    Hi All.

Just curious about the backgrounds of many here and even those who do not post.

It would be interesting to hear from some as to their Christian experience and if they denounced the Trinity and why!

    Blessings

    I voted because I love poll's!  :;):

But I think the question is a bit broad only because most of Christendom is trinitarian.  So I predict that the poll with show a near 100% for those who came to know Jesus through a trinitarian.  Anyway, I've shared my experience before many times here.  I'm sure you want to hear from some new folks.

Let's have more poll's people!

We came out of the Catholic Church. I taught that doctrine to all 4 of our children. We never read the Bible in the R.C.C. so when we did. Wow.

I found too many scriptures indicating non-equality between Father and Son. At the time I believed there were only 2 options either you believed (in the trinity) or you were a non-believer. It was one of the hardest things I ever did to accept the possibility that it wasn't as I had been taught, I was greatly concerned that I may have “missed the boat” so to speak until I found scripture harmonizing better.

Having discovered that truth can be found by an average someone like me (thank the Father for His Spirit to guide us to all truth) I've chose to ignore what I've been taught for the most part and discover what scripture really says.

I was so excited when I found this site and discovered I wasn't the only one who was finding conflict between what they read in scripture and what was commonly taught. I only wish some here would remember we are to have love for one another and have more patience (as the Father has had with me) in most cases people are not perverting scripture their only echoing what they've been taught and snide remarks or angry confrontation does little to help them see the errors of their ways (actually I believe it makes it harder).

    Hi Wj,
Thanks for openning another thread of proving the figures that support Trinity I mean at least who started their Christian career through the basic belief of Trinity. yes I am one among them and I was taught in my Sunday school about the Trinity. I accepted the Lord in the year 1983 through a Pentecostal Church which also believes Trinity. But when I started reading the Bible I found lot of questions unanswered on the Triune God. I used to argue with our Pastors and Christian leaders but no one could give me proper explanation on Trinity they used to end the arguement by telling God is mystery some thing beyond our description. All these years I was keeping quite and I started reading much on internet last 5 years. God openned my understanding I started finding similar groups of believers who also have such doubts on Trinity and finally I landed on this Forum Heaven Net. it helped me a lot to release all my old inhibitions on knowldge about the God of the Bible and the difficult subject trinity. I started unlearning many things and started learning many things like Monotheism of Bible, myth of free will, myths of preexistence of Jesus, eternal torment, immortality of soul etc.
I hope many in this forum agree with me that they learnt many new things from this forum.
    Peace to all

WJ…….I agree with Mandy, more than likely everyone here originally heard about religion from Catholic of Protestant trinitarian teaching because these False teaching was what baiscally to over the true church, History shows that that a apostate church would rise up and it started officially with the teaching of the Jesus of the trinity, and of course many were trotured and killed if the disagreed with their teaching so strength and Fore was on the side of that teaching, and it predominated the world , so most would have heard from that form of doctrine. But what interesting is there always was and still is those who God Has opened there eyes to see that false Doctrine. In fact today it is even the dominate doctrine taught by Christendom. So if your point is going to be some type of condoning those false churches as spreading the Gospel that brought us to the true Jesus that would be wrong seeing the they are the prevaricators of false teachings of the trinity of which the true Jesus is not part of.

    Hi WJ:

I was raised by parents who were Catholic and they taught me about God, but I saw many things in the doctrines and the practices of the Catholic church which made me reject Catholicism.  I was married in the Assembly of God church, and I was a member of a Southern Baptist church for many years, but I did not have a personal relationship with God.

I had actually had become skeptical that there was a God, but when my wife was going to leave me after we had been married 15 years and take my son with her, I turned to the God in prayer, praying “Lord I if you are there, I would like for my wife and I to stay together if it be thy will, but nevertheless, not my will but yours be done”.  He heard me from heaven and baptized me with the Holy Spirit.

And so, no, unless Jesus is a trinitarian, I did not come to God through a trinitarian.

    God Bless

I am glad he heard you and baptised you with the Holy Spirit.

I am not trying to pick a fight, but consider your words.

You say you turned to God in prayer, then you say “He” baptised you with the Holy Spirit. Who is the baptiser?

Have you ever considered that when you say God spoke to you that it is Yeshua? Or would you say it is not Yeshua?

Can you tell the difference when the Lord speaks to you if it is the Father or Yeshua or the Holy Spirit?

Just something to ponder. It amazes me how people talk about Yeshua and the Father calling them Lord out of the same mouth yet say that Yeshua is not their God!

    Blessings! WJ

I came to know that God was my heavenly Father and that Jesus was His Son and my savior as a young girl.  I grew up under that teaching and never rejected that.  In college, I learned how to study the Bible better and make my faith my own.  I was baptized and this time by immersion (the first was as an infant in a protestant church).  So, as I grow in the Lord, I adapt my beliefs to what I learn to be more accurate according to God's word.  I think that a yes vote is a little misleading here because even though I grew up in a protestant church that held to the trinity doctrine, my parents didn't realize that the doctrine states that the Son is equal to the Father until I discussed this with them after I learned that there was a better explanation to the relationship between the Son and the Father and the Holy Spirit.  It wasn't a doctrine that led me to the Lord, it was being raised in a Christian home and attending a Christian church.  Even though I have attended churches all my life that have held to the trinity doctrine, the salvation message given was regarding John 3:16, “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that who so ever believes on Him shall not perish but have everlasting life.”  That is what my salvation is based on not the trinity doctrine.  I would bet that most trinitarians do not know what the doctrine is in its fullness.  I know that the Christians that attend the churches that adhere to the trinity admit that they do not understand it.  I believe there is a better explanation to the relationship within the Godhead and I do not want to go back to a past of not understanding and just accepting it.

    Hi Brother:

Jesus is the one who baptizes with the Holy Spirit of this there is no doubt.  No man can come to the Father but by him.

When he was going to ascend to heaven to his position at the right hand of the Father, he said this:

    Quote
Jhn 20:17 Jesus saith unto her, Touch me not; for I am not yet ascended to my Father: but go to my brethren, and say unto them, I ascend unto my Father, and your Father; and [to] my God, and your God.

Jesus is my Lord and without him I could not have been reconciled to our God.  He is worthy of all praise, glory and honor, and I love him with all of my heart, but he is not my God.  I am subjected to God through him.

You seem to imply by this thread that because people have come to God through the preaching of a person who believes in the trinity that the doctrine must be correct.  But I ask what is the gospel message that you were preaching?  Was it “God in the persons, blessed trinity” or was it “Jesus Christ and him crucified”?

I believe that the “trinty doctrine” is a misunderstanding of scripture, and I know of at least three individuals who have been saved through my ministry, and so what does the trinity have to do with someone being saved?

Anyway, brother I see your heart and know that you love God even as I do, and I love you and want the very best that God has for you and your family.

Greetings All…….I was brought up in the Catholic Church and my parents were practicing Catholics who insisted on a Catholic School education for all seven of us…I am the third of seven and somewhat of a rebel….The doctrines of the church were taught but meant nothing to me….Iwas excommunicated when I married a Jewish woman (non practicing)…My interest in the Bible began with the teachings of the Church of God….I am a coworker, supporting a few of them, however, some what confused with the conflict in some of the teachings between them….It took three life threatening experiences in my life to realize that God has a purpose for me,and my prayer is that some day I realize it and act on it….

I was raised Lutheran, I thought it was non-sense as a child and for the weak and foolish.  I came to God as a teen through solitary contemplation.  I do not feel Jesus is God, though for a time I viewed him as a possible avatar of God, later I saw him as an ascended master, an example of humanity achieving its potential.  I have had encounters in my life with, for lack of a better term the supernatural, and found both comfort and protection calling upon Jesus for aid and advice, and while I don't think he is God made flesh I do feel he has a special role vis a vis humanity for I have experienced it.  I think the main problem with Christianity is it's gross oversimplifications.  The Catholic church turned what was a mystery religion into a exoteric religion, but in the process they lost the mystery and all that remained was the outer shell designed for the uneducated masses.  Do this and you will be saved, questions ask your clergy.

When the questions came for me, and I asked my clergy…no one had the answers!

This is a true story:  I once attended a church that was quite large.  They had 5 Pastor's on staff in addition to the senior Pastor.  If you had questions you had to go through the 5 before you could get to the main Pastor.  Well, OK, I made my way through Pastor #3 with my trinity questions until he finally said this to me, “Mandy to be honest with you, we've all asked the [senior] Pastor for more training on the issue [the Trinity].”  With that, I gave up.  I left the church and never went back.  I questioned other's including other pastor's and the answers were all the same regarding the Trinity……it's a mystery!

I kept a journal on everyone I asked about the Trinity during that leg of my trek for truth.  I have some 200 entries.

I was raised up under a trinity belief. I am since finding out that that might not excatly be the way that it actually is.

I'm currently pretty confident that no one religion or person fully understands the fullness of GOD.

It is something that is currently out of our grasp I do believe.

I believe that every man must search the scriptures and study and pray his own self to find the truth.

You can only lead someone to Jesus…then it is up to them.

No matter what you believe …you can't get to GOD but through Jesus Christ. That we know for sure.

That is the only way …Jesus Christ.
