    Hi 942767.
In Ro.2:4 that you quote, Notice “it is God who leads you to repentance”.  This is not of you, it is God working in you.  You don't earn your justification by your own will.
The scriptures in 2Pe.  and Acts2.  Are to Israel, before the gospel of “grace” is taken to the Nations.

    Blessings.

Yes, CO it is God who leads us to repentance, but it is up to us to repent. It is kind of like the old proverb which states:
“you can lead a horse to water, but you can't make him drink”.

    You say:

The scriptures in 2Pe. and Acts2. Are to Israel, before the gospel of “grace” is taken to the Nations

We are all saved by “Faith” both Jew and gentile so that it might be by “grace”. And so, there is only one “gospel” or good news which is salvation by Faith so that it might be by grace to the Jew first and then to the gentile nations.

You cannot pick and choose which scriptures apply to the Jews and which to the gentiles. This is a misunderstanding on your part.

    Quote
2Ti 3:16 All scripture [is] given by inspiration of God, and [is] profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

My desire is God's very best for you and your family.

    God Bless

    Hi 942767.
You quote: “You cannot pick and choose which scriptures apply to the Jews and which to the gentiles. This is a misunderstanding on your part.”

It is not I that picks and chooses, scripture plainly says to whom it is for.

    See Matt.15:24, Ro.15:8, Ro.15:16, are some.

    Blessings

    Hi CO:

Just because a scripture was directed to Jews does not mean that they do apply to us.

    Jesus said:

    Quote
Jhn 3:3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.

    And he said:

    Quote

Jhn 3:5 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and [of] the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.

Jesus was speaking to Nicodemus who was a Jew, but he did not say “except a jew be born of water and of the Spirit…” he said “a man be born…”

If you have not been born again, you will never understand the scriptures. To be born again means that the Spirit of God indwells you and will lead you unto all truths in His Word.

If you are not born again, you are not saved, and you cannot teach me anything from the scriptures without first being saved.

    Quote
Rom 8:11 But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.
Rom 8:12 Therefore, brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh.
Rom 8:13 For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live.
Rom 8:14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.

    Quote
Rom 8:9 But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.

I love you and want God's very best for you and your family.

    Hi 942767.
While Jesus was on this earth teaching, it was to Israel only. The nations (gentiles) were not included, see Eph.2:11-12 …12 that you were, in that era, apart from Christ, being alienated from the citizenship of Israel, and guests of the promise covenants, having no expectation, and without God in the world.
See where it says, We, gentiles, having no expectations, “AND WTHOUT GOD IN THE WORLD”? So how could Jesus words be for us? They, Israel, were under the “Law”, taught the gospel of “the kingdom”, which entrance into requiered obediance to the “Law”.
Now us,the nations, are taught “the gospel of Grace”. Where entrance into the “celestials” (heaven), comes by the grace of God, both Jew and/or Gentile, according to His (God) choosing.
We have NO PART IN OUR SALVATION, nothing that has to be done, it has all been done for us, we have been “justified” by the sacrifice of our Lord and Saviour Christ Jesus.
At the “consummation”, God will be ALL IN ALL. See 1Cor.15.

Thanks for your love, to you and your family also.

    CO,
Did you know his friends wrote out all he said in detail?
    Those words are for you.
    You said so.

Of course it's for me, all the history written about the whole world is FOR me, and everyone else on this planet.
But not all is ABOUT me, even an elementary school child is able to discern this. Why can't you?

If it is for you should take it on board.
We are not speaking of history but of words of spirit and life.
The teachings of Paul are only FOR you if you are now joined with Christ.
