Hi 94,
Is that all we need?July 26, 2008 at 1:37 am#99036942767ParticipantQuote (Nick Hassan @ July 26 2008,13:25) Hi 94,
Is that all we need?
Hi Nick:You are talking of those who are in the body of Christ and commit sin. Yes, that is all they need to do is repent.
Quote Mat 18:15 ¶ Moreover if thy brother shall trespass against thee, go and tell him his fault between thee and him alone: if he shall hear thee, thou hast gained thy brother.
Mat 18:16 But if he will not hear [thee, then] take with thee one or two more, that in the mouth of two or three witnesses every word may be established.
Mat 18:17 And if he shall neglect to hear them, tell [it] unto the church: but if he neglect to hear the church, let him be unto thee as an heathen man and a publican. The last alternative if the person does not repent is to ex-communicate him from the body of Christ, but even then if the person repents, he can be restored to the fellowship.
And so, yes I believe that the scripture states that is all that is required of him that has gone astray. What do you believe?

Hi Nick:I see confession of our sins part of the act of repentance.

1Jn1
5This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.6If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth:
7But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.
8If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
9If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
I think the light, if we are honest with ourselves, reveals the darkness in us,
but acknowledgement of it is not enough.November 18, 2008 at 12:54 am#112132NickHassanParticipantHi,
Some seem not to realsie that they stand in need of the forgiveness of God.
They assume that the sacrifice of Jesus has already done that for them.

Nick………….if we acknowledge our sins before GOD we are confessing them, and it Says (GOD) is Just to forgive US and More to (CLEANSE) US FROM ALL UNRIGHTEOUSNESS > Thats repentance at work, GOD Doing it< He cleanses us, not our so-called (self repentance), true repentance is given by GOD. He first lets us see our sin and then when we ask for forgiveness he forgives us and goes on tho cleans us from that sin.love and peace to you and yours……………………………gene

So the work of the Spirit of God within the sons of God is to bring to light all unrighteousness.
I agree.The Spirit sanctifies.
2 Thessalonians 2:13
But we are bound to give thanks alway to God for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, because God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth:1 Peter 1:2
Elect according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, through sanctification of the Spirit, unto obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ: Grace unto you, and peace, be multiplied. But the Spirit of God does not live in the heathen.
They need the sprinkling of the seed of the Gospel.
They need the Word of God preached to them.
Rom10
12For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him.13For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
14How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?
15And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!
16But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Esaias saith, Lord, who hath believed our report?
17So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

Jesus used the symbol of washing for forgiveness.
Jn 13
5After that he poureth water into a bason, and began to wash the disciples' feet, and to wipe them with the towel wherewith he was girded.6Then cometh he to Simon Peter: and Peter saith unto him, Lord, dost thou wash my feet?
7Jesus answered and said unto him, What I do thou knowest not now; but thou shalt know hereafter.
8Peter saith unto him, Thou shalt never wash my feet. Jesus answered him, If I wash thee not, thou hast no part with me.
9Simon Peter saith unto him, Lord, not my feet only, but also my hands and my head.
10Jesus saith to him, He that is washed needeth not save to wash his feet, but is clean every whit: and ye are clean, but not all.
For WOBMarch 5, 2009 at 1:20 am#124137wild_olive_branchParticipantthank you nick,
I understand what you and others have said, but not quite it (for me anyhow)….i feel there is more to this, yet if there is it will be given. i do know however that i am going to invite some over and have a foot washing at my home, i believe it is needed.
it may be something to do with being an obedient servant.
much love

Water baptism is about forgivenessRom4
5 But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness.6 Even as David also describeth the blessedness of the man, unto whom God imputeth righteousness without works,
7 Saying, Blessed are they whose iniquities are forgiven, and whose sins are covered.
8 Blessed is the man to whom the Lord will not impute sin.
May 14, 2014 at 11:15 pm#382286NickHassanParticipantHi,
To want forgiveness is to be aware of sin.
many are not.
1 Timothy 1:15
This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief.May 14, 2014 at 11:17 pm#382287NickHassanParticipantHi,

Ps 25
Lead me in thy truth, and teach me: for thou art the God of my salvation; on thee do I wait all the day.6 Remember, O Lord, thy tender mercies and thy lovingkindnesses; for they have been ever of old.
7 Remember not the sins of my youth, nor my transgressions: according to thy mercy remember thou me for thy goodness' sake, O Lord.
December 22, 2017 at 9:26 am#820280NickHassanParticipantHi,
The children of unrighteousness are not due any favours from God.
The whole world is under the evil one.
If today God gives you light about your risky situation be cut to the heart.
His mercy and grace abounds towards the repentant who seek the way of salvation.

Do you believe my sins were not forgiven until my water baptism? You do know
that C.O.C. believes that? That is why I gave them (COC) the first right of refusal.____________
God bless

Be baptised for the forgiveness of your sins.
