ParticipantHi Mia:
If you have ever received the baptism of the Holy Spirit, you have been born again, and even in this state, at times you will feel that God may not be with you or you will feel distant from God, but faith is trusting in God’s Word in spite of what we may feel, and He said “that he will never leave you nor forsake you”. As long as you are not practicing sin willfully, He is with you even if you do not feel that He is. You will make mistakes, but if you do, confess your sin with a repentant heart, and the blood of our Lord will cleanse you from all sin.

Hi Marty,
I feel I have been born again definitely,
and even in this state, at times you will feel that God may not be with you or you will feel distant from God
I used to feel distant some days and fret (what have I done wrong, etc). Then it would be OK by the next day. But this has been years.
but faith is trusting in God’s Word in spite of what we may feel,
I’m still sure that I’ve upset God. But, then again it might not be about me at all, and could be how God is feeling, (the times we are in)?
and He said “that he will never leave you nor forsake you”.
Thanks Marty. I don’t feel God has left me/ deserted me at all. I just don’t hear God anymore, and find it hard to pray.
As long as you are not practicing sin willfully
I know right from wrong, but I have trouble with one particular thing. Is is right or is it wrong? I don’t know (can’t say too much here).
He is with you even if you do not feel that He is.
I know, I do believe that. Just can’t connect like I used to.

Hi T,You argue your ideas against scripture?
Rom 8.1
______________________________________________________________Ro 8:1 Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus,
1Jn 2:3 We know that we have come to know him if we obey his commands.
1Jn 2:6 Whoever claims to live in him must walk as Jesus did.
are you walking as Christ did and so teach what Christ said and teaches ? or did you make up you own and only make false claims ?
no I did not speak against the scriptures you just claim that i did with your opinions
1CO 15:34 Become sober-minded as you ought, and
- stop sinning
; for some have no knowledge of God. I speak this to your shame.

No you only give us your opinion of scriptures garnished with condemnation and hatred.

ParticipantThank you Nick. You have been very helpful and comforting, and am grateful. Things are looking up recently, in a few ways.
Terrarica, perhaps you have been debating too long 😀 Have some peace.
Though I agree with you – people can lose their salvation if they fall away after ‘tasting the heavenly gift’.
For it is impossible, in the case of those who have once been enlightened, who have tasted the heavenly gift, and have shared in the Holy Spirit, and have tasted the goodness of the word of God and the powers of the age to come, and then have fallen away, to restore them again to repentance, since they are crucifying once again the Son of God to their own harm and holding him up to contempt. (Hebrews 6.4)
The word for ‘fallen away’ is ‘parapipto, and there’s only one occurrence of it.
Definition: fall away, fall back (into the unbelieving and godless ways of the old time).January 28, 2016 at 7:25 am#808026NickHassan

ParticipantHi Mia:
You say:
I know right from wrong, but I have trouble with one particular thing. Is is right or is it wrong? I don’t know (can’t say too much here).
This may be the problem that you are having connecting in prayer. He has said “confess your faults one to another and pray for one another that you may be healed”.
If you cannot say too much here, do you know a pastor or an elder in the church with whom you can share, and if it is seen that what you are doing is wrong, repent, and ask the pastor or elder to pray that God will forgive you and heal you.
Love in Christ,

ParticipantMarty,
I think I know it’s wrong, not only through some scriptures but also in my heart. Because, I get a sinking feeling in the morning, but later in the day I feel fine and don’t see anything wrong with it. However, I do know in reality something isn’t right – and I can trace the feeling distant to God to when it began, definitely. But then I rationalize in my mind there’s nothing wrong, and it’s not fair. I know that if I spoke to someone, they would tell me there is something wrong, (actually, I have already been told that by quite a few people, but I did not want to hear). I’m sure God understands… and is waiting for me to let go, which is the hardest part, (sorry to talk in riddles!)
Talking to an elder (confessor?) is a good idea, but I don’t know any (I don’t go to church). I will talk to God, (I’m feeling more confident, and seeing more clearly from writing here), and maybe find someone else as well.
Thank you.

ParticipantHi Mia:
God understands all things, but Mia, you are deceiving yourself. Who or what do you love more that which you are doing that you apparently know to be wrong or God. What happens if you happen to pass away in this state?
Are you willing to give up all that God has in store for those who love him in order to continue in sin? The Apostle Paul states that if what you allow is not of “faith” it is sin. If you practice sin willfully, there remains no more sacrifice for sin.
You are grieving His Spirit because as His child He loves you, but He will not force you to do anything that you do not want to do.

ParticipantMarty, the problem is : I don’t know if it’s wrong. I pray and ask, and I get no reply.
I asked a Christian yesterday – who knows the whole story – and they didn’t seem to know either.
It’s one of those topics where Christians can be divided.
I think “that’s it”. Then i think it might be something else, (like the times).
But I hear you, and am listening.
Just so confused.

ParticipantThanks for your help Marty. Much appreciated.
To whomever:
Sin is in all of us. (If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. 1 John 1.8) and sin separates us from fellowshipping with God. If we miss God awfully, and think about it daily, and feel lost without Him – is that bad?
Oswald Chambers, one of many who experienced this discusses the dark years he went through in an old book ‘They Found the Secret, R. Edman, p.46’.:
“God used me during those years for the conversion of souls, but i had no conscious communion with Him. The Bible was the dullest, most uninteresting book in existence, and the sense of depravity, the vileness and bad-motivness of my nature, was terrific. I see now that God was taking me by the light of the Holy Spirit and His Word through every ramification of my being.
“The last three months of those years things reached a climax, I was getting very desperate. …. Then Luke 11.13 got hold of me – “If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more shall your Heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask Him?”
“Those of you who know the experience, know very well how God brings one to the point of utter despair, and I got to the place where I did not care whether everyone knew how bad I was; I cared for nothing on earth, saving to get out of my present condition.”
