give me the verse and ill explain it to you

Hi Jammin, I'm NOT ASKING YOU TO EXPLAIN the verse, but instead if you agree on the definition of “divine nature”.
Do you agree on the definition of divine nature (posted in my quote in blue)? Here's the verse it's taken from…

“According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through
the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue: Whereby are given unto us exceeding
great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the “divine nature”,
having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.” (2 Peter 1:3-4)

If not HOW DO YOU DEFINE “divine nature”?

    Hi Jammin,

We need to talk about one thing at a time,
with everything being clear; no assumptions.

I can't assume we are defining words the same.
Because clearly you are defining words differently.
We're now discussing the meaning of divine nature.

means not the substance of the Godhead, but the partaking of those qualities, by which the image of God is restored in us.

the divine nature-not God's essence, but His holiness, including His “glory” and “virtue,” 2Pe 1:3; the opposite to “corruption through lust.”

He said: “The Word” was GOD. (John 1:1)

Do you deny that the “HolySpirit” is GOD?      <– Please answer

Here's the list of my terms…

GOD:  the creator of the universe.
    NATURE:  the physical world collectively.

    jammin,

I don't know why Ed won't just answer your question with the choices you gave.  After all, you quoted what Peter said WORD FOR WORD as one of your choices.  ???  Ed is always trying to avoid being “trapped” or “tricked”, and so he many times is standoffish when it comes to answering direct questions.

I keep telling him that if he speaks only truth, there is no way anyone can “trap” him.  The ONLY correct answer to your question is # 2.  Peter said, “so that through them you may participate in the divine nature and escape the corruption in the world caused by evil desires”

But I have a simple question for you, okay?

jammin, do you believe that Jesus IS the very God he is the Son OF?  Yes or No?

    Hi Jammin,

Here is the verse, so you can clearly see what is written in this verse,
But it is nevertheless connected to what the Apostle Paul said in Phil.2:5-6
Your attempts to try to get me to detach these interconective meanings is futile.

    2) “According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness,
through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue: Whereby are given unto us exceeding
great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature,
having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.” (2 Peter 1:3-4)

    1) 2:5 τουτο γαρ φρονεισθω εν υμιν ο και εν χριστω ιησου
2:6 ος εν μορφη θεου υπαρχων ουχ αρπαγμον ηγησατο το ειναι ισα θεω

(Phil 2:5-6) 2:5 This understanding is in you in Christ Jesus:
2:6 In the form that God exists, think it not robbery to be considered equal.

    Hi Mike,

You can see what's written there, I can see what's written there and so can Jammin; so lets not play dumb!
He doesn't need my approval to believe how he interprets the verses any more than you do.

His question is not one of information, not one of agreement, just a feeble attempt
to bully me with restrictive choices.   …and I'm not playing that game, sorry!

I started a thread to explain to YOU why this unsavory tactic
of restrictive answer choices serves no purpose. (Link)

i believe mike that jesus is the son of GOD. yes it is correct BUT you have to complete what the bible says.

the bible says that Christ is the son of GOD, and he is also GOD by nature.

    Philippians 2:6

    New International Version (NIV)

6 Who, being in very nature God,
    did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage;

    Hi Jammin,

Here is what Phil 2:5-6 really says…

2:5 τουτο γαρ φρονεισθω εν υμιν ο και εν χριστω ιησου
2:6 ος εν μορφη θεου υπαρχων ουχ αρπαγμον ηγησατο το ειναι ισα θεω

(Phil 2:5-6) 2:5 This understanding is in you in Christ Jesus:
2:6 In the form that God exists, think it not robbery to be considered equal.

This is the “divine nature” THAT YOU MIGHT someday hav. (NOTE: see highlighted part)

“According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness,
through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue: Whereby are given unto us exceeding
great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature,
having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.” (2 Peter 1:3-4)

That is of course if you ever put on the “New Man”! (Eph.4:24)

    Question #2:
are you suggesting that Mary is(?) the mother of God?
answer: your question is not specific, bec in the bible the son is GOD by nature. the father is also GOD by nature. who is the GOD you are referring to? the father or the son?

OK back to the REAL questions; not the rhetorical FAKE ones you try to pass of as legit.

Since you call Jesus: “GOD” (NOTE: the creator of the universe.)…
…are you suggesting that Mary is(?) the mother of God?

your question is not specific   …FALSE it is very specific!   …Now will you please answer this question?

(2.A.) who is the GOD you are referring to?   …How many God's are there?   …I know of only one.
