You know boys (using the term loosely) you paint such a beautiful picture of what a true christian man is really all about.
Thanks for sharing.

This is what Americans do to their gods when they don't deliver.

I bet that guy felt worse about missing that field goal than anyone else possibly could. I pray that God reminds him it was just a game, and not the end of the world. I pray that God reminds those sending death threats that everyone makes mistakes.

It's stupid. I have heard of riots in Europe when a team loses. There was also that San Francisco Giants fan that got beat up a little while back.KJ

In Colombia, a soccer player was killed because he lost a game in a world cup. His nickname translated to “the gentleman”.Besides the tragedy, it shows that putting your trust in man is futile.

I lived in both England and Ireland, and although they are not mainland Europe, I witnessed rioting over football matches in both countries. On the mainland, I don't think rioting normal. Could be wrong though.

Dude, my stomach was in knots every time I watched the Cards this year.Despite the 8-8 record for the year, we only lost two of those 8 games by more than one score.
That means that 14 of 16 games were neck and neck until the end. Talk about stress!
Didn't watch it, but I know what you are talking about.
Those games with one or two points in them are stressful.I watched the Rugby World cup last year, and instead of enjoying the final, I was stressing out about New Zealand losing. We won by a slim margin and was glad when it was over.

January 27, 2014 at 1:16 pm#368605ProclaimerParticipantIn order to understand each others favourite game, how about we post Youtube videos of some great play or goals. My game is soccer. I played it when I was very young, but unfortunately due to my flat feet, I had to give it up when I became a teenager. Never mind, my feet might pay off one day when New Zealand goes to war. Might get to stay home with the girls. lol. This is Neymar from Brazil. He is very young and Pele thinks he will be the greatest player in the world. He just needs more experience.
January 27, 2014 at 1:22 pm#368606ProclaimerParticipantZlatan Ibrahimovic is an unbelievable talent. He was one of the most expensive signings in history.
January 27, 2014 at 1:37 pm#368607ProclaimerParticipantI was a school teacher in Colombia in 2003 and I got the kids to talk about soccer in a lesson to improve their conversational English. I knew little about the game as I hadn’t played it for years and coming from New Zealand, we get very little coverage because our game is Rugby. I asked each person in the class who was the best soccer player of all time. A few said Pele, and others said Maradona, but most said Zizou, Zinedine, or Zidane. Then one student said Zinedine Zidane and I realised that they were talking about the same player and as I later found out, Zinedine Zidane’s nickname was Zizou. He pretty much single-handely won a world cup and nearly won a second one, but headbutted a guy in the final because of a racial taunt and was sent off. Consequently his team lost in the final. Needless to say, after watching this guy on Youtube, I was very impressed with his skill, precision, and elegance.
January 27, 2014 at 1:56 pm#368608ProclaimerParticipantQuote (mikeboll64 @ Jan. 12 2012,13:55) I agree about the excessive celebration part. These clowns today don't even have to score to celebrate. They dance around like they're God's gift to the game just for doing what they're paid millions to do – like tackling the dude with the ball. But I'm glad America is advanced enough to know this is a sport that certain people do for a small part of their life. I'm glad we take life-long repercussions of injuries on the field seriously, and offer them protective equipment to lesson the possibility of serious injuries like concussions.
Maybe someday your country will become that advanced.
