Hi T,
Yes men have feared death more than anything.
For the Jews the view of Sheol in scripture was not encouraging.
But we have the awaiting mansions of Christ if we die before his imminent returnFebruary 24, 2012 at 6:52 pm#280331terrariccaParticipantQuote (Nick Hassan @ Feb. 25 2012,11:00) Hi T,

No if we are in Christ we have to reject him to lose our reward.
2 tim 2 11-13The mercy of God is great.
Our striving cannot improve His blessing but reveals our doubts.February 24, 2012 at 8:30 pm#280347terrariccaParticipantQuote (Nick Hassan @ Feb. 25 2012,11:55) Hi T,

Nagain do not deceive yourself ;
2Ti 2:11 Here is a trustworthy saying:
If we died with him,
we will also live with him;
2Ti 2:12 IF WE ENDURE, (SEE THIS “IF”)
we will also reign with him.
If we disown him,
he will also disown us;
2Ti 2:13 if we are faithless,
he will remain faithful,
for he cannot disown himself.February 24, 2012 at 8:55 pm#280355mikeboll64BlockedQuote (Nick Hassan @ Feb. 23 2012,20:29) Hi MB,
Quite so.
And just as princes are born to be King they await their appointed time.
Princes are born princes. They are not said to be born kings. Jesus WAS said to have been born King of the Jews. And Savior. And Christ. And Lord.Nick, I have no option but to believe what the scriptures teach me. If you do not believe those same scriptures, then we'll have little in common – as has been evidenced by our discussions.

Yes martyrdom or dying in him is security.

Nick,Matthew 2:2
and asked, “Where is the one who has been born king of the Jews? We saw his star in the east and have come to worship him.”February 25, 2012 at 4:25 am#280445NickHassanParticipantHi MB,
Indeed Jesus was born in Bethlehem.No other claimant to his future kingdom existed.
And when he was anointed he preached it and men poured in.

So then Jesus was literally born king – just like the scripture says – right?February 25, 2012 at 5:52 pm#280535NickHassanParticipantHi MB,
Prophetically yes.
Just as the rest of Ps 2 had yet to happen.February 25, 2012 at 6:01 pm#280542mikeboll64BlockedQuote (Nick Hassan @ Feb. 25 2012,10:52) Hi MB,

No Nick,The words, “where is the one who WAS BORN KING” do not speak of a prophecy.
And in Ps 2, it is a case of God HAS DONE this, and in the future, because of the “this” he already did, this other stuff WILL HAPPEN.
The fact that God already begot a Son unto Himself has no bearing on the things that haven't yet happened.
February 25, 2012 at 6:08 pm#280546NickHassanParticipantHi MB,
The WORD was with God and the Word was God.
You are best equipped to decide when prophetic scripture applies?February 25, 2012 at 6:10 pm#280547NickHassanParticipantHi MB,
The Law and the prophets were in force till the time of John[Lk16.16]
THEN the kingdom was preached.February 25, 2012 at 6:15 pm#280551mikeboll64BlockedQuote (Nick Hassan @ Feb. 25 2012,11:08) You are best equipped to decide when prophetic scripture applies?
Obviously better equipped than you are.Nick, I'm truly tired of you. You say nothing of value. You spout little condescensions to everyone here, as if you are our great, knowledgable teacher or something. But you are just arrogant – that's all.

Nthis would be like if we tell thing that are not true to the scriptures we would then be proliferate lies to all ,right
and this would of our own making right
so to prevent this of happening we should make sure that it is in scriptures and not our imagination right
yes to all,
February 25, 2012 at 7:38 pm#280596NickHassanParticipantAbsolutely T,
All must be very careful.
But theology and logic tend to get elevated over scripture. - AuthorPosts
