not be held to the penalty of death, because Christ made us clean. This is HOW we are planted in likeness of his death. Upon his death he was clean and likewise upon our deaths we are seen as clean. As we are in the likeness of his death, we too will also be in likeness of his resurrection from the dead, this is our One Hope.

    Hi Jodi,

    No magic.

The work of Jesus does not save those who ignore his commands.

    Repent and be baptised in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins ;

and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

You must be reborn of water and the Spirit.

Arise and be baptised, and wash away your sins, calling on his name.

And corresponding to that baptism now saves you,-not the removal of dirt from the flesh,

but an appeal to God for a clean conscience- through the resurrection of Jesus Christ.

The type of all baptisms – Spirit, Fire – is water baptism.

    Hi Jodi,

It is foolishness to imagine that scripture saying there is ONE BAPTISM means we have to decide which of several is the real one.

Rather it is meant to remind us that we are made one through baptism in the name of Jesus Christ.

We are buried with him by baptism into his death that we may be raised with him into life.

Circumcision was mandatory for Jewish men.  Water baptism in the name of Jesus Christ is the new circumcision.

    Col 2.11

and in Him you were also circumcised with a circumcision made without hands,

    in the removal of the body of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ;

having been buried with him in baptism, in which you were also raised up with him

through faith in the working of God, Who raised him from the dead.

    Rom 6.3

Or do you not know that all who have been baptised into Christ Jesus have been baptised into his death?

Therefore we have been buried with him through baptism into death, in order that as Christ was raised from the dead

through the glory of the Father, so also we might walk in newness of life.

    Hi Nick and All,

Please pay attention to what the scriptures reveal.

For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the gospel-

it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe.

1 Corinthians 1:14 I thank God that I baptized none of you, but Crispus and Gaius; 15 Lest any should say that I had baptized in mine own name. 16 And I baptized also the household of Stephanas: besides, I know not whether I baptized any other. 17 For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the gospel: not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of none effect. 18 For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God. 19 For it is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and will bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent. 20 Where is the wise? where is the scribe? where is the disputer of this world? hath not God made foolish the wisdom of this world? 21 For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe. 22 For the Jews require a sign, and the Greeks seek after wisdom: 23 But we preach Christ crucified, unto the Jews a stumblingblock, and unto the Greeks foolishness; 24 But unto them which are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God.

1 John 3:9 Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.

John 3:5 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.

BELOW is a VERY important point,

Being dunked in a pool or a lake is NOT being BORN of water. When Paul was baptized he was not born of water nor born of the Spirit, he was immersed in water and he did receive gifts of the Spirit, he became an apostle. The purpose of his gift was to bring people into faith, into the gospel of the truth.

Paul spoke clearly AFTER his baptism that he was still a sinner, and that he desired to have a body like Christ, where he could no longer be tempted to sin.

Paul clearly DIED not yet having been BORN of God as it is defined in 1 John 3, nor as Jesus meant in John 3. Paul’s water baptism was not him being BORN of the fountain of the water of life and of the Spirit, because that occurs when you rise from the dead, or occurs for those who are still alive at Christ’s return. When the mortal puts on immortality that eternal life is you being BORN of the fountain of the water of life and of the Spirit.

Revelation 21: 6 And he said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely.

Revelation 22: 17 And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely.

See below, to understand that people’s baptism and reception of a gift from the Holy Spirit and WHAT THAT WAS FOR,

Ephesians 4: 4 There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling; 5 One Lord, one faith, one baptism, 6 One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all. 7 But unto every one of us is given grace according to the measure of the gift of Christ. 8 Wherefore he saith, When he ascended up on high, he led captivity captive, and gave gifts unto men. ..11 And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; 12 For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ: 13 Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:

People were being baptized going through a physical ritual to prove their inward faith and then they received a certain gift of the Holy Spirit. The PURPOSE of that gift was to help bring others into the true Gospel.

1 Corinthians 12:27 Now ye are the body of Christ, and members in particular. 28 And God hath set some in the church, first apostles, secondarily prophets, thirdly teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, diversities of tongues. 29 Are all apostles? are all prophets? are all teachers? are all workers of miracles? 30 Have all the gifts of healing? do all speak with tongues? do all interpret? 31 But covet earnestly the best gifts: and yet shew I unto you a more excellent way.

The true Gospel is that there is ONE baptism that saved us, the baptism and anointing of Jesus, who then walked with God into being perfected through his unrelenting faith he proved to God by taking up the cross and dying to wash away our sins. There is ONE Lord, the Christ that was raised from the dead given all authority over the earth. There is One faith, that as we are planted in likeness to his death, we will also be likened to his resurrection given eternal life. What brings us to being BORN of God, to the resurrection of Life and not one of judgement, is that we have faith that we are washed clean (baptized) through his death.

During Paul’s time God had appointed certain men to baptize people and lay hands upon them giving them a gift from the Spirit, the purpose of this was so that others with their gift could bring more into faith to the true Gospel. It is your FAITH in the true Gospel, that is counted as righteousness, not a physical ritual done to show your inward faith and repentant heart. You people sound like Pharisees!! You think it is a ritual that saves you, that makes you clean, that makes you righteous? No it is your heart, your mind, your faith, because God has called you to believing in the truth.

Abraham, Moses, David, Isaiah, etc.. they were given the gift of the Spirit of prophesy, able to see the future, able to have faith in the word and promises God gave them. They saw God’s plan and the coming Christ, the man to be anointed with God’s Spirit full of light and truth who would bring that which YHWH promised from the beginning, eternal life to human beings. They saw a man that would sit on David’s throne for an eternity and be king over all kings on earth. They were given God’s WORD, they BELIEVED in God’s promise, they knew their sins would be wiped clean, and through that faith in the future that God had given them to see, they were counted as righteous and worthy to obtain eternal life upon Christ’s second coming.

39 And these all, having obtained a good report through faith, received not the promise: 40 God having provided some better thing for us, that they without us should not be made perfect.

We are BORN of God made perfect at Christ’s return, it is then that we are BORN of the water of the fountain of life, born of the Spirit receiving eternal life.

As we are told in Acts, David is still DEAD, he did not ascend to heaven, he died knowing that he would sleep the sleep of death until Christ’s return. The FAITH that he had counted him as worthy to obtain the promise.

Romans 4:9 Cometh this blessedness then upon the circumcision only, or upon the uncircumcision also? for we say that faith was reckoned to Abraham for righteousness.

Romans 4:13 For the promise, that he should be the heir of the world, was not to Abraham, or to his seed, through the law, but through the righteousness of faith.

A physical ritual such as circumcision and likewise water baptism DOES NOT save you, it is your FAITH, as your FAITH is counted unto you as being righteous and thus being seen as righteous you are worthy to be born of God upon your resurrection receiving eternal life.

How may “Christians” today receive a water baptism?  Out of them how many do we see being given a gift of God’s Spirit?.. made true apostles, made true prophets, made true teachers, able to heal the sick with a word? Pastors are FOOLS to say come you must receive a water baptism from me in order to be saved, LIES. It is your inward faith that God has worked in you, not a ritual to show our faith, that counts you as being worthy to obtain the promise.

THERE is ONE Baptism that has SAVED US, if you have FAITH in this ONE baptism and anointing of Jesus who then was perfected through that anointing and thus became the perfect sacrifice able to wash our sins clean, you are worthy to obtain the promise, worthy to be raised being born of God no longer able to commit sin, born of the water of the fountain of life and the Spirit.

    Ephesians 4 we are told,

he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; 12 For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ: 13 Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:

People are telling me I must be dunked in water in order to be saved, these people don’t even acknowledge who Christ is, that he is a perfect human being. They do not comprehend this passage, that Christ gave gifts of the Spirit to BRING people into the unity of this FAITH of who Christ is. They do not comprehend that being led to FAITH likewise leads you into the resurrection of life, where it is then that you are BORN of God, where you are now incapable of committing a sin, because you are no longer tempted through a weak body, you have been raised with a body of glory, with a body of power, with a body that has eternal life.
