Hi,
Guilt is the big problem and Jesus came to offer God's forgiveness instead. That is a great offer.
Rom8
1There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. We need to be joined with the vine and to walk according to the Spirit.
December 20, 2008 at 7:37 pm#114981GeneBalthropParticipantNick……….I thought GOD joined us to the vine, Jesus said (NO) man (CAN) COME unto me except the Father draw HIM. Your words seem to imply (WE) do it. Not scriptural.
love to you and yours……………..gene

Are all men joinned to the vine of Christ? No only those who come to him.
Those who come aand then reject his lordship finish up in the fire.Jn15
6If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned.December 20, 2008 at 9:15 pm#114990NickHassanParticipantHi,
Instead of the oppressive burden of guilt dragging us down Jesus brings freedom and everlasting peace that passes understanding. If we come to Jesus in repenatnce and obedience to the command of God to be reborn of water and have our sins washed away by his blood cleansing our conscience we are set free.If we hear of the Saviour and read the Word but do not obey then we become anxious and start striving to resolve what our hearts come to know, that we are at eternal risk. The world is full of false religion involving desperate self effort attempting to satiate or impress God by vain self effort. Satan loves this situation knowing man is so easily self deceived into missing the point of the mission of the only redeeemer.
Men use guilt as a lever to encourage the frightened masses to follow other blind men all around the globe into the same pit. Being busy burying the dead becomes a blind and hopeless obsession.
First seek the kingdom and everything else will be added to you.

Freedom is what Jesus brings but not freedom from service.
In serving the vine we please the Gardener.April 8, 2014 at 9:56 pm#376939NickHassanParticipantHi,

The Holy Ghost shall be given *after* water baptism.
The apostles were given after their baptism.
Then also they have been given knowledge.Seek knowledge and you shall be given the HS.
Dont seek knowledge, and you wont be given.
Water does not give you the HS.Water baptism is just the beginning of seeking God.
The beginning of walking in Christ.
Many are, and have fallen away after baptism in water.Once chosen, and baptised in the HS: HE will stay with Us.
Will never leave us. Because God knows whom he had chosen to baptise.wakeup.

Quote Rom8
1There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.Do you understand this statement as Paul is declaring there is no condemnation for them that are in Jesus Christ, who bear the fruits of righteousness and do not sin.
After all those who walk after the flesh sin but those who walk after the Spirit do all that is righteous, Galatians 5.
April 9, 2014 at 4:19 am#377005NickHassanParticipantHi KW,
Rom 8
There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.
3 For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh:
4 That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
“Sin in the flesh” has been condemned and those who rather walk by grace after the Spirit will become the sons of God and avoid condemnation.
