Brethren,
Has our God ever visited us through a person other than Christ? And before you say no,let me direct you to 2 passages. Both verses are found in Exodus when the Father was speaking to Moses.
In Ex.4:16 God is telling Moses that Aaron would be a mouth for him(Moses dud have a problem communicating)
and that”you(Moses)will be as God to him(Aaron)”Also in Ex.7:1 the Father again speaks to Moses and says
See,I make you AS GOD to Pharoah, and your brother Aaron shall be YOUR prophet.”We all know that Moses was bestowed with the power of God,as Christ was with the power and Word of God,but in your opinions can these two individuals in any way equate as far as”being like”God.Remember,Moses was there speaking to Christ(along with Elijah)on the mount of transfiguration.
I thought this was interesting and I value your input om
the subject.April 3, 2009 at 6:35 pm#126500NickHassanParticipantHi TO,
Heb1
1God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets,2Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds;
If only folk would treat the words as God's
April 4, 2009 at 8:23 am#126570CindyParticipantJhn 5:37 And the Father himself, which hath sent me, hath borne witness of me. Ye have neither heard his voice at any time, nor seen his shape.
These are Jesus' own words, no one has heard the voice of the Father, “at any time”.
God has always communicated either through his son, or an angel.
The word “god” is really just a title, it implies to a “mighty one”. Moses was mightier than Aaron, and Pharaoh. I think anytime we speak of God in heaven, we think of the “Almighty one”, there is only one God who has all power.Georg
April 5, 2009 at 1:19 am#126657The OneParticipantThank you for your replies, but the Father never said of anyone else in scripture what he said of Moses(except Christ of course). The Father told Moses in 2 different passages(whether by angel or otherwise)that he would be “as God” to both Aaron and Pharoah.
Can we understand what God meant when he said this?We all know that God spoke through Moses and others, but, were the others like Moses in the fact that they would be as(or like)God?
To my puny human thought process, the Father is telling Moses that you will be like Me.Does that denote divinity
being bestowed upon Moses?April 5, 2009 at 3:32 am#126662NickHassanParticipantHi TO,
Is God not at work in you to will and to do?

Col 1:16 For by him (Jesus) were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:When God chooses some one for a specific job, he empowers him to do that job, it is not divinity bestowed upon that individual. Jesus himself told us
Jhn 5:19 Then answered Jesus and said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father do: for what things soever he doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise.
The fact that these individuals were able to do these miraculous things, appeared to others as though they were god.

Jesus quoted scripture telling those Pharisees , "know you not you (ARE) Gods " you see because they sat in the seat of authority and they Had Power to control the people and LORD GOD Held them accountable for there leadership. The WORD GOD is on of the most misunderstood Words in Scripture. IMO

Yes,if we are willing to accept God's will, the Father will most certainly work His deeds through us.I pray always that in some small way I might do whatever His will is.Nick,I also believe you to be a righteous man,so I wish to ask a favor. My 77 year old father Sat.was in a terrible car accident and has been hospitalized since then(his name is Edward).I ask that you please ask our God to give him strength, courage, and that the Allmighty might speed his recovery. It would mean a great deal to me.Thank you.And may our God bless you always!

Yes,you are correct. We are conduits of God by His will and our agreement to do His will. But I believe Moses was somewhat different because God Himself directly(by angel or however)heard God say in 2 different cases”you will be AS GOD”This direct communication denoting Godlike abilities upon
Mose(as far as I know)wasn't given to any other individual other than Moses(Christ of course being the other).Does this type of direct communication, and deoting of”as God”to Moses distinguish him from other prophets, apostles,….?Elijah, called on God's power, and was rewarded by being taken to heaven prior to his earthly life ending(as was Enoch)
but Elijah(according to the OT)munlike Moses, was never denoted”as God”Did God establish a difference between Moses and all other of God's servants by this statement He made?Thank you,and may our God bless you!

The passage you qouted was directed specifically by Christ toward his foes(scribes and pharasees)when taken in the passage's context. But,other passages say the same thing. But we also can't forget that”God”SPOKE to Job from the whirlwind(and it was God because the Father told Job all that”He”had done….1st person).Seeing God's face is that which NO man(other than Christ)has seen.If you'll remember,Moses saw the back of God.In Exodus.God used to walk in the garden.Did Adam and Eve not see His presence? They hid their faces from Him when He was walking in the garden did they not?
We of course understand that only Christ has seen the very face/full spiritual being of God because he existed with God in heaven before he came to earth through Mary. But Christ himself said”When you see me,you see the Father.”because he was/is the exact representation of God's Word and power, but not God himself personally.
April 7, 2009 at 6:53 pm#126905GeneBalthropParticipantTo all…………Jesus said (NO) man at anytime has seen God, what Moses saw was the (Glory) of GOD ; Now ask yourselves what is the Glory of GOD and you will have your answer. It is invisible, it can only manifest itself in powers and Intellects (SPIRIT). Remember Jesus said GOD is Spirit, and those who worship him must worship in Spirit and Truth (Holy SPIRIT). imo

Hi Georg:I do not believe that the statement you made saying that no one has heard God's voice at any time is correct. Jesus was speaking to the Pharisees, and indicating that they had not heard God's voice at any time.
Quote Jhn 5:37 And the Father himself, which hath sent me, hath borne witness of me. Ye have neither heard his voice at any time, nor seen his shape.
Jhn 5:38 And ye have not his word abiding in you: for whom he hath sent, him ye believe not.We know that God spoke to Moses face to face.
He also spoke to the Apostles when He said: “This is my beloved Son in whom I a well pleased, hear ye him”.
Love in Christ,
