Nick……..Mandy is right cant you see that, Like i said before you have unawarely placed Jesus as your GOD, brother. WE are CO-HEIRS with Jesus , the servant is not above His master it's enough that he is (just like Him). We are not beneath his feet. But stand Beside HIM. I believe you still have some Catholic teachings remaining in you brother. Jesus is Not GOD. We do what Jesus did obey GOD. That is a joint thing, not a separate one. WE are called alongside Jesus. IMO

Is a toe alongside the head?No pupil is greater than his teacher.
February 8, 2009 at 7:48 pm#120808GeneBalthropParticipantNick…..o come now Yes a branch can be along side its vine , in fact a branch is part of the vine And are you saying your the toe of Christ.
Who saying were (GREATER) It;s enough that the Pupil is (EXACTLY) the same as the master. NICK are you worshiping Jesus as a GOD?

Indeed they can.
Jn 151I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman.
2Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit.
3Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you.
4Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me.
5I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.
6If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned.
But only as branches fit for the fire

Jn5
19Then answered Jesus and said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father do: for what things soever he doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise.20For the Father loveth the Son, and sheweth him all things that himself doeth: and he will shew him greater works than these, that ye may marvel.
21For as the Father raiseth up the dead, and quickeneth them; even so the Son quickeneth whom he will.
22For the Father judgeth no man, but hath committed all judgment unto the Son:
23That all men should honour the Son, even as they honour the Father. He that honoureth not the Son honoureth not the Father which hath sent him.
We should honour the Son as we honour the Father.
All authority has been given to him.
He is our Lord and Master.February 8, 2009 at 8:19 pm#120820GeneBalthropParticipantNick………If you were Honoring Jesus you would be giving all the GLORY to the FATHER as Jesus DID. And if you are not you are not Honoring Jesus or the FATHER. While Jesus has Authority He is not the FATHER or the one who is over all in all and through ALL the is The FATHER . Jesus said you say i am your lord and master as so i am But if I then your lord and Master wash your feet you aught to also wash one another. So Jesus did Not used his power as ruling over anyone But Helping them.
You position Jesus where He did not position himself. Whosoever that will be greatest among you let Him be your servant. The servant is not greater then his master it's enough He is the (SAME) as His master. Jesus was among us as a servant, So take on the servant and serve both GOD and Man, as Jesus did. You preach the messenger but forget the message and who the message was from. IMO

Branches serve the Gardener by abiding in the vine.February 8, 2009 at 9:10 pm#120833GeneBalthropParticipantNick……A vines branches can Become a vine it self , trust me i absolute know that. The vine and its branches are one and the same not difference, But what supports the vine and the branches is (ONE GOD).He give life from himself to both the vine and branches. They are all one vine to him. And without the branches the vine could produce (NO) Fruit by it self.

Yes you can stick a twig in the ground and it can grow.
I too am a grapegrower and a viticulturalistBut we are advised to abide in the vine.
Jn15

He that honoureth not the Son honoureth not the Father which hath sent himFebruary 8, 2009 at 9:30 pm#120839GeneBalthropParticipantNick……..If you are a Grape grower and a viticulturist , then you should know what i am saying. I do honor the son to the GLORY of the FATHER lets not leave that out. I honor Jesus as my brother who my Father and His Father has place over our Family. I with all my heart view Jesus as my big Brother who knows exactly what My and His FATHER want us to do. But with that said I do not give Him the same Position as the FATHER. I also know Jesus could be perfect and that would not do me any good at all, I must have a relationship with the FATHER as He does also. Because we have the same FATHER. Jesus fully trust the FATHER and SO do i trust him because i know He obeys the FATHER and always does the FATHERS will, NOT his own WILL.

So the understandings given us by God's Spirit are of grace.
The Spirit of grace gives the enablement to develop the mind of Christ according to the written Word.
But the Spirit is never that grace as the Spirit is of God and understanding is only one aspect of that grace from the Spirit[1Cor2]December 1, 2009 at 3:54 pm#161631GeneBalthropParticipantNick…….. God's Grace is Him giving us Spirit (intellect) that influences our Hearts and Minds, causing a change in our thinking and as a result changes the way we live and perceive things. We become renewed in our minds by the perceptions given us by his words, He gives us the intellects to understand them He is Planting his words (seeds) in our hearts. Basically he is putting his self into us, in our hearts and minds. All this is a result of HIS GRACE, it changes our perceptions of things it is a CREATION Process. WE are being (Created) unto good works. All of this is through the GRACE of GOD, not of our works but is indeed a gift of GOD. IMO
