    We’re told that love:

1 Corinthians 13:7  bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never fails. But whether there are prophecies, they will fail; whether there are tongues, they will cease; whether there is knowledge, it will vanish away

Knowledge is important, I’ve spent my whole life adding to it, but it must be kept in perspective. As the scripture states, it will vanish, not so for love (Love never fails). Yes knowledge must be sought, but it is a means, (a tool) to be used to establish an introduction to our heavenly Father Who guides us toward revelations of truths, that are far beyond what the accumulation of facts can get us. When we start exhibiting God’s love, we’re displaying for all, the knowledge we’ve gained.

    My opinion, Wm

How can one put the strength of our love for God to the test?

Easy, by their fruits. If a man says he loves God but hates his fellow man, then he cannot love God.

However a person treats the least of the brethren, they do it to Yeshua himself.

    Hi WU,

Loving God has never been taught as a means of salvation.

He owes us nothing and we owe Him everything.

    Obedience is His requirement

    John 14:15
“If you love me, you will keep my commandments.

    John 14:21
Whoever has my commands and keeps them is the one who loves me. The one who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I too will love them and show myself to them.”

Loving God has never been taught as a means of salvation.

“Teacher, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?” He said to him, “What is written in the law? How do you read it?” He answered, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your strength, and with all your mind; and your neighbor as yourself.” He said to him, “You have answered correctly. Do this, and you will live.”

    Obedience is His requirement

Yes. “If you love Me, you will keep My commandments.”

John 5:38 The Father’s teaching does not live in you, because you don’t believe in the one the Father sent. You carefully study the Scriptures. You think that they give you eternal life. These same Scriptures tell about me! But you refuse to come to me to have that life.

That scriptures says to carefully study the scriptures.

    Hi Wakeup.
It doesn’t say to carefully study the scriptures… Jesus said COME TO ME, to have life, because those very scriptures speak of Him… You know that.

Everything will pass away, knowledge will pass away, only three things will remain, faith, hope and love, and the greatest of those things is love.

Yes, knowledge IS important, I guess. But knowing Jesus and the Father is more than knowing ABOUT Them. We can Know about Fishing, we can Know about computers, we can Know about the man down the road, but do we really Know the man down the road? I can talk talk talk about what I Know about God, but do I PRAY… Do I speak to Him?

I think you will agree that, though knowledge is important, knowing The Father and Son and having a personal relationship with them is more important, hence, love, because God is love yes?

Carmillia…….You hit the nail on the head sis, it about knowing GOD THE FATHER AND JESUS and the greatest things that now abides are, FAITH, HOPE AND LOVE , and indeed LOVE is the GREATEST. JESUS told us this in Luke,

LUKE 6:35……”But love your enimies, and do good and lend, hoping for nothing again; and you reward shall be great in heaven, and you shall be called childern of the highest: for he is kind to the unthankful, and to the evil”.

Gal 5:22-26…..> “But the fruit of the Spirit is LOVE, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentlesness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance, against such there is no law. (24), and they that are Christs have crucified the flesh with the affections, and the lusts. (25), if we live in the SPIRIT, let us also walk in the SPIRIT. (26). LET ust no tbe desirious of vain glory, provoking one another, envying one another”.

peace and love to all of you and yours………………gene

What do you think of what Jesus said, “When the Son of Man comes, will He find faith on the earth?”

Camillia…….I don’t think he will find much if any on the earth. People today seem scared to put GOD TO THE TEST, even though he told us to. You find very little descussion about Mircales taking place in peoples lives anymore, not all their fault i believe , because the very meaning of the word FAITH, has been changed over time, what people call FAITH is really “SUPOSITIONS” i believe today.

People seem to not want hard “EVIDENCE” THAT GOD IS “IN” THEIR LIVES. If someone says something they just recon it as true, espically if it is church DOCTRINE. There are a few that question what they hear though, and seek and search to find the truth, these are they who love the truth, and will not settle for assumptions but look and descover for themselves the truth. These are they who LOVE THE truth, and God the FATHER FEEDS THEM.

Jesus meant what he said, “EVEN THOUGH GOD DOES ALL THESE THINGS, NEVER THE LEST, “WHEN THE SON OF MAN COMES WILL HE FIND “FAITH” ON THE EARTH?.

PAUL said “tell me this he that does mircales among you, does he do it by works of law, or by hearing of your FAITH.”

peace and love to you and yours shimmer. ……………….gene

    Hi WU,

God is close to every man[Acts 17].

But that is not any indication that they are saved

    Hi Camillia.

Need to go a bit deeper than that.
1.Jesus was the Word made flesh.
2.What the Word had spoken; was printed on paper; we call it now the Holy bible.
3.Those printed words contains spirit; the spirit of God. The spirit of truth; the Holy spirit. The spirit of life.
4.The Word was made flesh; but is spirit now; and his flesh is also spirit. Those words spoken is His flesh.
    5. We need to eat and drink that flesh to become one in us.

    6. John 6:63 It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.

The flesh Of Babylon is also the spirit of Babylon. And if we eat that instead; we will have the spirit of Babylon in us.

    It is a deep language.
Best for you is to learn the language first.

Hi Gene, so, denying of the power (2 Tim 3:5) is the lack of faith Jesus speaks of, you think.

    OK.
But, what does that have to do with testing the strength of our love.

Many say; I love God and Jesus; but when their own comfort is at stake or their own life or family.
That love would change to self love.
    God will be second.
    If one can give up the traditions of the world that is loved by the majority, for the love of God;
that is true love for God.
The spirit of the world is loved by the majority.
The spirit of God is hated by the world, because they are of the world.

    Hi Wakeup.
Yes, but true Christians are those who obey God’s commandments (ten commandments) and have the faith of Jesus. (Rev 14:12, and Rev 12:17). They are the overcomers.

    Hi Camellia.

You are speaking of true Christians.
They are them that follow the Lamb wheresoever He goes.
To follow the Lamb is to follow all that is written in scripture.
    Without picking cherries.
Chrurch doctrine is full of cherry picking.
This is not to follow the Lamb wheresoever He goes.
Remember, Jesus is the Word of God; we need to follow all of the Word of God.

    wakeup.

    Hi WU,

    Love is of grace.

If you boast of your own abilities you are deceived.
